I had all my windows tinted, including windshield. The roof is polarized so no need to tint that. Car never gets hot inside. I also live in central FL. I'm curious about range loss. Have you got less range as you're mach e has aged? I have a 22 premium std range and I'm only able to get 200 to 210 on 100% charge. I used to get that on 85%. I'm talking actual mileage. Not projected

The cost calculation appears to have assumed that there is no loss between the charger and the charging of the battery. This is not true. It takes a lot more than than a kilowatt in an hour to charge a car up a kilowatt in an hour. Charging efficiency can be as low as 70% and even worse if you are only taking the battery from 80% to 100%. Surely, it's still cheaper than gas, but not nearly as good as your math worked out.

I miss my 04 gt so fun but terrible on gas mileage I got about 200 miles to a full tank very fun to drive and still one of the best sounds especially with some headers and a xpipe

My car would not charge. TH-cam mentioned reboot. I looked at the charger and it was yellow coming off the wall. I shut off power at the box and turned it back on. The blue light came on and car is now charging. FYI everyone.

I’m disabled slightly so even though I’m a stick man I had to go with the automatic, still, love the overdrive, it’s the same drivetrain my ‘95 T-Bird had before some woman totaled me in a parking lot.

I have an 02 GT in sonic blue but I only have 81K miles on it. It has the 4R70W automatic transmission. I've done some cosmetic upgrades on it such as LEDs. I plan to supercharge it this summer. It has been quite reliable but I had to replace the fuel pump last year. I consider it to be a reliable car.

I'll be interested to see how committed the Tesla advocates remain now that Musk has fired his supercharger team while at the same time he took seed money from Uncle Sam to expand the charger network for Ford, GM, Stellantis and others who he agreed to provide charger access for those vehicles. He took the money while crippling the infrastructure he built and doubling or tripling the potential users in the deal. I just got messaged on my Ford Pass that my adapter will be shipping in August so the Blue Oval clearly is not letting Elon's histrionics affect the strategy. I'll stick with home charging my Mach E. At least I'm not dependent on an iconoclast with control issues.

To be clear, you don't need to use 1 pedal driving to get regenerative braking in the Mach E. The brake pedal in the car also uses regenerative braking and will only use the friction brakes if you slam the brake pedal, where you are emergency braking, where the regenerative braking alone won't stop the car fast enough.

So I drive about 20,000 miles per year mostly on the highway. My electricity rates are considerably higher (.04 per mile vs your $.0266) than yours, but I'll just use your numbers, except oil changes cost me $35.00 doing them myself, so factoring in 4 oil changes ($140), at 20k miles per year you save $4,187 annually. How much does it cost for me to install a charger in my garage? Or do you slow charge it via 110v? These electric things are hard on tires as they are heavy. Have you factored in replacing tires sooner than a gas car? Did the Mach E lose over $4187 per year? Yes. It lost about $8000 per year. But like you said all new vehicles drop drastically the first few years. Will it continue to drop over $8000 per year? Well, if it's only worth $24,798 now, it can only do that rate of depreciation for another 3 years before it will only be worth $798. So, I suspect you'll start to benefit much more greatly than you think you are now in a couple of years IF the battery holds up and especially if gas prices go up like I think they will. But.. in conclusion what you electric vehicle buyers should be doing is (and I'm thinking out loud should I choose to buy one) is take that roughly $4187 per year that you save and either put it towards paying down your vehicle loan if you have one, or stash it away to prepare for buying your next vehicle should you decide to trade it in on a new one because you will be RADICALLY upside down in negative equity. Note $4,187/12= $348 per month and a vehicle that gets 25mpg will use 800 gallons to drive 20,000 miles. 800 gallons x $3.50 per gallon = $2800 (big difference from $4187) or $233 per month (another big difference from $348 per month). Sorry, thinking out loud because I am/was considering buying one I have accidentally poked holes in your economics. And my price per kwh is substantially higher. I think I'll stick with gas and not suffer from range anxiety should I decide to take a trip.

You have cheap electricity, and/or maybe that Mach E is a little lighter than others because most electric vehicle owners pay closer to $.04 per mile and you're only paying around $.0226 per mile. To put all this in perspective, a vehicle that gets 25mpg on the highway will cost you $0.14 per mile to drive at $3.50 per gallon.

Actually the gas mileage is not bad at all average 25mph hwy I got a hemi 5.7 also and that has terrible gas mileage at 18 mpg compared to the 4.6L

Lithium batteries in EV vehicles are not recyclable and not environmentally friendly is same in laptops, phones, ebikes. Imagine billions of dead lithium batteries will pile up in warehouse spaces and cannot go to landfills.

2013 Nissan Leaf. ALL that I have done is: charge it, fill tires with air, add windshield wiper fluid, replace front windshield wiper blades. 11 years and never a visit to a dealer nor any mechanic. No tire replacement. The next maintenance item will be the 12v battery. 52,000 miles.

I’ll wait until There’s a 5/10 minute full charge, 1000 mile range, emp proof, and has a trickle solar and alternator inverted install on them. If I’m going to fork out 60grand for one it needs all that, and a 10,000 Gov credit for getting a EV vehicle.

I finally was able to get and estimated cost per mile for my 23 Mach E $0.13 per mile.

EV were amazing in 1905.

2022 ha average used EV at 66k. 2024 has averagr used EV at 33k. Gasoline vehciles havent budged.
