I’m just a dude in Alaska, working on my Samurai and other projects. Sometimes I go off-road and actually enjoy my toys, sometimes I go hunting or fishing…. Most of the time my family, friends, and dogs get involved…. And I film it so you can live vicariously through me. I usually read and answer all the comments so leave me a question or comment! Thanks for all your support by watching and liking my videos!

That's why i like toyota axles on my Samurai. snap rings not collars!!! Thanks for sharing!!
@@thebanjoman1963 yeah, I have a set of yota axles, and after crunching the cost I decided to keep it Suzuki and get some RCV axles and truss up the front end. I have access to lots of Suzuki parts at Kevin’s and not so much on Toyotas. Toyota axles are popular up here and everything for them is so much more expensive I just stayed with Suzuki 🤷🏼♂️😎

hello bro, I got an option for a j18 that is selling almost for free cause it's leaking oil and the owner doesn't wanna bother with it, I am thinking of overhauling it and keep it, I have an old SJ410 that I swapped the 5 gear tranny from a Samurai, would you say it's a better option than a g16b swap?
@@dalfaroux I personally avoid the J18, out of the 2 you mentioned I would stick with the G16B
@@CTMadModz thanks! may I ask why and given that if j18 is not good, my options are now between g16a, g16b and m13a cause there are some cheap options around here, I have some g16a accesories like ac and power steering, would they work on g16b?
@@dalfaroux I try to avoid any engine with a timing chain if I can. Timing belts are easier to deal with. I also don’t like interference engines, and try to avoid those as well.
@@CTMadModz oh bro now I'm kinda confused, I thought j20 was like that on both timing chain and interference (like j18) for me going for the j18 instead of the j20 would be a matter of money, cause it is the same for engine with accesories than it is costing me for a g16b also with accesories (i can't afford current regular j20 prices on my country) I haven't upgraded transmissions or gearing on my sj410, I planned on doing the engine first but doing just 1 upgrade instead of growing out from a g16a looking for more power, and then focusing on the rest, I have the 1300 5th transmission, this is why I also thought of going j18 instead of j20 for fear of ripping the thing apart
@@dalfaroux all valid, I just prefer one over the other. I’m sure you’ll be fine either way you go
