I work for Ford and had to road trip cross country to test BlueCruise... Honestly they aren't bad to road trip. You are right in that public, non-Tesla charging stations are unreliable but I've never been stuck in a situation that really screwed me. The worst was when I was driving from Atlanta, GA to Jackson, MS. I had to charge in Meridian, MS and there was only two chargers... a level 2 at a Kia dealer and a level 1 at a sketchy motel. Of course the level 2 was down so I had to spend HOURS sitting around for it to charge at the level 1 to get to the next faster charger. Apparently MS isn't taking public charging very seriously because they're a known charging desert. But other than that, I loved road tripping it. It's so smooth and BlueCruise makes long road trips and even traffic much less stressful.
Wow that’s good to know coming from you. Im currently in FL and may have to drive back to CA with the car once I purchase it in FL, how would that route be ? Im actually excited for this car!
I went all the way to Min in the California version and yes I did have to wait in some cases but I was able to do it and I will do it again! That's why Farley got Tesla to let their cars charge at their stations so that problem will be GONE. Can't wait till solid state batteries come! 10 min charging!
It’s a great looking car. We test drove one before we bought our Ariya. I ended up buying the Nissan (the AWD dual motor model with the larger battery pack) We bought the Ariya bc it was a bigger interior and I liked that it had an operational panoramic sunroof with a shade.
Blue cruise is only available for Mach e’s produced after november 2022 (according to ford’s website). I have a 2022 and cannot use it. Can you tell me how you did?
I agree on one point, it’s not a road car because the charging infrastructure is not there. Frunk, blue cruise? your salesperson should have mentioned those. You missed a big one, no spare, ford solution on a $50k car is fix a flat.
Yea the fix a flat is annoying but you can buy a spare separate if that bothers you I have roadside assistance through insurance so don’t feel like a spare is super necessary
The insurance thing is valid unless you have a Tesla. They have their own insurance and have very cheap rates. I’m switching next month and it’s almost half the cost of a premium with any other provider.
I bought a Mustang Mach-E and I would really like to have the Blue Cruise in Europe, unfortunately due to idiotic laws on autonomous driving maybe my grandchildren will use it.
@@cobracarlos well I’m going in tomorrow morning to check it out! Buddy of mine that sells cars told me to go in and basically: Take it for a test ride Get the money factor/buyout at the end of the lease Tell them I’m looking for tier 1-2 credit payments And 0 down!

Blue cruse is not hands free. about every 5 minutes the front screen flashes a warning to put you hands on the wheel. I drive two handed. I still get that warning.
Some feedback as compared to our Mach-E experience on our 2023 Premium that we bought in June of 24: I've had no problems with road trip charging with my 2023 and I've only had to wait for an available charger a couple of times. You don't say where you live but even in a big oil state like Texas, it's not hard to find public DCFC. Yes, it takes a little more planning than in a gas vehicle, but with ABRP it's pretty easy. My insurance only went up $12 a month vs a midsize ICE crossover. I still floor it multiple times a day. We leased ours because Ford had a $10,500 lease bonus. The interest rates are much higher now, but we may buy out the lease because it's very reasonable. The battery coolant does need to be changed eventually, it's pretty far out there in miles but it does need to be changed on the Mach-E and every other EV other than the Leaf. The Leaf has passive battery cooling.
Ford's navigation system in not worth C _ _ P. I began to load in the address of the location I needed to go. As I was inputting the address. Ford Navigation began to download totally different locations. Most in different states. When I finished inputting the address. The navigation could not find the address. Then I inputted the location name. I t found it. It showed a different location. This is the third time I attempted to use Ford's Navigation and it was totally wrong. Another thing I despise about ford's navigation is the scale of the map. Default is about 1 1/2 inch equals 200 FT. The map on the screen is approx. 6 inches. when traveling at 70MPH. You travel the 600 ft in a matter of seconds. You easily miss your exit notification. You can change the scale. So now you have a bigger map. You can see far ahead. NOT SO! as you travel the scale reverts back to 200ft with out any notification. As you are driving. You glance at the map to know where you are going. as you should you are looking ahead. then you glance back at the map. " IT IS DIFFERENT ". the scale has changed.
@@cobracarlos A cell phone is as new as my Mustang but used much less. When You use Google map. Does it show on the Mustang screen or just on your phone screen?
If it’s like my state there aren’t very many actual fast chargers 100kW+, the majority of the widely spaced remaining chargers are 20 or 50kW. The MachE can charge at 150kW so even the 70kWh pack short range battery is looking like an hour and a half to an hour forty five on 50kW, or four hours+ for 20kW. We need proper infrastructure which requires 350kW stations and when we get real electric trucks we will need megawatt charger stations like the ones we have now for commercial electric semis.
Progress as evidenced by Tesla having to lower prices yet again. Due to flagging sales. People are coming to realize that electric vehicles aren't what they were made out to be.@@TK-vv6to
Prefer my 23 MYP, and a solid charging network that I can do road trips on. The acceleration never gets old, and my kid always says dad "Need for Speed". Put the sunabitch pedal down kid entertained just made their day and mine at the same time. I did really look at Ford for my first EV for the fact of the dealer network, glad I opted out of old ass tradition.
Using PNW prices, which is about $0.09/KwH. Assume you actually bring the car to zero percent charge and go to 100%. For the 70 KwH battery you would be at $6.30. The extended 91 KwH battery would be $8.19. So, no not $5. But you are never going to drain it to zero and rarely charge to 100%. So, 20-80% charging would be $3.78 for the standard battery and $4.86 for the extended battery.
I think you really need to look into the filters especially your battery filter. That is the number one thing that will destroy your batteries is a dirty filter.
There is no battery filter on a MachE, it’s liquid heated/cooled. The coolant has no maintenance schedule because it typically lasts longer than the battery. You’re thinking of the air cooled leaf models that had all those overheating problems.
@@hugegamer5988 I think ford only started this liquid cooling system 4 years ago. So much is still needed to determine if this will withstand time. I’m surprised there is no scheduled changing of the coolant. I also don’t know if any others using this system.

I have yet to drive the model s but I love that you can get those cool rear facing jump seats in the trunk reminds me of old school wagons
You can use the tesla charging stations now if you buy the adapter for the mach-e
I bought the GT and you are so correct it makes me nauseous when in unbridled and driving fast. It is a lot of fun though!

My wife replaced her 13 Hyundia GM with a mach-e GT. Our insurance went up $7/mo. I equate that to just the difference in vehicle price.
