Hi Harris - great video. I have a feeling I would value 3mm of shelf space more than a Dennis Waterman album - but maybe I'm wrong, I often am. Keep taking the Cure, all the best - D
What I'm doing after this is none of your business Harris. 😅 I like your t - shirt , do you wear it to the pub alot ? I like Morrissey , i was into the Smiths,in the 1980s. I have never heard of The Groundhogs. I will check them out on youtube. I own a live in concert of REM , it's recorded by the BBC. I have it on cd. It's very good. Michael Stipe is a good songwriter. I'm about to put on Simple Minds record New Gold Dream . Do you like them ?. I have that album Stars by Simply Red. Good songs on it. Have yourself a Merry little Christmas Harris. From Carl.
Hi carl. No that t-shirt was worn on a fancy dress a few years ago! I like the first two Simple Minds albums, very enjoyable. Yes that REM BBC concert is excellent! Have a great Christmas Carl, thanks for your support! 🙂
I refuse to show Morrissey or Smiths records on my channel now; I guess I've cancelled him but I'm sure he can handle that. Meat Puppets II, wow that is an amazing pickup. Got it on CD but never hear anyone talk about it. Come to that I haven't listened to it myself for years so must dig it out. I started playing the drums in the early nineties as baggy was happening, so one of the first beats I had to learn was that shuffley thing, which is incredibly difficult and yes, I cocked it up completely in our first gig. One of my favourite singles from the 80s is 'The Big Apple' 'by Kajagoogoo - picked up the 45 recently from Oxfam. Our local pub near our house is just a living room. It's disconcerting but the food is great. Good pick-ups!
Hi James, yeah I fell in love with SST records around 86 & was lucky to pick up all the big albums by the major players cheap back then,,,,but Meat Puppets escaped me. This cost me more than the other 25 SST albums I had previously bought combined..which tells you how cheap second hand vinyl was back then. Yeah Mozzer is a prickly one, I can sort of seperate the artist form the politics, but its always on my mind now when I play the records. Kajagoogoo , abit like Level 42 were actually great musicians looking back, didnt really appreciate it at the time. Theres almost a David Sylvian quality to 'Too Shy' I just dismissed it at the time. This 12" is great.
World Machine by Level 42 is a top 10 eighties record for me.
Ooooh I've got a couple of Ray McCVay albums they are pretty decent shame he kept his movember all year possibly an adult lifetime. The 'stars' have aligned (see what i did there) on the simply red 12" as i picked it one up for a squid. Obviously don't like their football team but something said pick it up you'll regret if you don't - so i was correct. Hmmmmmm think I'd now very much like to meet Ed Topo too if he's dishing out freebies 😊
Ed;s the man! He's gone digital, so is downsizing. His musical knowledge is insane, & he's done some studio work. Yeah I love this 'Stars' 12" just a lovely tune, Mick's actually got a great voice. 'Holding Back the Years' is a wonderful track. Up the Saints! 😂
When you opened with Morrissey I knew we were in for a rant 🤔. Dare I say 'Disco' is the best track on the album? I certainly believe in England Breakfast for the English! 'When Our Friends Become Successful' is planned for my new channel intro ; ). Wilko Johnson should have guested for the groudhogs yes/no? Wendell Gee, not for me (REM became the USA Simply Red, prove me wrong), but a good one for the sad bugger tag. What with our buys syncronicity n all i'm releived that I got that Peek a Boo a few months ago, Im ahead of the shark. I'll be honest here I scrolled the Simmply Red but I had to stop at the mighty K-Gogo. Neverending Story is one of the all time theme songs. Limahl is a genius. You missed an incredible link, Dennis Waterman was in a film called 'The First Kangaroos'! I have to admit that if I were in a pub and a friend gave me a Dennis Waterman LP I would have to try very hard not to say 'Do you actually know me?
The wierd thing is I've had a few people pile in on me about the Moz part (which is fine, i've no problem with that) but if you rewatch it i've been pretty even handed. i say the albums brilliant, I concede the two songs I mention are ambigous & I admit i've never got to the bottom of it and its lyrically interesting. I think a couple of people wanted a 'anti-woke' pile on without actually listening to what i said! 😂 Ooh didnt know you got peek-a-boo! Neverending Story is on the wants list..i'm going to guess its over a fiver as I never see it!
@@Harrispilton22 😲I'm not sure which is worse, a mozzer pile on or the fact that we are both desperately seeking Kajas Neverending Story! 🤣 I feel that THIS would be a great topic for discussion sometime 🤔 I agree you rode the evenhandedness with sheer VC proffesionalism. The replies show you as a great debater, I feel together we can smash these topics down with a few pints down the pub, and maybe a bit of agro afterwards 😉 👍
Two bottles of Thunderbird will do it, Harris! Gettin baggy with Mick Hucknall, right wing with Morrissey and slappin da bass with Kajagoogoo! That video had it all… terrific stuff 👌
Fretless bass and Thunderbird..thats a standard weekend round these parts fellah! 🤣 I thought I was quite fair about the Moz, i admitted lyrically its a thought provoking album& there are differing interpretations to the songs I mentioned..& ultimately I love the album...a couple of commenters seemed to interpet it as an woke tirade 😆 Thats modern debate I guess..shoot first ask questions later! Hope all is well with you my friend!
Love that the Groundhogs can’t really be classified, despite people calling them blues rock or Prog. Hope you enjoy Split. The Mock Turtles - that’s a blast from ye past!
Yeah that shuffle beat wasnt destined to last long. I'm loving this Groundhogs. Its not really my wheelhouse, but the bands i love in this era have this wierd British surrealism like Floyd up to about 69, or some Crimson or Roy Harper, i've got his theory its tied in to growing up post war as kids, being evacuated ,seeing your family in gasmasks, fear of being bombed..etc I never hear it in American bands, its sort of whimsical, but slightly terrifying. I cant quite put my finger on it. I'm trying to think of American bands with the same qualities.
There’s definitely a dour, grim post-war vibe about the Groundhogs. Can’t think of any American bands with the same feel.
Split is a class album, so is Thank Christ…, love the Groundhogs. Personally, I’d call them blues rock, but that’s me, lol. My fave of theirs is Blues Obituary 👌
Poor Morrisey , still getting slagged for being a patriot. What kind of horrible person would wish to show his love of country? A country like so many western countries going straight down the shitter because of progressive leftist policies and horrendous destructive woke ideology. Such a terrible man, a gay man who discussed the sexual decadent out of control, overtly visible kinky Pride monstrosity that has infected every single aspect of society and denounced it.... Shameful. A proud patriotic citizen of the UK who dared to speak out on the dangerous out of control mass migration and the overtly obvious problems it has caused to his country. A massive problem that has put England into an extremely dangerous, bad situation that has very serious consequences....how dare he. Reminds me of something my father once said to my brother and I...." If you're a Liberal in your 20's it shows you are kind hearted, if you're still a Liberal in your 40's it shows you're an idiot!! ".
Well im certainly not a patriot, but I love England..so work that out. It reminds me of something Samuel Johnston once said 'Patriotism is the last Refuge of the scoundrel'We clearly have different views , i grew up in Slough & then briefly Elephant & Castle so very mixed communnities. A lot of these issues were slapping my mates in the face. Memories of the NF leafliting outside the football, the SUS laws, having to drive my mates BMW on a night out so we wont get pulled. Interesting times ..I actually enjoyed your post. I've never learnt anything from anyone i've agreed with . Thanks for commenting 🙂
What an excellent, considered measured, respectful response. Ever consider running for public office Harris old bean? Think you'd get my vote @@Harrispilton22
@@shanereynolds5380 Cheers Shane, appreciate it! I fully support any conversation/debate to be had about mass Migration, but I think my comments were fairly even handed on the video. Ironically Shirley has been transformed by Immigration in the last 14 years, its gone from a dump, to a thriving community.
Harris, I’m not sure if you’ll have any input on this but when they make the feature film about the UK VC, could they please get Julian Barratt to play you? None other will do.😂 Great video as always. i’m off to find a Wendell Gee 12”….
Hey Russell, appreciate it! I'll take that! Julian..or Tommy Cooper! 😂
That is a great Morrissey record. Wendell Gee! Awesome song. The Ray McVay cover! Just based on the cover, I would leave it behind, but you have sold it 🙂Well done!
Hey Brian Thanks, yeah I've always loved Wendell Gee, since the first time I heard it, very deep south! Yeah Ray Mcvay is a one off!
Excellent 1st Morrissey album - were you one of the Madness fans who coined him off ! He was never a fit with a madness audience was he … brilliant album but you can’t be ambiguous with racism which has dogged him ever since .. the follow up Vauxhall and I is even better imo - possibly his best ever including The Smiths for me …. Who will fill Robs shoes ….holding out for a hero to quote Bonnie Tyler You should do it Harris just for showing Kajagoogoo or are you … too shy!!!! Boom boom 💥
Hey Gav, yeah I thought I was fairly even handed about Moz, but a couple of comments have piled into me a bit..which i actually dont mind, gets the cogs whirling. Ultimately i've bought the record so clearly I dont have a massive problem with him , but as I think youre hinting at if you have a song called 'National Front Disco', sing 'England For the English' & then unfurl the union flag in front of a picture of two skinheads its going to provoke a discussion..which I'm more than happy to have with people 🙂 'Too Shy' 😂
You looked like you've been overdoing the Pina Colada's. Simply Red's Stars is one of the best pop Lps I've bumped into. When I suggest people explore it I tend to get surprised looks as it stands out a little in my mostly 'non pop' crates.
You know me Mike, I love Pina Colada's....& getting caught in the rain... yeah ive got a soft spot for the old beef tomatoe myself, especially 'For Your babies' which is a lovely tune!
Last week the missus made me watch the video for Simply Red's Holding Back The Years because it was filmed in Whitby. It's a deeply odd video, but at least Whitby looks nice in all its arty farty 80s washed-out glory. I once bought a Simply Red CD single. I still feel dirty.
Newsflash Headley, i've become a Moe Bandy fan, i'm on the lookout for 'I just started hating cheating songs today', i'm hooked on that song. Channel rebrand on the way!
Dennis waterman kajagoo and simply red …. Wonderful stuff 👍.
I've looked at the analytics and its what my audience wanted Rob Any chance of a u-turn on the VC tag, people are genuinley concerned!
@ hi Harris .. as I said in my video , 3 years is long enough ,someone will jump in it’s time for a fresh young face with enthusiasm to make the 2025 tag the best ever 👍
@@robwalkerletthemusicplay I wish i shared your optimism Rob, can see a situation where its multiple tags battling it out with each other. Lets hope your right! 🙂
@@robwalkerletthemusicplay You've done your bit Rob, noone can critises you. Its not like you left the announcement to the last minute 😉
Yes granted, Dennis Waterman was accused of trivialising domestic violence but as he said he punched Rula Lenska but 'she wasn't a beaten wife'.
Now I know why Harris lost. In trying to go after the elusive "Reckoning" vote, they alienated the all-important "Life's Rich Pageant" demographic. Fatal mistake. In the first video of yours I ever saw, you declared your love of what you called "taxi songs." So I don't know why anyone would be surprised about anything you show. Always great to see a new video. Being a clueless American, I'm not sure if I got your British VC references at the start. If you don't somehow inherit the title of King of the British VC, maybe you could be a goodwill ambassador between the VC communities. However, it might mean you wouldn't have time to listen to eight minute Kajagoogoo remixes so....
Hi Joe, yes my plan for my videos was to always set the bar low...& then just keep digging! 🤣 I thought Kajagoogoo might finally push a few over the edge..but so far so good! Yeah Taxi driver FM..its a state of mind..unfortunatley its a state of mind at 4AM when after youve had 26 turbo shots and you've just spilt a kebab down your front!
There’s plenty of more great Morrissey albums after Your Arsenal, even his last few records are wonderful. Politics were never really an issue years ago and nobody really cared. Just separate the two, what’s the big deal? It’s the music that counts.
Hi Frank , I think I was fairly even handed with my comments. i cant remember where you are in the world, but some people in The UK cared when it happened. I grew up in Slough which is 60% Indian, Pakistani & Bangldeshi. Race politics were a huge issue growing up, Race riots were pretty popular in the UK,. The National front had effectively weaponised the union flag, so songs like Bangali in Platforms & National Front Disco were a big deal for a lot of people. You say it wasnt a big deal..The Madness gig (rightly or wrongly) was a huge deal making the National press & sparking debate, this isnt some 'Woke' revisionism which i assume you are getting at. Unfurling the union flag in front of a backdrop of two skinheads was always going to create a debate (please note I said debate) I will never seperate music from politics, because the two are crucial in my life. Thanks for commenting.
HP! I love the UK faction of the VC! So has Rob W bailed on the Vinyl TAG? I hope not because someone less dedicated will likely take over. I don’t know much about The Smiths or the “Chairman of Chuckles” Morrissey but I do know about the Groundhogs and they’re awesome Blew a chance to pick up that Bomb LP awhile back They just aren’t as plentiful around my neck of the woods. Thunderbird?!? The rot gut wine? Oh my last time I drank that I ended up sleeping under a bridge with my best mate! LoL! Man you show more 12’ singles than anyone I know! It’s cool tho! Great find on that Meatpuppets LP! That’s not an easy find! Cool vid Good to see ya Harris! Peace ✌️👽
Hey Cosmic, yeah that was the last time I took on The Thunderbird..had an attack of the green apple splatters later that night. Groundhogs fairly available over here, but they actually had a couple of top twenty albums so theres lots of copies floating about Yeah that Meat Puppets was a once in a blue moon find, & cost a few bob! Great to nhear from you my friend!
12" Siouxsie "Peek a Boo"!
Hi Maria, yeah what a track...they actually had a 10 minute version as well, but I plumped for the version I knew. Hope you are well!
Coupla things Harris. Are you dating again and that's the reason for that T-shirt? And secondly, I finally found a shop in Tokyo that is 1/2 twelve inch singles in inventory and I'll post a video on that later in the month. You will plotz. I promise. TTYL
Still single michael..as Bill Hicks once said..'Its going to take one very special woman...or about six average ones!' Looking forward to that video!
Meat Puppets!!!
Yeah, that was a big find. SST briefly did UK pressings in 84/85 & they are dynamite! I think this ones a Porky Prime Cut who is the legendary English mastering engineer George Peckham..my UK copy of New day Rising is insane, Bobs guitar sounds like a sawmill! Thanks as always Richard!
I have it on CD always loved it !
Peek A Boo is such an insane choon
Hey Stunty, great to see you with 'The Nugget' at Den Bosch....he used to battle for wallspace in my bedroom when i was little along with posters of The Eurythmics & Michael Jackson 😂
@@Harrispilton22 Wow, that's very private ^^ But I do wish I could have witnessed the Ed Topo in return. Pass him my warm feelings at the next meet up
@@StuntrockConfusion Yeah Ed's great, knows his music too!
Nice finds Harris! I loved the intro to your video and actually thought you were going to show some Cure finds! 😁Happy listening! Hope all is well! Best, Steve
Hey cheers Steve! All good here my friend, hope all ok with you!
As president of the Harris Pilton US branch of your fan club it was excited to see a new video. I did have a sign on my front yard proclaiming this but took it down after my house got egged for 5 days straight. A 12 inch of Too Shy, do you really need that much of that song, makes me question your salinity but luckily you do have the Cure lol. Ray McVay, lol, Mexican easy listening, hmmmm, enjoy Harris.
I dont mind them throwing eggs Steve..as long as they chuck in some bacon as well! Yeah I think Kajagoogoo might be pushing things even by my standards..and lets be honest the bar had already been set pretty low! Mexican Easy listening is the new shoe gaze Steve! You'll all be listening to it soon!
The UK's chapter of the VC is legendary. I would be honored to hang out with you all~
Ditto Rob!
I always wondered why these A-list actors and musicians have to put so much energy into making their political beliefs public. Robert De Niro who's early films were some of my favorites has been bashing Trump for months and months. Along with some of the other A-listers he announced that he would move out the country if Trump was elected again. None of them moved. Thinking that they are popular enough to change the vote is quite embarrassing. <> Morrissey's political rants and statements never bothered me and I do not know why. I always thought that he was kind of saying things just to annoy some people. But all in a tongue-in-cheek kind of way. But I do hear you loud and clear Harris. Nice copy of the great Arsenal. My three favorites are Viva, Uncle and the great Southpaw Grammar. <> I really like that Banshees song. I love The Banshees. I love Siouxsie. <> Also big fan of Kajagoogoo's "Too Shy". No matter how you cut the mustard. It is a great song. <> Outstanding update once again HP. From one of your biggest fans from New England~ Rob/Boston
Hey Rob, yes the 92 Morrissey situation certailny was complex. Just for some context you would never have the union flag hung outside an English school, whereas in America i assume the stars & stripes is commonplace outside schools. I believe you were at the Morrissey 92 MTV interview where he is on fantastic form! I pretty much threw my lot in with dance music by 92 so my love of most guitar music was fading fast with a few exceptions (Teenage Fanclub, Super furry Animals, Gorkys Zycotic Mynki) so Mozzer probably got caught up in that..I've actually never heard Southpaw Grammar., must arrest that I've had a few negative comments about my comments on Your Arsenal, but i think I was fairly even handed...& i've bought the album so clearly i'm not that troubled by it...but to ignore the fact it caused tremendous debate in the UK would be churlish..so i appreciate balanced comments. 🙂 Of course Oasis reclaimed the union flag just three years later with absolutely no drama whatsoever , so thats interesting! I'm glad i've found another fan of 'Too Shy'. Thanks as ever for your comments Rob, its always massively appreciated!
Before commenting on your new Charity Shop & Record Fair finds. I have to say that I would never mess with the 'Twin Ambassadors of Pain'~ Rob/Boston Comment One of a Few
Thank god you've got your best man on the job. "I hope Mike hurries back with the cure!" "Oh no, Neil, it's Madness this week". There's my Cure joke ripped off from the Young Ones Sick episode. Mozza & the National Front disco...great description. Groundhogs are great & I wish I picked them up when they were $1-$2 in the 90's bins. "The Carmella Harris fundraiser, didn't have a good end" 😂Virgin Records UK Meat Puppets II!?! I actually dig quite a lot of their records that came after that one too. Siouxsie to Old Blood Nut nearly gave me whiplash. Alan Partridge is a fan of fretless bass and most likely has that single. The friendship is definitely over 😂Dennis Waterman...wow! Did you end going back to pay your bill to Ray McVay when you were flush again? Cheers mate...Ben
Great Young Ones & Partridge knowledge Ben! Yeah I think that fundraiser went so badly Kamala ended up owing Mike ten quid! Funnily enough i've owned 'Huevos' and 'Monsters' for about 35 years, god knows why I never picked up 2? Monsters is pretty poor tbh. Up On The Sun is great, found that for £10.00 last year!! Whats happened to Mike 31? I havent seen him for two months? I assuming he's getting his hair cut?
@@Harrispilton22 I was thinking the same thing about Mike. I been meaning to drop him an email to see how his hair cut went 👍
I first thought you came back to do the Sad Bastards Vinyl Tag.
Hey Ritchie, yeah i'm planning on doing that! Thought that was a great tag, desperatly try to find my copy of Tammy Wynette's 'Till i get it right' which is peak C&W wrist slasher territory!
Freddie King was The Man !! And Patrice Rushen is so so good ! Nice gifts from Ed !!
Hey Harris! Great buys with the groundhogs and meat puppets. I met Paddy at a record pop up sale in Hythe, he recognised me from TH-cam and introduced himself. I have to agree with Paddy that split by the groundhogs is probably their best. I’m surprised we still haven’t bumped into each other yet as I still regularly visit vinilo and the oxfam charity shop. I also go to the Southampton records fair when I can but my working calendar isn’t doing me any favours at the moment with that one. Gutted Rob has decided not to do the vinyl tag for next year, it was great when we all silently agreed that he was the sole provider and everyone was answering the same questions, now we will have a bunch of people doing their own versions and it will just get messy. DON’T LIKE THE BLUES!!!! Can’t believe you did that 😂 The groundhogs named themselves after a John Lee hooker track and covered many of his songs. If you enjoyed Freddy then you most also check out Albert king and bb king.
Hi Martin, yeah Paddy message me to say he had met you! He's a great guy, and seriously knowlegable Yeah i'm seriously cooling on the record fairs as I'm just seeing the same stuff at each fair, need to stretch my wings a bit! It is crazy we havent bumped into each other as I'm a regular at both those stores! I'tll happen one day Yeah this Freddie King is fantastic, i cant go down another rabbit hole!
I like The Cure ! The band's alright as well ! 😎 Your Arsenal is really excellent, I never see vinyl copies.. So far ! Viva Hate is good, and Kill Uncle would be nice to run across. Document on Cd is the way to go, I do have an original US on IRS, I should bust it out and listen ! I'm getting ready to show Grand Prix on Wednesday. Meat Puppets II is killer, and I'm into The Gits lately, constantly actually. Mia Zapata was a sensational singer !
Hey JT I remeber The Gits, sort of part of that post Nirvana boom, with bands like Hammerhead, Helmet & Janitor Joe. Grat times. I remember she was murdered? I think the killer finally got sentenced 20 years later? Kill Uncle is an interesting one, 'Driving Your Girlfroend Home' was a great track! Cheers JT!
When you have a chance, please listen to The Gits" Second Skin" w vid on TH-cam. Sub Pop is re releasing Frenching The Bully on vinyl. I'm getting a copy, pronto 🎵
Nice grab on that Meat Puppets II - also on my list. The SST’s aren’t easy to come by stateside either! ✌🏻
Hey Chance. To give you an idea I bought about 20 SST albums second hand between 87-92 (Black Flag, Husker Du, St Vitus ,Saccharine Trust Minutemen etc) The combined cost of those was less than I paid for this! I think they will always be expensive now as all the mastertapes have allegedly been allowed to rot away. in a shed somewhere. I'm pretty much just need 'My War' & & Angst 'Mending Wall' & I've got all i want
@ Those prices….man, I miss those days! Cheers HP 🥃
Good to see you Harris .always a pleasure .👏👏
Cheers Andrew, appreciate your support my friend! 🙂
Hi Harris, always nice to see your videos, great music and lots of fun. I really love Vauxhall And I by Morrissey, the one after Your Arsenal. Cool with Meat Puppets 2! Cheers :)
Hey Jonas! Yeah I'm an SST nut so that was a big find locally! Just got to track that Angst album down. I always thought their song 'Some Things You can't Get used To' was very Flying Nun. One of my singles of the eighties..the albums decent to. Can never find it!
Great charity shop finds. You would never find anything that good at the charity shops here in the US. All you ever see is easy listening stuff from the mid 1960's stuff no one's ever heard of.
Hi Cobra. I think theres reasons for that. The UK has geography on its side, where theres alot of people squashed into a small area, so you are always within a mile of about 30 charity shops.where in American I sense everyone swamps the same few charity shops in the area. More importantly my local Charity shop insa specialist Vinyl music charity shop, so it only sells vinyl, therfore I think all the good donations get pumped into this particular shop. We have alot of rubbish too!
Never would have imagined Lemsip being mentioned in a VC video! I am a fan of Simply Red and what a blast seeing that Maxi Single produced by PM Dawn. Wow. and for only £1.99!!!!! . I'd love to have that. Love that Peek-A-Boo maxi single and the REM one too. but I have to draw the line with Kajagoogoo. Not familiar with the Meat Puppets but they sound mad in a great way. Great vclt. Look forward to hearing some sampling of the McVay album. 🙂
Hey RM, yeah Ed, is a great guy. He's converting to digital, so always sorts me out with a few records. I think that Simply Red single goes for about £8.00 in the UK normally, I love it...& i'm not fan of Simply Red...although 'For Your Babies' always brings a tear to the eye!
Nice to see you again Harris. Hope your parents are bearing-up. Baggy Simply Red? Plus the KajaGooGoo (I do have that mix on one of the Now CD comps I'm obsessed with). Let's see your sad b#st++rd tag. Cheers Dale
Hey dale, thanks. yes thinks are good atm, thanks for asking! I really enjo0y that Simply red 12", I noticed its a £8.00 median on discogs so I think it might have a bit of a cult following, plustit came out in 91, which can drive prices up, but i think its seen as a nice remix. Thanks again Dale!
Howdy Harris. Peek-A-Boo on 12” has gotta be good. I get the Parade vibe too (definitely Prince’s best record). And you’ve made me wanna listen to Kajagoogoo, which is a sentence I never thought I’d hear myself saying.
Ha, ha, Hi John! Yeah the dry drum sound and metallic percussion are very 'Parade' 'New Position has always been a favourite & it puts me in mind of that. This Kajagoogoo is pretty nice, nice chilled vibe! 'Neverending Story' next on the list! ☺
Glad to see yer back, Harris. That Freddie King record is worth it for the cover alone! His version of "Going Down" is outta control good. Great 12s as usual! Enjoyed!
Hey Craig! Hope all is well. Yeah that Freddie King is really enjoyable & sounds great. I think its quite a hard to find record!
Hi Harris.. good you liked the Freddie King/Ray McVay albums! Just inspired me to mix a Hawk, Wind & Fire playlist! 🔥
Hey Ed, great seeing you. Really enjoyed listening to Ray this morning! Yeah that Freddie King was fantastic...i'm going to end up going down a blues rock rabbit hole! Speak to you again soon mate! HW&F..both love a spaceship!
Fun video. Every record here is a winner.
Hey cheers mate!..bit of a mixed bag of styles, but I love them all!
Wendel Gee on 12”! Thanks for the shout out as always Harris
Hey Paddy, yeah thats a vinilo purchase, clearly a NME/Melody maker fan sold their collection recently...been some decent stuff, See you soon mate!
Nicely done! Plenty of gooduns there. Thank Christ by Groundhogs is pure gold. I'd call it UK pre-punk, if that's such a thing. Split is well worth getting, keep an eye out for Hogwash (1972) as well, also a banger.
Hi George, yeay I aways thought i'd like The Groundhogs, I've always enjoyed the punkier end of prog, stuff like The Crimson instrumentals that start 'Red' & L'arks Tongue' Keeping them pealed for 'Split' I see it alot, I reckon Clive will have a cheap 80's reissue somewhere
Ed says... It's always a good night with Ed! The only times I've had 2 girls hanging on my legs they were 5 year olds. I paid over $100 for a Sun Ra El Saturn Disco 3000 with handmade cover and crudely cut labels...(they look like a neighborhood kid trying his luck with scissors). Well worth the $$$. Wendell Gee! Got a double 7" with it. Includes Ages Of You! I looked up MP 2 on discogs and my copy has a median price of $100. Not bad for a $6 purchase back when.
Hi Ed, yes this was a seriously expensive record, which I reckon has been played a couple of times. Its a Porky Prime Cut too, so always a good sign! Yeah my days of having two girls hanging off my arm have gone the way of my hairline!🤣
Lmao, I appreciate the opening joke! Oh, great R.E.M. 12" grabs! Never see their singles around here. Oh, that's a classic Meat Puppets record! Congrats on the pickups! Happy Holidays!
Hi Hannah! Yeahthis was a big find for me! The SST UK pressings sound incredible, the deadwax says 'Porky Prime Cut' which tends to be a sign its gonna be good. Really need that album by Angst 'mending Wall' on SST then i'm pretty much done with SST I always think their song 'Some things you can't get used to' invented The Strokes. One of my favourite songs of The Eighties!
The Clown Prince of the VC....who will be our Cpt.Birdseye 🤣🤣🤣
I still cant believe what Rob's done Nick! 🤣 He's ruined Christmas...again! Time for someone to step up..it wont be me..i'll be watching Mrs Brown's Boys on repeat!
Hi Paris - As the weather cools Norwich heat up. Nice R.E.M 12 " singles. Expensive Meat 🍖 Puppets ! Classic album.
Hi David, yeah not cheap that one.....Southampton are causing the thermometor to rise....4 points in 6 games...we're on fire...we'll give Pep a job if he's kicking his heels by next week! 🤣
Glad you were able to find MeatPuppets 2, Hope all is well
Hey Shaun, yeayhI bought most of the SST big hitters in the early nineties second hand....for a combined price of this one album..sign of the times! Just got to find a decent copy of 'My War' and that Angst album & i've got all the SST I need. I'm doing well my friend , i hope things are good for you!
Have that KLF record, in fact I have 2 copies so far and some of the Sainsbury's ones.
Refused is a nice gift, indeed ! I have it only on Cd.. Brilliant work of great music ! What a meet-up😊
It was briliant JT, get over here..i'll stick the kettle on for you , milky tea..twenty six sugars!😂
We'll be in Paris in the spring, I'm very tempted to leave early from France to arrive somewhere in England. Does it connect to Southhampton ?
@@jtsrecordroom3963 The channel Tunnel ends at St Pancreas London JT!
It is a possibility.. Mid to late March. I'd be coming alone. Sean and my wife would stay in Paris that day.
