Cool scores. On Fishermans Blues, We Will Not Be Lovers, I play over and over. Never listened to the rest of the album. Graham Parker I so good. All his stuff has something to enjoy. Never thought of Elvis Costello in the same way. Good point. Axelrod is such a great listen. Thanks
Hi Anthony, need to give Fisherman’s Blues a proper listen Yeah I’m so chuffed with The Axelrod Comp, not played it yet, but I wore the CD out! Cheers fellah!
Hey, I find that it’s mostly U.K. posters who have the 12’s, so that interesting to hear!.I’m playing mine tonight, in fact just stumblesd across The Waterboys ‘Whole Of The Moon’ which I didn’t even know I had. I’m not a 7” fan, I think they are more suited to 50’s/60’s music, which was designed to be played on Dansettes
Hi Harris - Very Solid stuff with Graham Parker " I Shouted Sayanora .. It Didn't Mean Goodbye " that's his best album. Waterboys with a song about World Party that Karl Wallinger co wrote .. Nice 12"s Japan & Talk Talk & Dream Academy ( John F Kennedy & The Beatles ) Norwich Didn't give up a 3 Nil lead today .. ✌️
Hi David.Result for the Mustard men! It could be all over for Ralph..we were garbage today! The fans are threatening to revolt! I haven’t put that Dream Academy track on yet..but I’m sure I know it! Thanks David!
Hi Harris, I love Clive from Reading, he is a top bloke! I have bought so much from him over the years. I love the way he labels his stuff accurately and as you say gives a great deal and I’ve found accepts returns without question, great bloke. Fisherman’s Blues….classic. Head over Heels, what a brilliant track, that riff is epic! Btw, I have written a letter of disgust to my MP regarding your exclusion re the Goldmine debacle, I expect repercussions. Disgusted from Portsmouth.
Hi Mike. Clive is great. Prices top end, but I must have bought over 200 from him over 10 years. He always gives me a generous discount. I’d much rather buy 2 great records for £50.00, than two aberage condition for £35.00. He was on good form Saturday & taking requests, he played Spandau Ballet’s ‘True’ at one point, which caused some hilarity! Thanks for your support with Goldmine Mike,!
Another great one, harris, thank you. Ever since you talked about that dinosaur Jr 12 inch that never came out in the us, ive been more and more interested in 12 inch EPs. Like we've talked about here, they were much more of a thing in the UK than they ever were in the US. The period 1987 to 1993 seems to be the real hot spot. They're fairly difficult to acquire in the US still, but I've been on the lookout for Sonic youth, pixies, public enemy, and many other bands that made some interesting ones in that era, Sonic Youth especially. They're also nice things to toss in your order when ordering on discogs from a seller abroad to even out the shipping charges a bit
Oh, I also wanted to mention, I've never heard of Graham Parker before. It's so interesting to see the things that take off in the UK and not in the us, and vice versa. Like the jam, for example. I don't think I ever even heard of them until I was in my mid twenties. Cheap trick, on the other hand, were huge here, at least for a while. They don't seem to have done all that much in Europe.
Hello mate, Funnily enough that Hraham Parker album did ok obverse your side, hit number 40..but yes, some of the greatest bands ever made little impact The Jam, The Smiths,T Rex. Kiss never really made any impact here, bar the odd single. It’s interesting! Somehow Bush were massive in America!
Graham Parter albums are always in budget bins. Squeezing Out The Sparks is a classic and the best by Parker. His 70s output is good but that album is excellent. Yes, Fisherman Blues, top 5 album of all time for me. The title song is pure joy, one of my all time favorite singles Life in A Northern Town, earworm song. I love that song. Talk Talk, I was never smart enough to understand the music. I did tune in for your Revolver box set thoughts, disappointed you did not show it lol
Hi Steve, I suspect Graham Parker was more popular over there than here..which would make sense as it’s quite an American sound. Yes just played Fisherman’s Blues again, helped me recover from a very difficult time in my life, so I hold that song very close. I dislike the later Talk, Talk, but the pop stuff is fun. Six part Revolver unboxing next week Steve...the year after I might even play the record! Have a nice Sunday.
Hey mate! Another great haul! I thought I'd depart from the usual lurking to say that if you can find the 12" of Life In A Northern Town with the white cover (its the "Special Remixed Version" or something), it has on the b-side the instrumental version of the Smiths' "Please Please Please" which appeared in Ferris Bueller, and sounds absolutely fantastic on a 12!!
Hey Dewey, I’ve been looking for that Ferris Bueller version for years, that’s a great tip! I remember seeing it in the cinema & loved that scene. I’ll find it! I find everything eventually! Cheers again 😊
No argument on the twelves, other than eventually it's a lot of shelf space to give to a small amount of music. Life in a Northern Town is a great song, but I'm holding out for the box set including the original 12", the mono version, the demos, the outtakes, and of course the remix using the Plangent process. Surprised you didn't hold off. Cheers, Tom
Hi Tom...I don’t disagree..but I’ve reached that stage in my record collecting life where unless it’s a comp I can’t be bothered to get to know a artists album I’m unfamiliar with..it tends to just get filed..with the twelves I get lot of play out of them...& they tend to be £2-£3 each.I’m actually looking to offload about 500 of my albums...I’ve just got to work out how I’m going to do it! Cheers mate!
Ah, I should also add that Homosapien was huge in my home - my brother and I obsessed over the MTV video when we were kids, debating on how “gay” the lyrics were (“Homosuperior in my interior” for example). That whole album is great. As for Life In A Northern Town, that was also a big MTV hit in the States, so much so that everyone of a certain age knows the “Hey O Ma Ma Ma Nay O Naya” chorus!! It’s an earworm but not a fave of mine.
Hi M..yeah I think I know it now.! Yeah the Pete Shelley thing was confusing. I’ve assuming he was bi-sexual? I think he was married?, but I originally thought he was gay? I’m sure Wikipedia will reveal all. Not that any of this matters! I’m off to check that ‘Northern Town’ video. Thanks M!
I love Ghosts by Japan..very strange and weird pop. Fishermans' Blues is very nostalgic for me, my brother and I used to busk it regularly back in the early 90s. Nice David Axelrod. I picked up the last 3 Talk Talk albums on CD recently after I saw an interview with Mark Hollis.
Hi Rob! Yes Ghosts was one of those songs I taped off Radio 1’s top 40 count down that always stood out (Not arf! along with ‘Party Fears Two’ by The Associates & The Model by Kraftwerk..looking back the charts were often quite odd...’Oh Superman’ by Laurie Anderson was another favourite. That period 78-81 was really fantastic for pop..although my absolute favourite as a kid was ‘Ring My Bell’ by Anita Ward!!!...still love that one. Thanks Rob.
Clive's stall is absolutely great, the very best at Southampton and Winchester. Got some gems from his 50% off section over the years. Sadly the USR fairs were stopped here in Pompey due to poor attendance. Shame!!
bit of a Clive Fanclub forming in the comments section. Absolutely top bloke, I must have bought over 200 records of him, never taken one back. Thanks George, if you ever spot me at Southampton say hello!
I have just got into 12" singles. I love Tracy Chapmans album. I went to my first record fair last week and bought moondance and meat is murder. They had 90's vinyl like Oasis first album for £300 😯
That Tracy Chapman album is starting to attract big money £30 plus, which seems crazy, but I guess people just want it & it’s not had a recent repress.Yeah 12”s are great..& still fairly cheap..& always sound amazing!
Hey Mike.Appreciate it.I’ve been subbed to you for ages! I remember the video where you were growing vinyl.I loved that video, cracked me up! Cheers fellah!
Hi Harris - Not been to a fair for a while but I hope to get to the next one at Winchester and see what gems Clive has. Wow I have that Axelrod comp on CD and it has some great tracks on it - also never seen it on vinyl before, I'd probably have had that from Clive too. I recently bought a CD box of Electric Prunes albums and I have reissues of the first two Axelrod albums (great music but iffy pressings). I hope you like Life in a Northern town I have the 12" too. It was quite a significant song for me back in 85 but it did get a bit tedious as it was played everywhere...
Clive was in good form today, he was taking requests!..he even played Spandau Ballet’s ‘True’..me & another bloke were laying into him, asking if this was the last dance!🤣 He’s got some decent stock at the moment so get in early, he did me Axelrod at £28.00 , which is a great price. He’s such such a nice guy! Cheap looking forward to playing ‘Life In A Northern Town’ I’m sure will ring a few bells! Thanks Dale!
I seriously had to check.. I have " Squeezing Out The Sparks" at arms reach ! Great album, and will give it a spin later on.. Stills ! Hehe. Didn't Tone include you, thought he did. watching the rest now.. ( I comment while watching sometimes ).
Yeah I’m playing that Graham Parker album now.Superb stuff.I was only teasing about the article..I was just trying to think of something to say at the start of the video..it’s the only way I can do these videos by teasing the VC a bit!..the good thing is if introduced me to his channel, which is a good one!
@@Harrispilton22 I know you were teasing.. I like it when you cut loose with the good ol' humor ! Tone is a kool kat , for sure.. I need to see his article.. off to work, it's Friday for me today !
Maybe this will trigger your memory: "Ah hey ma ma ma hey-y-yah Life in a Northern Town Hey ma ma ma ma Ah hey ma ma ma Ah hey ma ma ma hey-y-yah..." It was as well, a pop radio hit here in the States when I was in 9th grade. It definitely stood out on pop radio playlists that consisted of Janet Jackson's Control, Starship's We Built this City, Wham's I'm Your Man. Still dig that song, cool pick up. I'm sure your exclusion from the article was only because there are plans for a Harris Pilton solo feature.
Marcia!..I can actually hear it in my head now you’ve typed it! This is the extended version so there’s going to be a hell of a lot of ‘Ma..Ma’s’!!! This is why I have the best commenters on TH-cam! Yeah maybye they’re thinking of a ‘Harris Pilton relaxing at the weekend’ feature..sort of an MTV cribs..shouldn’t take long..I’ve only got 5 rooms.I can stand in the bathroom, answer the front door & stir my pasta..all without moving! Cheers Marcia, hope things are well!
Oh Man ! Japan is so good ! I had a chance to buy another title in Bangkok, and did not ( Obscure Alternatives ).. with the OBI.. Oh well, next go round ! 12 Inch singles are my favs , and Tracy Chapstick on 12 is awesome ! That Dream Academy single was big here too, and I love that one.. enjoy those Harris. See you soon.
@@Harrispilton22 Gonna look for some more Japan.. I have "Quiet Life" which I love, but could enjoy some more. I'm on a big dig right now, hopefully some magically appears ! Have a good evening.
Great advice on 12" singles. They are the best sounding version of the song you'll ever find, and not too expensive, and maybe you even get some b-sides you can't hear anywhere else. I've heard the name David Axelrod but I know nothing about him, so I listened to Holy Thursday and The Mental Traveller and they sound amazing. I guess I need one more record. Actually two, because I don’t have any Graham Parker records. With all this great listening advice I don’t know how you were overlooked by Goldmine.
That’s great Arturo, I only do this to try &switch people onto some stuff they haven’t heard Axelrod albums can be patchy, but the comp is great & Songs of innocence/experience are also strong.I was only teasing about Goldmine,as I sure you can tell Ilike to poke a bit of fun at the VC whenever I think it’s taking itself a ted to seriously! Thankfully people seem to take in fun! I rarely get a negative comment or thumbs down! Music should always be about fun..the minute it becomes an academic lecture then I’m lost! Cheers mate appreciate it!
Not 100% sure I'm gonna go crazy on the 12" scene, but you're right - cheap as chips as they say. I would say that I can't hate any of those twelves, as pretty much everything you've bought is fairly iconic. Just saw the video for Life In A Northern Town and stunningly, no one looks crap. And that's from 1985. Show me 19 of 20 videos from '85, and guaranteed someone is wearing something with ill advised sequins or has a haircut that looks like an industrial accident. Great stuff as usual, man. We need to get your press release game on, man. Let Goldmine know that if they want to be a serious publication, they need a serious expert... like the Piltonator!
Me & Goldmine won’t be speaking again. It’s over! I do love a 12”, one of the reasons is they tend to be £2.00..& therfore im not clogging up my collection with £25.00 albums that will get listened to once & filed away..which began happening a few years ago, we’ve all been through that phase!
On ya ramsoos, u got some great bang for u buck(£), good call on the Chapman.....crazy what it goes 4 these days.....great album.....u inspired me to dig thru my 12'👍🪗
Believe it or not Harris you have encouraged me to go on the lookout for 12” singles. Got another Julian Cope 12” last week for a quid. I don’t have good vibes about the Craig David Estate though...
Ha,ha.It’s better than it was! They’ve thrown a lot of money at it thankfully! I started buying 12’s again ,as (I know you can relate) I was in that ‘I can’t leave this shop without buying a record’ state of mind.Therfore ive started buying a record that costs £3.00.It means I’m not stockpiling albums I’m never going to listen to..& I actullly do listen to these frequently. I’m a sucker for an indie 12” Ep..but they are starting to rise in value...apart from The Wedding Present The Wedding Present are still £3.00 everywhere!
Hi Harris. Glad to see a VC video that doesn't involve an unboxing and review of the Beatles Revolver box set with someone waxing lyrical about how it compares with their other two dozen pressings! The waterboys are absolutely brilliant. Back in the late 80s, my first serious girlfriend borrowed a bunch of my records including the Waterboys 'this is the sea' album. We split up not longer after and she buggered off with my records. 'Life in a Northern town' is such a brilliant tune. I bought the album on the strength of that one tune which was definitely the standout track on the album. The only logical reason for you not being included in the goldmine article on the VC is that they must be doing a part 2...🤔?
Hi Mark! Yeah that Waterboys track got me through some grizzly times. The next track played on the jukebox that night was ‘The First Cut’ by Rod Stewart..which I also became a bit obsessed with for some reason!
Love the T-shirt. So much better than that overpriced tat from the previous video 😂 Cheers for the David Axelrod tip, never been on my radar, until now……. Great vid, thanks 👍
ha,ha.I found that shirt while cleaning out my mums loft yesterday! it’s 31 years old, it was a bootleg shirt I bought in Camden 1991, when I took it off last note my finger went straight through it! Yeah Holy Thursday by Axelrod is epic?Cheers Mike.
Great stuff... I've been seduced by 45s in the last few years, but you're right about the 12s... no one seems to care and there is some great stuff out there. I have that axelrod comp on cd and there's a second volume. I've got some of his reissues.. all fantastic... Great to see someone show it. I read about the electric prunes album that apparently the arrangements were so complicated that none of the actual band could play it so the whole album is done by session musicians. Fun trivia fact. All the best, Laurence
Yes,That Axelrod is great £28.00, so that’s my big buy for the month..normally £35 plus. I’m guessing me & you had similiar musical trajectory, I used to Hoover up all those CD comps in the nineties with obscure jazz/soul cuts. The U.K. had an amazing compilation scene.back then.I sold all my CD’s for peanuts..but some of this titles like Pulp Fusion etc are start to attract big prices. I found that Blue Notes Breaks CD box set the other day for a tenner, snapped it up.Glorius stuff! Wow didn’t know that about The Electric Prunes album.Cheers Lawrence!
Have the Waterboys on CD would love to find on vinyl. Don't see it in the wild here. Life in a northern town is a great song, now I can't get it out my head and will have to pull up the video.
It’s getting harder to find in the U.K. nowadays. 15 years ago you could find copies everywhere for £1.00..now it goes for about £20.00, this copy is beat up so was fairly cheap.Cheers Greg!
Trying to Enjoy The Silence but you keep waffling lol…another great vlog my man. Japan is pure quality, I am a huge 12” collector myself actually prefer them the LP’s
Hi Harris. I must make more effort to get back to a record fair ... I love Graham Parker; still going strong today ... Japan is a band I'm getting into more and more in recent years. I heard a fabulous track on 'Sounds Of The 80s', of all places, yesterday - Thomas Dolby's 'I Scare Myself - which reminded me of Japan ... The David Axelrod Anthology is a stunning find. I first came across him on the Electric Prunes' 'Mass In F Minor' on budget labelSunset (one of the first albums I bought at a car boot sale, along with the Bonzo Dog Band's 'Doughnuts In Granny's Greenhouse', also on Sunset).
Hi Carl,I’m very lucky the fair is only a mile away & every month, it can be hit & miss, but yes that Axelrod was this months big buy.Just saw you’re video pop up& saw the name Doris Troy, so I’m on that in a minute! I really want that Thomas Dolby debut album,I keep seeing it but never pick it up. I always see ‘Gorilla’ cheap by Bonzo’s but again never buy it, may have to buy it next time. Thanks Carl!
@@Harrispilton22 I'm on the look out for Thomas Dolby too now. The Bonzo Dog Band is an acquired taste, but I've always had a soft spot for Viv Stanshall and Neil Innes. Cheers.
Surprised I've never heard a Waterboys record, but I think I saw that one in a charity shop once, probably should have picked it up as it can't have been too pricey. I'm definitely more into Karl Wallinger's subsequent stuff with World Party. Yeah Axelrod is fascinating. It does sometimes seem like audiophiles are hesitant to buy anything that isnt three figures lol.
Hi Dan, I’m very hit & miss with the Waterboys, but ‘the song ‘Fisherman’s Blues’ is wonderful. You must have heard of ‘The Whole Of The Moon?’ When I was out raving in the nineties they would sometimes play that last track as it has a sort of euphoric feel. Hope all is well Dan!
Hi, nice finds. Obscure Pubs/Bars are the best. Side A of Fisherman`s Blues is great, especially the second song. Side B is a bit to folky for me, but still good. I really like Japan, but only up to Quiet Life. On the following albums i like some songs, like Ghosts or Canton, but they don`t do it for me as whole albums. Greetings
Like any port City,Southampton has its fair share of rough pubs! The Anchor & Hope was always one to avoid...but it was cheap..full of lunatics who wanted to fight you!😂 Yes looking forward to giving Fisherman’s Blues a proper listen, I’m hearing bits of Van Morrison in some tracks.Cheers mate, hope all is well!
Coincidence 'again'!! just uploaded a record fair vid!!!! I reckon Kanye could fill in for Sting and noone would notice. Gotta agree on the 12"s the 80s gave us the perfect moments Ghosts top notch japan Waterboys = find, been lookin for that for a while TFFs why not Talk talk, I want it life in a northern town was a kind of anthem good picks, Lads done himself proud who are these...''Doyens'???
Yes I’m tracking down some 12” that really improve on the original 7” versions . Bronski Beat’s ‘Smalltown Boy is amazing on 12” as is ‘Last Picture Of You ‘ The Lotus Eaters & ‘Walk Out To Winter’ Aztec Camera.Tremendous stuff.
@@Harrispilton22 jeez you know what, I recently got the ‘Last Picture Of You ‘ 12", indeed tremendous stuff. Also 12"S OF Soft Cell are the only ones to have
Someone just commented on my Ten Best 1979 video that Graham Parker is his #1 by far. Was that you? I don't remember. I had two rough years in the 90's. I'm not a David Axelrod fan. He ruined the Electric Prunes. I have that Dream Acadamy 12".
Understood! I’m not really a huge psyche/garage fan..so I don’t really have much to judge the electric prunes by..but I did hear on this album they didn’t write the songs..or play on any of the instruments! Wasn’t me mentioning Graham Parker, but I half expected it to be about number 9/10 on your countdown, as I know you’re a Elvis Costello fan.Looking forward to 1980..I’m going to try & get on board for that, I reckon I might have three albums that will crossover with yours!
Shhhhhhhh! No telling audiophiles the secrets. I used to be into 12"s yeah they are often cheap and uncool. Actually 12s had another meaning in our record shop it was relating to webbed feet. Axelrod and prunes I've heard of but never seen out in the wild but I'd like.
I think the Axelrod Prunes album is probably a bit rubbish, but the tracks from it as on this comp are great. I think a comp is the way to go .I’m still waiting for the 12” goldrush , then I’m going to cash in!
@@Harrispilton22 I kept about two Expedit cubes worth of 90s dance 12"s some cool some embarrassing (I like a bit of cheese, bit of techno, pop chart etc) you have a long way to go to beat the Boney M megamix.
Quality stuff as ever Paris, I need to check out the David Axelrod lp, it looks very intesting. Have you ever checked out David Sylvian's solo stuff mate?
I never have Pete, there’s a cheap copy of his debut in my local, May spring for it. Try-the track ‘Holy Thursday’ by Axelrod, it’s sums up his sound perfectly.
Grea t One H.P.....AS PER USUAL!!!.....thank the heavens above that none of those neurotic audio-viles are into your thing...no more cheap twelve inchers...tee hee...I always find it funny when Michael 45 gets a seven incher as part of a deluxe box set...he can barely hide his disgust and looks uncomfortable holding it..I still have The PINK PARKER E.P ....he was very popular Down Unda...
Hi David.I wasn’t sure if you had much love for Axelrod,?I know you were a fan of DJ Shadow..& I knew you read the U.K. press who started featuring Axelrod a lot in the nineties. His albums are often patchy, but this comp is great.
@@Harrispilton22 we have come to repossess your HI FI gear as you have missed one too many payments on your hire purchase plan...all unpleasantness aside, have heard his name mentioned many moons ago and was enlightened by you regarding Josh Whites morphing into DJ TRISH....oops....DJ SHADOW......a case of the young pup teaching an old dog a new trick.....I tips me "at to ye HP!!
Love that David Axelrod comp. Used to play that loads, the strings & arrangements on The School Boy are beautiful. Was going through some things this week and played this again which id forgotten about. This tune is ace, the comp is very affordable given how much the original 45 goes for. Had no idea. Discogs comments mentioned its one of the singles pictured in the Endtroducing gatefold. Didn't know that either.... th-cam.com/video/n4r00Gu1IxE/w-d-xo.html
Wow good info about the ‘Entrodocing ‘ sleeve. There was a rumour that Shadow was a bit upset when Axelrod got some attention because people realised he was emulating his sound..but maybye not if he put his record on the sleeve! The School Boy is a neautiful rptrack, I used to put it on compilation tapes for friends. Thanks for watching Charles!..& for the trivia!
''Doyens'', is this a euphemism for Bellends. It's ironic your little anecdote about the WaterBoys, that Lp is used in a Euthanasia centre in Vienna to put a quicker end to the sufferings. I had the first 2 Axelrods, briefly, in the 90's when hipster hype emptied my wallet far too often! Ideas in search of a harmony. HomoSapien, solid track, sounds a bit dated now. Pete's voice had so much urgency. infused with libido laden with frantic despair whilst submerged in optimism. Life, such an inverted, yet diverted, in my case also perverted, paradox!
I was quite pleased to get the word ‘Doyens’ in Mike. Always happy to flex my massive intellect. Sometimes I show a record & immediately think ‘Mike won’t like this’..The Waterboys was that record. Pete Shelly is one of the all time greats..I won’t give you the rest of my list of all time greats...you’d have a field day.
@@Harrispilton22 I'd like to take you to a field one day, a nice remote one in Patagonia and leave you tied to a Puma, not the trainer variety for soul boys, until your earlobes evolved a more sophisticated qualia of wax. We are all victims of circumstance, aka circuspants, even mindnumbing guff like the WaterBoys can force a tune into ones sentimentalisms at times, unless we have a strong super ego. I was impressed by your use of Doyens although I recall you mullared the pronunciation!
Hey Harris, mate! You need to step up your brilliant game a bit. 1. YT About section of your channel - add some contact so people can reach out if they want to connect/collaborate 2. Come check and hang at Rachel Ghost’s YT channel - she streams every day and a lot of VC creators, members and others hang there, talking music and stuff… She strongly supports smaller channels and brings attention towards them. She will do one again today from 3 pm (smt Canadian time) If this isn’t your cup of tea that’s fine as well - you will remain a hidden VC gem for a few of us to enjoy ;)

What a disappointment. Where's your Revolver box set review? Were you not featured in the Goldmine article? I swore I saw you in there. Must've been some other dodgy geezer holding a Smiths album. I like the 12" with extended and alternate mixes, some of those can last as long as an album...As long as you're happy listening to variations of one song for half an hour. Oddly, I have a single from around '65 by the bluegrass band The Dillards produced by David Axelrod. I mean it's no Holy Thursday, and he doesn't mess around with the sound, so you'd never guess it was produced by him. Ah, Fisherman's Blues, the album which begat the Levellers. That's alright with me, as I loved those plastic crusties when I was 17, and listening to them now still elicits memories of some good times. You sure you weren't in that Goldmine article? Cheers - Hedley
Hi Headley. Crusty was my kryponite! We’ve got Salisbury down the road..used to go to their student Union..& It was a crusty Mecca! Yeah I’m no Acelrod guru, but I know he did a lot of stuff, the Dillards? That’s interesting. It’s a dirty job Paul..but someone has to do it. Six part Revolver unboxing next week. Book early to avoid dissapointment.
Always love the twelves. 45 get those versions
Cheers mate, got to love a 12”
Great pickups, I must say I’m loving the 12” I’ve been meaning to have a food look around for some..!
Hi Darren, yeah the 12”s often turn up in Charity shops for a quid, so well worth a look!
@@Harrispilton22 Will do indeed mate!
Just discovered your channel and subbed you up, Thanks for sharing all the cool info and music, Peace!
Maybe this will trigger your memory: "Ah hey ma ma ma hey-y-yah
Life in a Northern Town
Hey ma ma ma ma
Ah hey ma ma ma
Ah hey ma ma ma hey-y-yah..." It was as well, a pop radio hit here in the States when I was in 9th grade.
Just listened to ‘Ghosts’ again. What a remarkable track!
@@Harrispilton22 Yes, I know you're teasing Goldmine! I come to your channel for the teasing and stay for the interesting recommendations!
On ya ramsoos, u got some great bang for u buck(£), good call on the Chapman.....crazy what it goes 4 these days.....great album.....u inspired me to dig thru my 12'👍🪗
Yes, love a dig through my 12s. I forget half of what I’ve got!
I think I can remember that ‘Life In A Northern Town ‘ track.Looking forward to giving it a listen! Cheers mate, great to hear from you!
No, you would be Dallas Taylor.
Ha,ha.that took me some time to work out!..but I got there in the end!
Love the T-shirt. So much better than that overpriced tat from the previous video 😂
Cheers for the David Axelrod tip, never been on my radar, until now…….

Yes as I get older I simply can be bothered to plough through another LP (excluding comps) Amazing sound, cheap, what’s not to love?

Yeah I’m no Acelrod guru, but I know he did a lot of stuff, the Dillards? That’s interesting.
