I did an Alaska cruise without a balcony. You're just forced to get up early and move around the ship. Had an oceanview cabin. Another tip about the stateroom is put your suitcases under the bed. They're out of sight and mind then. I think the Ovation is an outstanding ship. It's just very well designed for the most part. It's quite large, from 2016, I like the stateroom better than the newest versions of stateroom because they have more color in them. I remember it being 10:30 at night in Vancouver and being light out. That was in August. Not sure when the sun sets in Alasaka. One or two nights it didn't seem to set at all, like it was a "white night." You're very observant in your videos and do a great job of presenting how the ship areas function. The sports and activity area, the multiple varied socializing venues (very important to me), a good amount of eateries, lots of family stuff as well as adult areas, solid spa area, great deck areas, inside solarium pool for cool weather cruising, all of the things you pointed out. Two70 is high tech and it seems well designed for its purpose as an aft lounge but better as a secondary showroom. The decor predates the taupish look a lot of new ships have that I don't prefer. So, 8 years old now and that's a modern yet not overly trendy ship. I like Bolero's, Schooners, the pub, Music Hall, just a lot of areas on this ship. Music Hall is really nice and something I think Celebrity tried to model the Club on Edge ships after. The Club pales in comparison even if it iis more high tech. Excellent ship IMO. To me, this is the best Royal Caribbean class of ship. I hear a lot of mention of size from reviewers and vloggers but size doesn't determine content. You can have nicer ships with more varied venues on a smaller ship than larger one. Age, also. Some cool stuff not on the newish ship can be found on a previous class ship or two classes older ship. Size and age don't determine quality or how upscale or downscale a ship may feel. Also, the same type of area may actually be better on the previous class. Chops on Icon isn't as nice as on this ship. The staterooms on Icon may be a bit smaller. Bolero on Icon isn't quite as nice. Etc. On Celebrity, Crafts and Social is a lot bigger and nicer on Solstice class than Edge class. Etc. Alaska has its canned stuff like any tourist destination but the natural beauty is unique, the color of the water, the freshness of the air, all that is wonderful. I think HAL and Princess are best for Alaska but if they're not your style, this is an excellent choice. You guys did a great job on the video and you seem like very polite and good folks. Thanks for the videos.
Be careful guys!! U both do such a good job I'm thinking someone's gunna se these videos and hire you to review and create this kind of excellent content, video editing articulate representation of thier product, just saying so much quality here. So impressive!!!!❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I've been on many cruises. From Vancouver to Whittier and then a 5 day land package to Fairbanks was a wonderful trip! I'm enjoying your adventures, again. ❤❤❤❤
Great video Wil and Jen! What a nice cruise ship and nice cruise. Looks like fun. Hope you got to play pickle ball and ping pong. Hope you had lots of fun on the cruise. I can’t wait to hear about how good the food was. Thank you both for the tour of the ship and for the great video. Hope you have an enjoyable and Happy Thanksgiving with your families. 🦃
We Love Love Love Royal. I'm surprised you didn't drop your bags with the porter and have them take them onboard for you. We typically just carry a small backpack onboard and have the rest of our luggage delivered to the room. Ovation is a wonderful ship and Alaska is amazing. Great video guys !! Did you guys eat at Chops ?? Our favorite steakhouse at sea !!
We love Royal as well! We carry all our bags because we heard of someone getting their bags lost and we don’t want to take the risk. Plus we usually pack light. We are at chops on Oasis but we weren’t crazy about it. Maybe we will give it a try again next time!
Packing light is a plus. We haven’t figured that out yet.. 28 cruises so far and no lost luggage, knock on wood… LOL. I couldn’t imagine carrying Missy’s shoes all around the boat until the rooms were ready, LOL !!!!
Just wondering what month this was Sorry if I missed it. Debating the entire Alaska cruise vs. land tour with our class B next summer. Or maybe a combo.
Seriously, do both. The great thing about the cruise in Alaska is Eccles places that you can’t get to my car no matter how hard you try. Eden land portion you could go see things that you can’t see by cruise I’ve done both and I still need to go back again both ways because there’s so much that I couldn’t see . My next trip will ask. It will be a longer trip that goes to Kodiak island and there’s no easy way to get there besides cruise ship are flying. If you think this will be a one time trip, I would do princess or a Holland America, land and sea package. They both have lodges the stays, are typically to three days and you got a Denali. They have their own lodges, and then they take it in Whittier, which is outside of Anchorage and then you take the cruise ship from Whittier backed out to Vancouver or Seattle. It’s amazing simply amazing
The reason I say, princess, or a Holland America is because they’ve been in Alaska, the longest and they have rights to the best docking spaces, and you have your best chance of going into glacier bay with those two lines. Only two ships a day or allowed into glacier bay and a Holland America plus princess have the most option of going into glacier bay. Also, they have their lodges plus there a train that is absolutely worth it
Can’t figure out if this couple is ever going to stay on their own building this channel and their content or just be wingman and wingwoman for Matt’s RV and wherever he bounces around to for sales. Kind of discouraged to see so little content now and sick of RV reviews.

Man we really dropped the ball 😂
I've actually done that on many cruises! The bathrooms are so similar to an RVs.
@@pattijohnson8197except that you don't have to clean your own $hit! 😆

I just got off the voyager of the seas this past Monday. 4 day out of Galveston. I’ve been in both carnival and royal. Love both for different reasons
I’ve only gone on out of Galveston since it’s my home port. Carnival Dream is next July and newest ship jubilee in 2025
So cool!
Thanks Patty!
🥲 SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL TRIP
