Japanese Garden Changing Seasons
Changing seasons in the Japanese Garden means the greens of summer turn red, orange, yellow, and more! This garden tour video features Japanese maples and ginkgoes showing off their autumn colors. Don't miss the crisp raked waves in the dry garden (Karesansui) showing their contours and patterns with fallen leaves. And how can I forget the pink of the fall-blooming Camellias? So many treasures to be found in the Japanese Garden during the fall season.
Nashville's Blevins Japanese Garden at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens is a treasure. Plan your visit at cheekwood.org/

Japanese Garden Ginkgo Photo Tour
มุมมอง 226ปีที่แล้ว
Of all the colors of autumn, it's hard to beat the golden glow of the Ginkgos. I was able to tour Nashville's Japanese Garden at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens during peak ginkgo color. The crew has done a great job raking the gravel in the dry karesansui garden, and the water running through the tsukubai made for a lovely scene. Hope you enjoy this photo tour! Plan your visit to Nashville's Japan...

Is this the best bonsai collection in the Eastern US? You'll have to watch the video and judge for yourself! The Bonsai Exhibition Garden at the North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville, North Carolina is a beautiful collection in a beautiful setting. Tucked into in the Appalachian Mountains, the NC Arboretum is a must-visit if you're in the area. We had the pleasure of visiting during peak autumn...
Japanese Garden Moon Viewing Festival
มุมมอง 239ปีที่แล้ว
Cheekwood Botanical Gardens in Nashville, Tennessee held its 8th Annual Japanese Moon Viewing Festival on October 9, 2022. It was an amazing opportunity to tour the Blevins Japanese Garden after dark. They had the garden perfectly manicured, and they had water flowing through the chozubachi! The Japanese maples were also giving a fine display as they transition through autumn showing the glory ...
Light the Lantern! Sunset in the Japanese Garden
มุมมอง 3Kปีที่แล้ว
Days are getting shorter, and the sun is setting earlier in Nashville. That means more golden hour time in the Blevins Japanese Garden at Cheekwood!. I love the evening because the garden's lights start to come on, and that puts a spotlight on the lanterns. I also really like the golden light through the ginkgo leaves and bamboo. Enjoy this tour and plan a trip of your own at www.cheekwood.com.
Japanese Garden Bamboo Forest Walk: A PEACEFUL Start to the Day
มุมมอง 1.1Kปีที่แล้ว
Bamboo in the Japanese Garden serves so many purposes, but I like to think of it a horticultural worm hole. In Nashville's Japanese Garden at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens, you step past the wall, through the gate, into the bamboo forest, and you're somehow transported to another time and place. The sameness of the seemingly infinite shoots of bamboo helps you forget how long you've been walking....
Snowy Japanese Garden! Tour Birmingham's Japanese Garden after a rare snowfall.
มุมมอง 712ปีที่แล้ว
On February 10, 2011, it snowed in Birmingham, Alabama. It's relatively rare this far south, and I had the pleasure of being the first person to walk through the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. The light snowfall transformed the Japanese Garden in a way I'd never seen before. It was truly enchanting. If you enjoy this tour, plan your visit to the BBG at this link: bbgardens.org/
Japanese Garden BONUS! Karesansui Dry Garden and Stroll Garden in ONE LOCATION!

Enjoy this quick stroll through the Japanese Garden at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. This tour focuses on the garden's dry stone garden with two viewing points, the tea ceremony garden, the stroll garden and large rock placements in the pond, and the bamboo forest. I also focused on a few nice water features and got some parting shots from the formal rose garden ...

Slow down and admire the details! In this video, we're taking a slower walk through the Blevins Japanese Garden in Nashville, Tennessee. Admire the Japanese maples, feel the breeze through the ginkgo trees, inspect the form of the lanterns, and connect with the strength of the stone placements. You'll also see the garden's tsukubai and take in the grand expanse from the viewing pavilion. Learn ...
BEAUTIFUL Butterflies! 5 Minutes of Peace in the Pollinator Garden
มุมมอง 96ปีที่แล้ว
Why plant a pollinator garden? Because you get endless entertainment from the parade of butterflies and other insects! This video is from my beds of Zinnias in my backyard raised bed garden. When I started gardening, I spent more time and effort in vegetables, but I have gotten more and more delight out of flowers, making arrangements, and watching the butterflies.

Atlanta's Japanese Garden: Too Small? Or Just RIGHT!

Is it too small? Too crowded? Or just right? I'll let you decide! Here's a quick tour of the Japanese Garden at the Atlanta Botanical Garden in Atlanta, Georgia. The ABG is situated near/in Atlanta's busy Piedmont Park. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, and there was a concert going on which kinda ruined the vibe. But surprisingly, as soon as you stepped inside the moon gate in the Japanese G...
Springtime in Nashville's Japanese Garden: Japanese Maples on FIRE!

It's springtime in Nashville which means the Japanese maples at Cheekwood's Blevins Japanese Garden have flushed the foliage for the year. I recorded this video on April 15, and the bright red leaves were just stunning. The green varieties of Japanese maple were also at their early season peak and vibrant. Several azaleas dotted around the Japanese garden and across the broader Cheekwood proper...
