I’m the same way with Neil Young. Some albums I love but most albums I just can’t get into. Zuma is one of those albums that I love. Nice Public Enemy and Beatnuts find! I’ve been on a hip hop 12” kick lately. So many great B sides and remixes from the late 80’s and early 90’s. Cheers! ✌️
Yeah, that Big Pun verse! Up there with Nas’s first & Busta’s on ‘Scenario’ Those 12” sound great, the problem is I don’t want to hear the albums as they just don’t hit as hard at 33rpm with 12 other tracks. Thanks mate.

Good evening Harris. Man did I like your Finsbury Park flashback review. I remember that show well. I went to quite a few shows on that tour. About eight. I remember hearing that the Madness fans were not into Morrissey much. So quite a few things were being tossed onto the stage. Is that the show where he came out with the Union Jack flag around him before performing Glamorous Glue? You got to love him. Sounded like a bit disruptive but also an incredible show nonetheless. Some super record fair grabs. I love everything that the Clash ever released. I even liked half of Cut the Crap. >< Tomorrow's my birthday. Happy Birthday Rob! Coincidentally it’s my dads birthday. Yes that gig was a bit of a turning point for Mozzer, he unfurled the Union flag. ( The U.K. relationship with our flag is dramatically different to America’s relationship with theirs) it’s quite complex really, but it sort of stretches back to colonial times & The National Front adopting it in the seventies.Obviously Morrissey Had been toying with what was seen as potentially right wing views ‘Bengali in platforms,National Front Disco’..so when he unfurled the flag ,things got a bit messy. Although Madness (much to the bands despair) did have a national front skinhead following in their early days. The Madness fans at Finsbury pelted Mozzer with coins and his set finished early. I don’t think Morrissey spoke to the NME for 15 years, as they reported him as a racist. England’s relationship with race is phonomenally complex! Have a great day Rob!
Hi Harris, glad you clarified the pigs thing for me. I thought maybe that’s just the way they roll in Kentucky. I think they also used dogs, but that struck me eminently sensible.
Great stuff - Lee Perry, Clash, Public Enemy. I'd be thrilled to come home from a record fair with all of that! And Your Bird Can Sing might be my favourite Beatles song, and September Gurls is one of the best songs ever. Neil Young has done so many different types of records that there's no way to like them all, I don't think. I generally like everything of his from the 70's but some of it is a bit dark, and not fun to listen to. I have to be feeling pretty energetic to listen to On The Beach so that I can afford to have some energy drained out of me. Janie Jones is partly responsible for at least one noise complaint that I received. I came home late and apparently had to hear it three times in a row.
Hi Arturo.Yeah Janie Jones is such a perfect opener.I think they’re best tbh.I’d take it over 90% of London Calling. The Lee Perry was a new shop buy. Great album, but as I said maybye the CD offers better value & some great lesser know tracks. If it’s about £11.00 then it’s worth buying. There’s probably about 5/6 Neil Young albums I like, this is one of them Maybye ‘After’ ‘Ragged Glory’ and the early ones. His debut with the awful sleeve is a bit underrated tbh. Thanks as ever Arturo.
Hi Harris. Some great pickups. £25 for a Clash first press sounds pretty damn good to me, especially in that condition. I love Neil Young and love Zumaa. Cortez the Killer and Danger Bird are absolute class. Great stuff, enjoy!

Hello matey.....that front sleeve pic on the Clash LP,is down Camden mkt. I'm going there in a couple of weeks and there's a shop at the top of those steps I'm planning on visiting. Hello Nick. That’s so nice of you! I’m still looking for that Undertones 7” with the sleeve for you! It’s probably the album, the 12” is pretty scarce & horribly expensive, so only if it’s mega cheap! Still shocked I found Divine Madness on vinyl. I wash I remembered more of that Finsbury Park gig..but I was blitzed! Ian Dury played in the afternoon, do not remember any of that..kicking myself! I was a car crash back then! I never drop in on Camden anymore, but well worth a google to see if any new record shops have popped up. Madame Cyn is always in one of those shops I beleive..Look forward to seeing what you find..& photo. What a great album the Clash is.Forgotton how good it is!
4:10 the Madness story; joyously tense... was that like a Southampton v Portsmouth match. I bought that visage 12" single a good while ago... must give it a spin .Midge ure!
Hey Johnny, that Visage 12” is pretty hard to find! I’ve actually never been to a Southampton Pompey game..but it certainly does bring out the helmets!

@@martinkdoorstoperception.1913 Mine has slowly built up bver 40 years.I’ve probably sold/lost/given away over 1000 (shops literally weren’t taking buying back vinyl for a few years in the 90’s) So much collection only has stuff I love now..but it would be good to get it down to about 600
You probably did! Outside my window is Southampton docks! it's a commercial port and we get those huge mega liners! I literally can 'Stand on the dock of Southampton, trying to get to Holland or France' as John Lennon once sang!
Who would of thought, a song called 'PIGS'. Zuma, top 3 Neil for me. Just got 1st Clash album last weekend on CD. Had it on record years ago. Never have bought a 12" single.
I think 12” singles were much bigger in the U.K.To get in the top 40 in America in the eighties you could rely on radio play numbers I think? In England it was based purely on sales.Hence why 12” singles were huge over here all through the eighties/90’s .They needed to keep pumping out product That’s my theory anyway!
The last track on Zuma kills the album- as soon as you let Crosby, Stills and Nash back in, expect a turdlinger. What was otherwise a perfectly average album, sinks to a nadir as a result of letting those po-faced todgers back in. I have a first press of The Clash- I love punk- but, I struggle with them. Always have. Give me Oi! I haven't heard The Bottle in years. I must rectify that. Loving the Hashim, too. Nice finds Harris.
Funnily enough I thought the last track was crap. Oi is a strange one, maybye I’ve avoided it because it got a bit stigmatised (incorrectly) in the eighties. I’ve noticed the American punk VC’ers are really big on Oi.I would probably like it tbh.Enjoyed your chat video btw, didn’t bother adding a comment as all I could add was ‘Great Video’...which is always a bit of a conversational dead end!.. it I hope you keep doing them!
I absolutely love Gil Scott Heron, and The Bottle is one of his greatest. It's unfortunate the very thing he hated and preached against, drugs, is what led him to an early grave.
Hey HP! Loved the Madness/Morrissey story! And I’m trying to get a visual of you all decked out in your Morrissey gear including Gramma’s cardigan sweater! LoL! Did you also have the Morrissey quiff hair style? Now I’m going to have to look up that Public Enemy 12’ single cover so I can see the pre “Clock Rocker” Flavor Flav! I’m gonna say something likely to raise eyebrows. I’m just not a huge fan of Neil Young’s music! Don’t get me wrong I love Mr Soul with Buffalo Springfield and I also like Ohio with CSNY and of course I dig Cinnamon Girl and Needle and the dmDamage Done but I don’t go out of my way to buy his records! Another great vid HP! Peace ☮️✌️👽🤘☮️ PS Shame on those audiophile Pig Buggerers!
cheers Brian. Tes I'm not a huge Neil Fan, although After the Goldrush is a favourite. Yes the Madness/ Morrissey gig was a big news story of here, because of the minor earthquake..and Morrisey got bottled off stage! Thanks Brian!
Hi Richard. In actually stunned at that, he was almost a household name over here You probably do, but dont realise it. He produced Max Romeos 'Chase The Devil' which you would definately te know & Produced Police & Thieves. His band The Upsetters were pretty big, I reckon you know few of those tracks. Thanks for watching Richard!
Hello.Fade To Grey was quite an iconic U.K. New Romantic single. Similiar to Spandua Ballets ‘To Cut A Long Story Short’ or Human Leagues ‘Being Boiled. Maybye not for everyone, but I’m a sucker for electronic pop. Thanks for watching!
Funnily enough Teenage Fanclub have a track called 'Neil Jung'. Zuma has probably my favourite artwork of his vast discography. That was back when you could argue it was cool to cosplay Moz I guess. Yeah that Lee Perry comp I can imagine must be a great intro to the reggae genre, which I am myself pretty immersed in atm as well as dub.
Hi Dan!..long time no hear! Glad your back. Yeah that song Neil Jung is one of my favourites They did actually used to cover that Neil Young track off Zuma. Yeah, That comp is great, but I recommend the CD, more tracks half the cost!
Hi Paul.Electricity update came through today, not as bad as I thought, so hopefully the same for everyone else.Yeah love Janie Jones, probably my favourite Clash track.Cheers Fellah!
It sounds like animal protection services need to be alerted about those audiophiles using pigs 😳 I like records that I don’t like either side of, so then I don’t have to take the time listening to it at all. Love NY’s more jangly stuff too. PE Rebel Without A Pause is a worthy argument for one of the great tracks. I saw Lee Perry at Fuji Rock. He would’ve been nearly 80 & walked on with a pink beard & hair. Legend!!Cheers…Ben
Hi Ben, Yes I saw Lee Perry at Reading festival, possibly 98? Sadly I don’t remember any of it! He was between Elastica & The Prodigy I think! Yes Rebel is an amazing song.Probably would sound dated if played to some kid nowadays, but that’s how music works I guess ..it’s Got to keep moving on! Cheers as ever Ben!
Not sure when a trilogy becomes a triptych or visa versa, I have Zuma , price has shot up on Discogs. You know what I bought Clashs 1st this very day n now watching this?? Lovin the Visage take care
yes! It’s a good question. It’s just music journalism BS! Someone will the first three Nirvana albums a trilogy one day, I guess it makes it easier to write articles about them!Coincidence with the Clash!
@@Harrispilton22 I remember back in the day it was a must to by the NME, melody maker, or sounds etc but thinking back, the sheer 'music journalism BS' could've stretched to the moon n back. They loved milking any n all overhyped tosh 😉 discogs says my Zuma median price is £31.50, think I paid a fiver!! Coincidence indeed I bought a Clash AND a Crass at the same time
Grace Jones in the background, she is the best. PE, those first few albums rate in my top 50 of all time. Pure power, Sex Pistols of rap. Thanks or clarifying the whole pigs issue. Good info, you always deceiver with the news.
Everydays a school day Steve! I consider my videos Edutainment. I felt the whole pigs/animals issue needed to be clarified...oh hang on there’s a track on that album called ‘Dogs’ ...I need to shoot another video....Thanks for watching Steve!
Hi Harris - Visage - Supergroup , decent record. Love the female vocals on Fade To Grey. The Clash .. turning rebellion into money. Not impressive results for the US or England yesterday. Poor efforts by both. Not amped up for Qatar at all. My New York Giants are 2-0 ..
Hi David, I used to love American Football..I’ve sort of cooled on it.I find myself watching 80’s basketball on TH-camBird,Jordan,Barkley,Pippen,Thomas,Ewing..it reminds one of what English football was like.A bit naughty, tensions permenantley running high! Thanks David.England terrible last night. No one can accuse us of peaking to early!
@@Harrispilton22 The Bulls & Celtics & Lakers & Pistons had legendary brawls in the 80's. Tall white guys like Bill Laimbeer & Kevin McHale would beat down on Magic & Larry & even MJ with repercussions but not necessarily ejections ! Smoke filled venues added to the ambience 😆
Hip hop albums cost such silly money these days, so I don't get why people haven't cottoned on to the fact that the 12s are all cheap as chips... Great finds... cheers!
Yea I agree, And a lot of hip hop albums are a bit spotty & too many tracks crammed on the vinyl.I think a three or 4 track 12” is the perfect vehicle for hip hop/electro/house etc. I can still find the 12” £2-£5.I’ve got a funny feeling 12” my start increasing in a year or so, when people realise how good they sound in proportion to the current cheap price.
@@Harrispilton22 it might, but I tried selling some to a dealer the other day and he wouldn't take them... said he couldn't sell them... I'll just have to sit on them for now.
Funnily enough I’m just playing this Green vinyl ‘The Bottle’ which was £6.00. Which I was reluctant to buy (eighties coloured vinyl)..just checked Discogs & it’s a £25.00 record. Dealers don’t seem to be bothered with 12 inches..unles it’s some rare 90’s techno or Jungle.
Pig abuse, the worst kind, they ought to be ashamed of themselves. I’m like you, I find Neil Young good at times and a bit of a git at other times. The Clash debut, just a wonderful album, love Joe! Was it the 1865 you went to? Great video Poundstretcher Morrissey! Mike
It's the side of Audophilia they dont want you to see Mike! Yes the 1865, it's pretty good need to make it down one day! How was Jah Wobble,Iforgot. Realised it was on & kicked myself!
Neil Young is an acquired taste I think. I only have a few of his including Harvest and Hawks and Doves which are both great, but I avoid his less interesting LPs. Love that first Visage album. That album backed with Ultravox's Vienna on a C90 is good solid hour and a half of total New Romantic! Nice
I actually didn’t realise Visage was a sort of New Romantic supergroup.I actually don’t own those two Neil Young albums, might give them a stream.Cheers John!
Ha, ha, I’m adverse to having my photo taken, so probably none exist, although last week my dad found a photo of me in 1991 the day I passed my driving test, I was at the height of my Grunge phase & I was wearing a Madonna T-Shirt.I imagine I was doing the Sonic Youth/Irony thing!
In the light of your comment -'If you were at the Empire in Bognor in 97...'' I hope some of your fanclubbers will take time to refect on how if it was not for the Grace of the God/s, it could have been them! Here's a question for u Arris, who is the greatest pop band since the 1950's, in the English Speaking world- Beatles, Boney M or Madness? (and 'shut it' with your KC and the Sunshine Band are, .....)
I feel I’m being lead into an Elephant trap here! well It would have to be Madness out of those three! Although. Boney M had their moments... ‘Rasputin’ I find the Beatles quite hard to listen to at times..& soon The VC will be flooded by ‘Revolver’ unboxings...which naturally I will be participating in , as a last desperate attempt to get monetised. Kerching!
@@Harrispilton22 Boretools I call them, for some reason for about a week in the summer of 84 I became quite a big fan. Not sure I've ever listened to an Lp of theirs since. Did write 4/5 gorgeous tunes. The correct answer may be Madness. Disposable nonsense that lasts 3 minutes that induces a noteworthy joie de vivre. I told Stunty Rasputin might be more avant garde than any of his vinyls, 'black' hybrid Germans singing gibberish about a quasi mythical-mystical sex addict in Tsarist Russia. Revolver,? I think of one when I watch your videos, next to your nut! Although an unboxing is not going to damage your lack of status in the VC.I'd wait for the definitive KC and the Sunshine Band 36 vinyl set.
Harris has been a busy bunny lining dealers pockets eh. Yeah there's that thing about Neil Young of which ones are cool, I dabbled with him after getting into sleeps with angels and the whole grunge hero about 93 time. Can't imagine your budget Morrissey look dunno why. Vinyl Richie told me early 70s he got urinated on at a soccer match here (the good old days). Is Southampton a big record fair then?
oh yes, I got pissed on frequently at 80’s football. you could drink at in the stands back then, and there was 25k people and about 6 toilets! A chant would go up ‘Let’s all make a river’ and you would feel a warm stream on the back of your trousers! Yes I wasn’t the most authentic Morrissey. That was my fave PE 12” closely followed by You Can’t Truss It. Absolute bargain on the Visage. I have Lee Sratch Perry on CD myself. Hashim, no words necessary…class!
yes I’m definately very hit & miss with Neil. I clearly remember where I was when I first heard ‘Rebel Without..’ I actually thought it was pretty ridiculous..then I heard it again & it just knocked me sideways.I still love playing it. I imagine a kid listening to it now might think it’s a bit clunky, I don’t know.I think it’s probably the greatest 4 minutes of music in my lifetime, everything’s perfect.
You beat down the seller to get The Clash for £25. Why do I visualise you literally hitting them into submission? I might be I've been watching that new tedious Lord of the Rings TV show, where all the nasty horrible orcs all speak with an accent rather close to yours.
Oh, I wrote a lengthy and insightful comment on your last video, only to see it disappear off up the TH-cam arse. I couldn't be bothered to type it all out again, but it was incredibly witty and full of interesting musical tidbits.

Used to be loads og bargains in the Market..but hard to find decent stuff now. Madame Cyn is always in one of those shops I beleive..Look forward to seeing what you find..& photo. What a great album the Clash is.Forgotton how good it is!
@@Harrispilton22
Dont worry about Jimmy Jimmy-The Undertones.....I got it from the very same seller last sunday 👍👍👍
Great finds great tunes enjoy the vinyl.
Hi Martin. Thanks I always enjoy my vinyl...although I want to sell about half my collection really.A lot sits around unplayed, just not enough time.Although it’s a nice problem to have!
@@Harrispilton22 im the same well 10% I could sell yes there is not enough time to play them all..i agree.. i just went through the junkie vinyl spree of buying..thats it now pri·or·i·tiz·es if you get me..its a rush..
@@martinkdoorstoperception.1913 Mine has slowly built up bver 40 years.I’ve probably sold/lost/given away over 1000 (shops literally weren’t taking buying back vinyl for a few years in the 90’s) So much collection only has stuff I love now..but it would be good to get it down to about 600
Wait? Did I just hear a blaring foghorn of some sort of seafaring ship at 2:18?
@@Harrispilton22 A little less conversation, a little more Pilton, please.
I absolutely love Gil Scott Heron, and The Bottle is one of his greatest. It's unfortunate the very thing he hated and preached against, drugs, is what led him to an early grave.
Hi M.Yeah , a really trouble soul. His album before he died ‘I’m New Here’ was very good.Very moving. Thanks M.
M did you just upload a video?I can’t view it🙂
I've not heard of Lee Scratch Perry, I'll have to check it out. I think Zuma might be my favorite Neil Young, it's at least one of my favorites.
Pretty, pretty good picks. I had not heard of Visage.
Janie Jones is probably one of the best opening tracks ever !
I’m exactly the same mate . I’m cutting back with spending ! no record fairs for a while . And a record shop once month ! Oh well . Hard times 👍
Not sure when a trilogy becomes a triptych or visa versa,
I have Zuma , price has shot up on Discogs.
You know what I bought Clashs 1st this very day n now watching this??
Lovin the Visage
take care
They loved milking any n all overhyped tosh 😉
discogs says my Zuma median price is £31.50, think I paid a fiver!!
Morrisey cosplay... photos please
The Clash OG for £25 is a good deal. Zuma is one of the better Neil Young albums for sure. Cheerio
Cheers Mika...just realised it was £30.00..still a good price though! Hopefully I can catch a bit of the stream tonight!
I dabbled with a Johnny Marr look for a while involving my mums pearl necklace over a black turtleneck ! I thought I looked the business! My mates disowned me!!
I am not the same as you when it comes to Neil Young, can’t stand anything by him lol! Madness,…best people band ever regardless of what music you are into?!
Hitting him into submission!! Headley..I couldn’t knock the skin off a rice pudding!! I’ve checked & it actually cost me £30.00..he had it on at £35.00..stil a very good deal I beleive!
ha, ha.I’ve been getting quite lot of notifications ..& when I look, nothing is there! which bugs me as I’m only really doing this to chat about music! If you do find your comment Headley, let me know.I will include it the ‘Harris Pilton Boxset’thats due out at Christmas. It’s going to include ‘The Lost Comments’....I can charge people through the nose! Thanks Headley! :)
