  • Is it too small? Too crowded? Or just right? I'll let you decide!
Here's a quick tour of the Japanese Garden at the Atlanta Botanical Garden in Atlanta, Georgia. The ABG is situated near/in Atlanta's busy Piedmont Park. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, and there was a concert going on which kinda ruined the vibe. But surprisingly, as soon as you stepped inside the moon gate in the Japanese Garden, you were (somewhat) transported to an (at least slightly) more tranquil place. The Moon Gate and repeated circular window inside are well done, and the large pine is a significant, strong focal point. Here's a little more on their website: atlantabg.org/...
If you noticed the origami crane sculpture at the very start, the ABG has a pretty neat installation of origami pieces all throughout the facility. Here's a little more info on that: atlantabg.org/... The Instagram crowd seemed to be getting the biggest kick out of the Pegasus which also features on their website.
If you're in Atlanta and love gardens, definitely put the botanical garden on your to-do list. If you're ONLY interested in Japanese Gardens, this alone is not worth the $25 entry price. THAT SAID-- they have a truly amazing conservatory with many varied habitats... It was my favorite part of the whole facility. The orchids are a special highlight: atlantabg.org/...
