WCMGA McLemore House

The Williamson County Master Gardeners Association is proud to continue its tradition of volunteerism at historical locations around the county with a new site: The McLemore House Museum in Franklin! We're proud to partner with the African American Heritage Society of Williamson County to provide landscaping design, planting, and maintenance at the McLemore House. This historic home was built in 1880 by Harvey McLemore, and through it, the AAHS interprets the history of reconstruction-era Franklin when people who were formerly enslaved established new lives for themselves. This video was recorded in late 2021 as WCMGA volunteers were just beginning work at the McLemore House Museum and features interviews with AAHS leaders Alma McLemore and Harvey Chrisman.
