  • Spring has returned and so have a beautiful bunch of blooms. In this Nature Note, we will take a look at some small, white, blossoms of spring that herald the arrival of the growing season.
    Dicentra cucullaria, commonly called Dutchman's breeches, and Dicentra canadensis, or squirrel corn, are fascinating members of the poppy family. These low-growing ephemerals are a wonderful resource for emerging bumble bees but also rely on a secondary insect assistant for their reproduction. Who could this mystery critter be?
