If ever there was a doozy of a project I've always wanted to do, this was always it. I've had this chart since the 90s, never went near it because TW is so intimidating... but your tips and tricks have given me new hope :) Do you think a 28-count fabric would be suitable? Or do you really really REALLY recommend sticking to a 25-ct? I have concerns about coverage in the darker sections of the border. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the great video! For your comment about wanting a personalized house, I wanted one too and at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 I charted my house and stitched it up, using the basis from Tiny Modernist for the phrase. I’ll post it on Insta and tag you both if you want to see it. I am not away of any general way to do this, but it was so much fun to do.

I recently bought a Peacock kit off FB Marketplace, never opened, with thread, material and charts. Then I found this video and i think im ready after your great hints. I also have a couple of HAED that I've started, so I'm pretty certifiable, but blissfully ignorant and having a great time. Great hints and tips.

Such a sentimental Flosstube for me as well as you! My best friend and I grew up stitching together, but sadly she has passed. You two remind me of us, and that makes me happy, and perhaps a bit tearful myself. Arica, I am so glad you are finishing your Angel. She is really beautiful. I hope she finds a spot of honor in your home. And Samantha, I look forward to seeing yours displayed in your backdrop one day.

Check out the Stitch People!!! It's a book that teaches you how to cross stitch portraits, and there are soooooo many beautiful customizations! They also have a book to teach you how to embroider an image of your own house!

Great video! I loved the fire screen - it reminds me so much of my grandmother's stitching! I have started watching some of the 'slow stitch' videos - some of that work is extraordinary! I think sometimes fire screens were also used from spring to fall - once the fireplace was not in use - used to cover the 'hole' of the fire place.

Hello ladies, love watching all your stitching. Just gorgeous. The fabric you are using for Blue Beards mermaid is beautiful! I do agree with you about her face. To me her face on the chart picture looks more like a mask. She does maybe need more shading. But I am sure you will come up with something that will look great.

Thanks for inviting us to spend time with you at the cabin. It's obvious you all had a blast, but hope you were able to rest and recharge, as well. Loved all your projects, pictures, stories, etc. I was inspired by the freebie bee and mermaid patterns. Can't wait to join you all again next year. (Arica reminded me of Tom Hanks when Samantha teared up. "There's no crying in ba...flosstube!" It was funny and touching at the same time. It's so lovely to see such an enduring friendship. ❤)

A book that might be useful in charting your own sampler is Picture it in Cross Stitch by Jo Verso. I have seen it in loads of Charity Shops here in the UK. It was printed in the late 80’s.

Love your design! I hope you will release it. The book was shown on Country Stitchers. Deb uses some of the motifs in her montage. Are you guys coming to Stitch North in the Spring?

You both made me cry with all the wonderful memories you are sharing together. It is so amazing to have a best friend and you both can stitch together. It is so wonderful to see. I have one Butternut Road Told in a Garden chart and it is called Feathers & Friends and I am stitching it on 16-count Milk Chocolate aida so now I want to go and stitch it. It is so wonderful to see both of your families getting along and doing things together. I loved these 2 videos a lot. Happy Stitching.

I store my silks in floss away bags. All of it ,even my spools, but especially Soie D'Alger. I wonder how bad you have to play thread chicken to be using the very tip of thread that you've licked?

I’m stitching the morning angel!!! I love her!!! So pretty!!! I want to make a floss tube so I can show you! lol

After watching I decided to start my Angel of Spring. I found the full kit at Goodwill for a dollar. The fabric is Adia and I prefer linen but I am going to use i. Someone had purchased the kit at Hobby Lobby in '05. at half price of $23.25.

Pull Enchanted Mermaid and reverse her face to the correct profile! She has a lovely face ❤ bluebeards mermaid looks many and like her head is off her shoulders. I will never stitch her with that head! I know I’m bad but it’s so true! Love it all ladies and it’s so fun to see you two together 😊😊

I love seeing your angel of spring saga. My first Lavender & Lace was the angel of spring. I stitched it back in 1994. I've also stitched the other seasonal angels as well as the ice angel and the earth angel.

Having a daughter embrace stitching is such a wonderful thing. My first quilt was also a king size for a wedding…the marriage lasted less than two years and recently the fellow asked what to do with it so I suggested giving it to a battered woman’s shelter. Oh the memories! 🦉

Ok, I never thought Bluebeard’s Princess was pretty but seeing her up close! 😮😮😮!! I want to stitch her now. I can give you some tips to help you fix the face. When you go to draw faces, it’s the smallest details that make the person but hands and feet are the WORST!! I can message you on Instagram if you like. Funny enough, Ella the Frog Princess also calls for 2 strands of backstitch around the skin and at first I thought it was a mistake.

Love the history together. I bought this in my early late twenties, got busy with work and only have a small start. Ladies you inspired me to pull it, and start stitching.

You guys are too funny, talking about the big head, big face, big, chin mermaid. That just cracked me up! The motif book that you guys were looking at is the book I was going to recommend to Sam for her heirloom Sampler.

I run my thread across a brick of beeswax = no knots ever.

Once again, another great video! I love seeing you two together. I had a giggle when Arica was showing here Mira mermaid! I, too, sometimes try to change the face/head with no success. So I found that if I had some flush to the cheeks using a faint color of pink it tends to help me. I have actually had a couple that were just eyes and very light pink lips and cheeks. Your stitching is gorgeous!! Have a great vacation together. You are so lucky to have each other!

I enjoy seeing your beautiful friendship, and it’s lovely that your families get together despite the distance between you. Oh Arica… that mermaid’s face needs some help, but I’m not sure exactly how to fix her. Your other stitching on it is so pretty, though.

I have been stitching for a very long time. I actually have a few spools of DMC metallic threads. I have the gold and the silver. I love your projects!

Maximum Cross Stitch has the Friendship Sampler. The large version gives you different people and motifs you can add. Sam, I love your finishing of your smalls exchange. I am thinking for finishing my small for Stitch North October in a similar fashion.
