Each time Marc Wilson entered the field of play, he cost the Raiders something. Al Davis must have had a hard on for him because I just can't figure out how he remained on the roster year after year. He had all the talent and results of Mark Malone which is to say he overturned the ball routinely and had a low completion percentage. Yet he kept getting opportunity after opportunity to start as though the Raiders thought they would receive something different than what he kept giving them.
@@MGAF688 As a Charger fan, I was always happy to see Marc Wilson because I knew we would have a chance. Jim Pruitt had our number and his scrambling ability and accuracy was too for us.
@@MGAF688 It's all because he had that one game against Dallas in 1983, that made him golden or silver in the eyes of Al Davis. But dude was such a fucking joke.
Snazzy San Diego uniforms. Their defense gave up gobs of points in 1985. Ironically, starting around 1988/89, through the early-1990s, it would be the Charger defense that was the team's strong suit, and the offense would struggle, with quarterback, Fouts, having retired.
in the early- to mid-80s, even a high school football team could have moved the ball up and down the field at will against San Diego's pathetic excuse for a "defense." If their defense had merely been mediocre instead of one of the worst in NFL history, they would have won at least two AFC championships and at least one Super Bowl.
If you listen to the video in 1985 we ended up finally firing Tom Bass and promoting Dave Adolph. He simplified the defense and we were a lot better. Jeff Dale and I ended up being first team defense All Rookie.
Played in this game #29 starting cornerback. Also RIP to my teammate #20 Wayne Davis who passed in 2008
I remember you well. I was a big Air Coyrell fan back then. Much respect my brother.
That's cool as hell man. Checked your stats . Awesome.rookie season .. saw you had a TD which game did you have a pick 6 in? Take care man
Gary Anderson & LIttle Train James ran wild on this day, GREAT GAME!
Little Train James (the RB that scored the game winning TD) just died. R.I.P.
Marc Wilson cost the Raiders a Super Bowl berth in 1985.

They would’ve lost to the Bears anyways

Wes chandler was a very underrated receiver back in the 80’s
Anyone know the music score at the 14:00 minute mark?
I went to this game.

This would be the last loss of the regular season for the Silver and Black.
Chargers could never beat Raiders when it mattered. Going back to 1980. Eugene Klein was such a CHEAPSKATE.
