I like this video, not because of the topic, but because of how analytical and accurate the video was. I don't think many people could describe someones personality as well as this man did, and he doesn't even know the guy.

True strength lies in mastering your emotions, not letting them master you. Stoicism teaches us that staying calm in chaos is the ultimate superpower.

I have learned not to engage with people who are disrespectful. It did take me a long time to come to the realization that it is pointless to counter their arguments or take them on. They seem to relish in putting people down by trying to come across that what they think, do or have is somehow better than others. Taking them on is being entrapped in their vortex of toxic negativity, childish competitiveness and self importance. Keep this ilk at an arm’s length. Doing so will keep your dignity and sanity intact. The worst types are the sly ones who camouflage their insults as jokes. When you take them on they gaslight you by either saying that you are weak and can’t take a joke or else claim to be hurt when you tell them they aren’t funny. They play the victim and expect an apology for allegedly hurting their feelings. These folks normally have very few friends and try to latch on the naive who do not know them. It is only a matter of time that their passive aggressive behaviour comes to the fore. In the beginning they put on a mask of kind attention. It slowly disintegrates when they realize that they can’t own you. Then you encounter their real ego: a voracious tornado to run away from.

I’ve had to start not reacting to my son’s mother because I learned that she isn’t trying to communicate with me, she wants to communicate at me. As soon as I don’t respond the way she wants me to there’s a problem. I started not reacting or responding when she comes at me emotionally. I refuse to let her bad energy transfer to me any more.
