    I love Anne. I relate to her so much. She doesn’t know what she’s doing and and tho she does grow, she always stays goofy, compassionate, loyal, brave and forgiving. I think something people don’t mention a lot is that Anne didn’t actually need Sasha to defend her, Anne is nearly as head strong as Sasha but knows who to put her stubbornness aside for the people she loves. Sasha manipulated Anne into thinking she needed her, because even when we see her being harassed back home she still fought back. She just has a big heart and doesn’t want to loose the people she cares about. Marcy had also been mistreated but she didn’t care because she just wanted to live in her own world and have fun. Marcy also doesn’t like confrontation because we never see her confront anyone, especially over her feelings of not being understood. So if anyone was doing the protecting, it was Anne. Constantly looking after Marcy physically and later mentally, making sure Sasha didn’t do the same thing to Marcy. Also what I didn’t like about season 3 is that 1. Anne did not seem affected hardly at all after thinking sprig died, being lied to by Marcy AND Sasha, and seeing Marcy get STABBED. 2. Her personality seemed kind of boring, her lines were dry, and the drama felt forced. And for other small reasons aswell.

    3:23 She doesn't think she has a place in this world unless she has something to give. This is why I hate SW, the Horde and Horde Prime. HP instilled this into Hordack who instilled it into the horde. The Horde and SW removed Catra and Adora self worth away from existence to gain and give, respectfully. Catra (and Adora) don't think they can just exist which is painful to see as it hurts both of them still the screen roll credits. 3:38 Catra is more mad at the attack at her character than anything else. Gilmmer attacked her ability/abilities to exist.

    12:26 that looks like a sick ass futuristic cult ad/warning.

  • @aidcrazysol738
    @aidcrazysol738 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

    9:46 Also, Catra thought power and the path to power would ensure safety and validation. Both of these were untrue. It's unclear whether she wanted power personally or if it was all a twisted belief in the trauma brain to gain protection. (Personally, I believe all she wanted was kindness, validation, feeling equal, and, compassion and thought that power would ensure that.) 11:57 I doubt (though it is possible) that the Etherian Horde's grip on power and territory or of some form of it was completely gone. Perhaps when Horde Prime come in it shattered and/or destroyed a majority of it. I would hazard a guess that in the way Horde Prime operated by removing the last shard of individuality, previous Horde members would be driven away from the Galactic Horde. However, I doubt that Catra saw the available/path to and with power as gone. Catra just understood she hated it, however DT putting all the blame on Catra is wrong, a small part of the issue is the miscommunication in Catra's and Adora's relationship, (Catra's fear of abandonedment led her to be too obsessive with Adora, Adora's willingness to serve and forgive a person/country as long as they were on the side of good [Causing Adora to invalidate Catra's aduse to a certain degree]) and SW abuse, and the environment of the Horde fills a sizable amount. She is the problem, but her own path to that is not entirely her own and others are partly at fault. Catra says, "You're on the side of good now? You made me this way, and you get to be the good guy?" to SW in S:3 E:4. It both shows that she doesn't believe she gets to be the good guy and over the show highlights why SW is never really forgiven or gets trust. The people around her see the destruction she has cause and the lack of regard or guilt towards it. While, Catra is immensely guilt ridden and depressed over her own and caused destruction partly during and after. Catra has such a toxic idea of the world and herself it is so refreshing to see her get better. While it unclear how SW sees the ideas of good and evil if at all (like Catra from her first days in the horde and up until last S4 and early S5) SW has always cared about staus, appearance and power more than the notions of good and evil.

    5:42 Also, because of Portal, she didn't believe there was a way out anymore. She thought she crossed the line of the possibility of redemption in her own belief of what Adora and the others thought of her. However she rare thinks about what others think because she sees it something, weak and/or wrong, about herself. In her world view of "Everyone is selfish" she mistakes her greatest assets to change and rectify her mistakes as weakness and/or something wrong with her.

  • @aidcrazysol738
    @aidcrazysol738 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

    5:03 Catra never realizes till S5 that Adora never gets what she wants which is another identifier that both their World Views are wrong and the miscommunication that grew between them.

  • @aidcrazysol738
    @aidcrazysol738 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

    2:39 Probably picked that up from Horde Prime the same way Catra picked a lot of things from SW 10:22 Yes but also she never realized how bad the portal could go. That's her fault for not listening but not her fault for being unable to not fall back on tramua mode. Also Catra doesn't care the cost but she also thinks that all portal will do is bring armies through not risk destroying the world and trapping one in-between to save it. 12:52 You can also notice the shift by taking this line from Corrupted!Catra with her line to Adora with her line in S:3 E:4 to SW. She shifted more of the blame from SW to Adora.

  • @aidcrazysol738

    0:48 I think you meant Excusable. I don't think someone doesn't deserve forgiveness if they never feel like they get one and when other turns them into someone they never were. Yes her actions were her own and she needs to make them up. It breaks my heart, saying she can't have a way out when if she believed she did, and saw what the world actually was, she most likely would have stopped.

  • @aidcrazysol738
    @aidcrazysol738 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

    2:02 More like Catra didn’t have something to offer her and Adora did. First I love that you identify that Catra doesn't and was never able to get a sense of right and wrong. Not in the sense of "I can do whatever I want for power and happiness." In a sense of "I have to do whatever possible to survive and prove myself." Also, Catra wanted to prove she was Adora's equal and that she was a person outside of Adora. SW abuse was ment to drive Adora and Catra apart so she could kill Catra and use adora. The plan was to have Adora see what she saw in Catra not Catra believing that Adora thought little of Catra. Instead it made both of them lose their identities. Catra felt she had to advance up the hierarchic to prove she was equal, worth life and to be safe from death. Adora felt if she didn't do everything for others she would finally get her own place of existence. Also that Catra's world view of "Everyone acts for themselves" and her belief in selfishness grew when she was rewarded for it.

    2:30 This is why I am partly angry that Bow and Glimmer didn’t offer her a place in the Rebellion in Season 2Ep. 2, but I also understand that Bow hadn't seen the story of Catra or heard of SW abuse cause I don't think Adora recognized it more than "She is evil" nor told Bow about it. While Glimmer's character was not at a place to forgive or accept someone unless they had something to give.

  • @aidcrazysol738
    @aidcrazysol738 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

    0:56 I don't know if obsession is correct word, but I can't think of a word meaning perceived need. Catra never wanted power. The portal realm flat out shows that Catra is content without status and power. However, her drive for power is from a trauma response that power protects you from hurt. Also, her worldview of "Everyone is selfish and looks out for themselves," which cracks throughout the show but either doesn't break nor goes away until she talks with Glimmer

    I love how Anne only fights against Sasha when someone she loves is threatened. I've always believed in the saying- 'It's always different when you're fighting for someone you love'. Because us, humans... we build bonds to survive. In a way, we are a pack species. The pack who we choose to survive with, can influence us. At first, Anne and Marcy chose to hang out with Sasha. At the time, she was controlling and downright emotionally abusive towards the two. However, when they got separated in Amphibia. They all got a different pack per say. Anne got to be cared for and protected by Wartwood, and she did the same in return. She learned what a real non-toxic relationship between her pack can be. Marcy ended up in Newtopia, a place that respected her and shared her nerd-like personality. She learned that- even with her flaws- a pack supports each other's interests. Sasha ended up in a place that originally encouraged her toxic mentality. But later after the army abandoned her and Anne stood up to her, and the last two toads gave up on her. She learned only those who she treats as equals will stay with her in the end.

    You know, after watching this video I finally understand why I like Marcy and Amphibia more, than I the Owl House and Luz I when I watched the Owl House, I could connect at all to Luz, even though she is so similar to me as a child. her quest to be understood and accepted should have touched me, but it never did. it always felt forced. like they were trying too hard. and I especially didn't like how she just became a witch. Is because the Owl House always gave me the feeling that "Oh, you will find your people. You are so unique and special. Is so amazing and okay to get yourself in your fantasy world and stay there". Is like the Owl House was saying that, not only be inside my head was okay, but that the people that will understand you exists outside of reality. I know that was probably not the intention of the show. but the owl house made me so uncomfortable bc it felt like they wanted to keep me and their audience in the fantasy world. like they wanted us to stay in this escapism and I think I like Marcy and Amphibia alot more, because it does the opposite. the solution of Marcy doesnt come from escaping to Amphibia. Just like Luz, she finds her people, is popular, adored and respected in Amphibia. but she only grows when she leaves her fantasies and faces reality and listen, I don't think get yourself into a fantasy a bad thing. But it is a sliperry slope when you do it. and while I feel The Owl House and Luz was an incentive to fall into this slope of dissassociation and fantasy, Amphibia and Marcy just show us that "yeah, having hobbies and having fantasies are amazing, but you can't STAY there. the real world is just as amazing as the fantasy. you can grow up and still be understood. the solution is not to stay in the fantasy" I hope I made some sense. I just never liked how Luz just found all the solution to her problens at 14, in a fantasy world. Is not a issue for stories to do that, but I admit now, after watching amphibia, the isekai genre and stories like Luz's just rubs me the wrong way

    Marcy was definitely my favorite character in Amphibia. It was heartbreaking to witness her pain in the show. I felt Marcy’s pain when the helmet lowered because I remember feeling that at Stitch’s Great Escape when the shoulder restraints lowered on us (an old Disney attraction, formerly alien encounter). Plus, she was only 13…that same thing happened with Ty in Grossology! If I had a nickel for every time a 13yo was possessed in a kids cartoon I’d have two nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice, right? All in all, Marcy is definitely the best character. I can sometimes relate because I have autism too and sometimes like trying to interest others in my favorite stuff and some stuff we’ve got in common too.

After my last day of school, I spent around a week in a fantasy like world where I enjoyed not being in school and turned down the opportunity to go again that few weeks. Now, I wish I took the opportunity. I still hold on to some of my memories but I have mostly moved on.
