    Back in 2016-2019ish I myself got suckered into the online Right due to my horrible mental health state. I was told by some people in my life, and people online, that the reason why I felt pain and loneliness wasn't my fault, it was the worlds fault, and that there were bad people trying to make me hurt more.
    For a time, I fully believed this, being absolutely consumed in my self-loathing that I started hating and pushing away others. I lost many friends during this time, and believed some truly horrible things.
    I was led to believe, that my pain was caused by people like the LGBTQ community, minorities, and progressives and the like. I believed this because I was lonely and hurt, and I was told that this is the only way to feel better, to become stronger if you will.
    It took me a couple years, but eventually I finally started to change my beliefs, but only after I had the negative influences leave my life and other factors changed.
    Ironically enough, I needed to do the opposite to be happy, rather then see my flaws as a weakness, I had to embrace them, rather the repress the parts of myself that people told me was wrong, I had to embrace them.
    My friends accepted me once again, I became happier, I even changed my views.
    I dont know why I posted this, I guess I just wanted to share my experience with the world and leave this as a cautionary tale to other people.
    Strength and power don't make you powerful, only love and acceptance does.

      @@minimalbstolerance8113 It may sound cliche, but you should go seek medical help from qualified individuals. You can try to do some research on the internet and atempt to figure out what your condition is - while it's not common, I'm certain it is not non existent, other people like you exist, if you know what your condition is, you can than seek out support groups where people like you share their stories and support each other.
      In regards to this comment ( but in general too ) do not join the Right, no matter what they tell you, hating others won't help you with your situation, it can infact make it even worse - as this cartoon showed, you can push those who love you away. And even though you may not feel their love or can't feel love towards them ( IDK your precise condition ) there are still people who do love you.

    I always though that horde prime and his empire was supposed to represent Christianity, the use of light and dark, creation in image, loss and mass killing of others, family structure, purity and ‘freedom’ being a theme, seeing thoughts, indoctrination, severe punishment for things that are not deserving of this, ‘chipping’, contradiction, etc.

    • @drilltotheheavens1695
      @drilltotheheavens1695 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Your entitled to your artistic interpretation. I will say however that all groups have there bad apples, that often steal the light from the good it can do. Christianity is divided into different groups each with wildly differing beliefs on certain things, depending on who you ask you will get very different answers. I acknowledge that the church has done a lot of damage over the centuries, but there is always effort to try and change for the better and it has. There are still problems yes, but we strive to reform. I can see why you think the things you do. But please understand that there are legitimately good people who practice Christianity. You just don’t always see them because of all distractions caused by the louder more unsavory types. Please try to understand that at the end of the day, it’s a message of Love. People are flawed and man of them can’t see the flaws In their actions, they do the bad they do not because of there religion but because of there own problems. Whether it come from how they were raised or something completely different. I REALLY do believe that it’s done more good than bad to people across the world. Horde prime to me is fascism, but I can also see him as a mortal man playing god and manipulating faith for his own benefit. I know I went on for long but I really care about this subject, I hope you have a nice day and I wish you the best.
      Edit: it’s been a while since I’ve done this kind of writing so this whole thing may be a bit unorganized. Either way thank you for reading the whole thing if you do.

      @@drilltotheheavens1695 One of the things that worries me about Horde Prime is that I think Noelle Stevenson may have been using him to validate her insecurities about Christianity and God in particular. The reason I say this is because she was raised in a cult of twisted Christians which has no doubt given her a negative view of the religion as a whole. She confirmed that she became an atheist in her early twenties and this is no doubt because of her experiences in the cult. Prime was based on people she's known in her life and the most concerning part is that he's as close to being a god as any mortal creature can be, which isn't just frightening in terms of making him an almost unstoppable enemy, but also because it could give people a negative view of God Himself. I don't know if Stevenson did that on purpose because, like I said, she's an atheist now but it seems to me that many atheists get angry with God which contradicts their assertion that He doesn't exist.
      One of the reasons I'm on the fence about converting to Christianity, despite having looked into the historical evidence of the Resurrection before I started reading the Bible (which I haven't even come close to finishing so I'm not an expert) and found it to be airtight, is because, from my admittedly rudimentary knowledge, God seems to punish disobedience in a way that's very disproportionate to the sins committed. For example, is homosexuality really worth condemning someone to an eternity in Hell? An abusive relationship like Catradora (yes, it was abusive and as far as I'm concerned, Season 5 didn't do enough to make up for the fact that Catra was a terrible person for the first 4 seasons) might be worth such condemnation, but only for the abuser, and what about the perfectly loving and healthy relationships?
      One of the things I must acknowledge is that I'm not God - that seems to be a difficult thing for many people to admit, especially those in positions of power (which I lack so that might be part of the reason why it's easy for me to acknowledge that) - so my view on what He considers a sin ultimately doesn't matter. I can be thankful that I'm not homosexual because at least I don't have to worry about that particular sin, though I have committed plenty of others. I lack the selflessness, strength and fortitude of Jesus Christ whom I look upon more favourably than His Father (which feels like blasphemy to admit) because Christianity is often presented in a way where you're not ALLOWED to criticise God. Jesus answered questions and complaints without sending plagues or floods to kill unbelievers and also without asking God to punish them. He warned sinners about Hell but they were warnings, not condemnations and while He was dying one of the most agonising deaths I can imagine, possibly THE most agonising death, He was still asking God to forgive the very people who were torturing him. However, according to the Old Testament, God wasn't nearly as restrained when dealing with sinners. It seemed that if you question Him, even if it's due to simple misunderstanding or lack of information about His Word, you may be giving yourself a one way ticket to Hell.
      That, to me, is why Horde Prime is probably the most terrifying cartoon villain I've ever seen. Judge Claude Frollo? A lustful man with a huge superiority complex. Fire Lord Ozai? Just another moustache twirling villain. Azula and Catra? Abused kids who lost their shit because of the abuse. Hordak? A cult victim who seeks love from someone who will never give it. Shadow Weaver? A parasite who leeches off those with power. Even Aaravos from the Dragon Prince, who is basically Satan right down to having a thin, flexible creature that convinces people to sin like the snake in the Garden of Eden, isn't as threatening as Horde Prime because he has moments of levity where you can relax and have fun with him, like when he's teasing Viren (who's also a great villain by the way) about being "your little big pal". Horde Prime is NEVER treated as a joke and if he ever makes any attempt at levity, he always maintains a sinister undertone and therefore never stops being threatening. The slow and patient buildup to him in Season 4 is one of the reasons why I think it's the best season and although I have problems with other aspects of Season 5, it delivered on that buildup. Prime is portrayed as an overwhelming force of nature and what's going on underneath an already intimidating exterior is even more frightening. I think Noelle Stevenson might have been using him to vent her frustrations with God Himself and that makes people, including myself, more wary of Christianity.

In most analyses, Prime is most often compared with xtian mega-pastors, owing primarily to the show runners' experience with 'murican Fundamentalism and how much that particular aesthetic is incorporated into Prime's design, but this makes a damn good case for him as just straight up Fash. @thermalvision203 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great analysis, but I think this video should be renamed to "the Horrors of _Nazism_", as that is the specific strain of fascism described in this video. Michael Parenti gave the best definition of fascism in his amazing and quite short book _Blackshirts and Reds_ which can be more or less summarized by: _Fascism is a far-right ideology that arises to defend capital from the real or perceived threat of wealth redistribution._ This more wholistic definition given by Parenti actually explains why fascism is so amorphic, as each specific culture will have its own fears, anxieties, traditions, and histories for the fascists to use to create a false conscience in order to distract from the class conflict that threatins the wealth and private property of the capitalists. The greater utility of Parenti's definition of fascism over, say, Uberto Eco's definition is most apparent when both are applied to South American fascism, as it lacks the kind of traditions that European and North American fascisms have, and is instead focused more on a blatantly capitalistic, neo-colonialist ideology that's deeply steeped in specifically colonial racism.
    An excellent example of South American fascism is Augusto Pinochet's regime in Chile, which was installed externally by a US-backed coup on September 11, 1973 (how ironic), as his regime was a more bare-bones fascism that inadvertently pulled back the curtain on the whole thing with the suppression of leftists and the creation of the first-ever neoliberal economy being his primary concerns. The mass-privatization of Chile's economy and the "disappearance" of some 30000 real and suspected leftists pretty blatantly only served US and Chilean capitalists and didn't really serve any discernable ethno-nationalist or traditionalist agenda.
    Thus, as Horde Prime doesn't really have a capitalist economy to protect from wealth redistribution, he can't really be called an outright fascist. However, as he still displays clear signs of a fascistic and specifically nazi worldview, he can be described as a fascistic imperial cult leader like the perfectly horrific synthesis of zionism, fascism, and Jonestown.

    I saw Horde Prime's ideal of "bringing peace through conquest" as closer to the Roman Empire than modern fascism. "Primus" is a Roman title, after all. Then again, fascists love to model themselves after their imagined version of "classical" civilization, so maybe it's both at the same time.

      Because that quote is actually from the horrid communist party philosophy (which killed multi millions of it's own subjects through orchestrated mass starvation campaigns), NOT from real fascist philosophy. This guy is an extreme leftist whose got reality backwards, and is confusing an extreme religious cult with a fascist space system.

      @@mshaqed2538 Prime has not healed them. He has ENSLAVED them. Turned them into shadows of their former selves. He has perverted their characters, and used them for his own evil ends. If he is capable of dying, he may even drag them all down to hell with them unless they are freed from his grasp. He may say he is the light, but he has a black heart, and She-Ra is gonna kick his @$$.

    Funny how this series was made for the liberal gays. But the point this series makes is that thru freedom you can defeat evryting. Like america beating germany in ww2. How in russia people were beaing axepted for beaing gay, but when they lost their freedom they lost the suport.

    I have no idea what books you are rewarding but what you describe sound more like totalitarianism.

    • @xoventanaga2913
      @xoventanaga2913 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean hell. You have some good points about horde prime symbolism, but much of it is undercut since comparing him to fascists is laughable.
      If you believe facists are similar to micro chipped people, it’s much worse. The true horror is seeing someone who isn’t microchipped but truly believes in their ideology. Even if shown the contradictions, and are often viscous, violent and brutal.
      Genocides. Forced indoctrination that’s nothing like being microchipped. More like, having a brain drill inside somebody’s head that messes them up so much it screws them over for years.
      And fascism views any other races as inferior to the point of exterminating said groups. Not even bothering to “microchipping” them.

    • @xoventanaga2913
      @xoventanaga2913 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also. Now that I think of it.
      The whole horde prime thing is very very superficial.
      To label it as deep is giving it too much credit.
      Indoctrination is actually more brutal and scary than what they show. Children, not clones,being forced into facism and the intricacies of the brainwashing, which is much more cruel than microchipping.
      There is also the politics of the indoctrination and how it expands power.
      They also don’t show anything of economy, factory or production and just want us to increase suspension of disbelief on how the empire functions since brainless chipped people don’t work well.
      Lastly, the superficial idea of the cult like society is Barry elaborated on. It’s just microchip and hologram instead of delving into the actual horror of brainwashing.

      I feel like you’re describing Nazism rather then fascism as in Italy during Mussolini’s rule there had been 3 popular men that spoke out against his rule (I can’t remember their names) and were all killed by the black shirts
      The people spoke out against all 3 of these tragedies but Mussolini didn’t care nor did the black shirts
      Mussolini didn’t need the people to believe in fascism he just needed them to not act out when he did terrible things
      Unlike in nazi Germany where they had groups like the hitler youth

      Remember when cartoons had PSAs with stuff like "racism is bad kiddies" right after an episode whose message was "racism is bad kiddies"?
      That was in the 60s all the way to the 90s.
      Real world politics have been involved in kiddie shows since kiddie shows were a thing.

    • @Fuckallamericanpolitics
      @Fuckallamericanpolitics 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not just lacking, it's not even close when comparing to what went on in the show nor really of what he said about it. What went on in the show with the Horde was an ultra religious cult that wanted everyone to be forced indoctrinated into the cult. It had nothing to do with real fascism whatsoever. I despise anyone flinging that term around falsely just for brownie leftist points, it shows the person who made this video is a brainwashed leftist himself who only believes the mainstream narrative (which is also far left now) about other political ideologies that are more right wing.
