One of the saddest scenes in the whole series is Catra conversation with adora on Mara ship and it aftermath. Before hand she was beginning to open up. Like Scorpia said " this is the happiest I seen you.... shout this might be the first time i seen you happy." Two minutes later and one sentence from adora later and Catra is in a panic attack and on the verge of tears when talking to Scorpia. Scorpia must of felt so lost on how to help Catra in that instance.

6:55 catra literally closes the door but also metaphorically closes door on her friendship with scorpion. great juxtaposition king :)

I think Catra did not care about the Horde cause though. She was far more concerned at getting revenge against Adora whatever the cost or situation. If Horde indoctrination was a factor than Kyle Lonnie or some of the other horde characters would have been more dogmatic and agressive but for Catra's case it was shadow weavers abuse/influence that caused Catra to be more hostile towards others which was displayed when she was a child even at times towards Adora. This made Catra more conservative when choosing who to be friends with and who she could trust and open up to. The abusive behavior did not leave Catra it just expanded itself when she was given position of force captain. Being a force captain gave Catra a mask or artificial identity to hide her emptiness as a person.

Overal great analysis, but you forgot the bring up Catra's use of "Promise" or the desperate tone when she tells Entrapta to stay away from Hordak's lab, it carries a lot of weight for her, something left over from the Love Adora had thaught her. And the scene from whiteout where she shares her personal blanket with Scorpia. When Scorpia saves them you can see that Catra begins to see her in a different light too. Noelle said something about the reason why Catra is so closed off, to her. it's s because she's been shut down so much, she can't afford to open up and get hurt again.

If anything Catra used the Horde to get what she wanted when she pulled the lever (which Hordak did not want to happen), sent entrapta to beast island instead of convincing her to stay with the Horde and manipulated Hordak which reduced his effectiveness as a horde commander. Again the Horde cause meant nothing to Catra.

Catra: *You thought we could be decent warriors in an indecent time! But you were wrong… Eternia is cruel, and the only morality in a cruel world is chance* (flips a coin as Two-Face)

Beautiful analysis of Catra and her internalisation of failure due to Hordak's controllingness and how she took it out on all her friends.
One thing - you say "she never saw Entrapta as her friend", but I do think she cared about her in a messed up way. She was utterly desperate to stop her from getting herself killed in Hordak's lab. Catra also sends her to Beast Island because she can't face the guilt of what she's done, even if that means hurting her more. Also she was happy to see her and Scorpia happy at key points in the story.
I do think what you said about how she sees them differently is very interesting - Catra was able to see Scorpia as a friend, but never as an equal. Scorpia was "safe" to her because she didn't threaten her position in any way, but at the same time, this made Scorpia's validation worthless to her. Catra was never going to accept Scorpia's friendship for as long as she was chasing power in the Horde.
During the time when Catra loses all her power and respect, Scorpia still believes in her, and nearly convinces her to leave, but tragically, Catra learns about Shadow Weaver and regresses into her vengeful self. And after the events of season 3, Catra cannot stand to see Scorpia look at her so innocently, being reminded of everything she's done to Scorpia and her other friends.
Entrapta meanwhile is different - Catra had respect for her as an asset, but was very eager to manipulate her, being able to see through their shared insecurities about Adora abandoning them. However, while her manipulation was successful, she quickly found she was unable to *control* her. Entrapta became a threat almost immediately because nobody in the world was going to stop her from doing what she wanted, and her skillset happened to be exactly what the Horde had needed the whole time, making Catra's role almost irrelevant to Hordak's grander plans. It's also setting off all the alarms of what happened with Adora, especially when Entrapta steps in to "save" Catra and Hordak asked her to thank her for it, which is exactly what made Catra most resentful at Adora.
Catra has this desperate need to control Entrapta, initially to protect her but also to keep her own position in the Horde. She goes from emotionally manipulating Entrapta, to making her keep an immediately broken promise (holy shit), to threatening her, to even that not working and ultimately betraying her, but unlike when she first did this to Adora, Catra recognises that this is becoming a pattern - that she is a horrible person who keeps hurting her own friends.
Catra's emotionally abusive relationship to Adora is paralleled with Scorpia, whereas her rivalry and loss of control is paralleled with Entrapta.
So yeah, that's why she freaks out and sends Entrapta to die, that's why she tells Scorpia they're not friends anymore, and she latches onto the most malicious person she knows who has no baggage with her, Double Trouble.

2:39 Probably picked that up from Horde Prime the same way Catra picked a lot of things from SW
10:22 Yes but also she never realized how bad the portal could go. That's her fault for not listening but not her fault for being unable to not fall back on tramua mode. Also Catra doesn't care the cost but she also thinks that all portal will do is bring armies through not risk destroying the world and trapping one in-between to save it.
12:52 You can also notice the shift by taking this line from Corrupted!Catra with her line to Adora with her line in S:3 E:4 to SW. She shifted more of the blame from SW to Adora.

0:48 I think you meant Excusable. I don't think someone doesn't deserve forgiveness if they never feel like they get one and when other turns them into someone they never were. Yes her actions were her own and she needs to make them up. It breaks my heart, saying she can't have a way out when if she believed she did, and saw what the world actually was, she most likely would have stopped.
