Do you have the ,a test firmware? 3.7.1 ? If so have you tried the new feedbacker? Look it up on TH-cam. Helix feedbacker, it’s ama ing.

Your setup sounds good but since you have a DT, get an Xlr cable plug into the helix l6 jack and into the l6 input on your DT, then pick your favorite preset, and reset in and out with your helic. I love how mine sounds, you can ditch the orange too, you are turning off the preamp, and using the helix preamps, you don’t need the orange I use a Gibson Les Paul DC double cutaway and I also have 2 line 6 Variax standards, oh man if you e never tried one,yougot go, I’m a Luther and I’ve built about 30 different custom Variax guitars with the original variax, the Variax standard is a Yamaha Pacifica, the factory pups are great, but I bought a second one to put Seymour Duncan single coil sized humbucker .

I’ve only had my helix since the summer of 24 and I’ve looked everywhere on TH-cam not able to find helix /DT input output setup controls, so one Saturday I started from scratch, selecting first the in;Utah section that gives you all the DT options offered plus it gives you the DT 50 boost and one other similar setting that you can’t do on the amp alone, you can do it with an editor, but the helix is the best DT editor around, go to the output section and the same it gives you ampselector weather it’s DT-1 or DT-2 only negative is the pod HD PRO X allows you to use 4 DT series amps where the helix only w, but wait that’s per channel or what ever each line is called, helix gives you up to 4 seperate signal lines where you can run a guitar, a bass , another guitar or keyboard even electric drums, or vocals, but you can use all 4 signals with 1 guitar or 4 different instruments, that would be confusing to me. Yes using helix with factory presets, that you can change fx or anything else, until I get used to where everything goes like before amp or after, I’ll just use templates also you’ll find some fantastic guitarists who sell presets I bough one package for only 5 bucks from a Britt in the uk, they are excellent. I’m looking at a Santana set selling for 45 bucks, I know I sound crazy, I’ve owned every modeler from line 6 since the first bean. The helix is a totally new dog, sounds comparable to 5000 dollar custom tube amps fx are awesom. I’d you’d still one of those guys who say I’ll never use one of those only tube. Amps, first off, to buy comparable fx to what’s in the helix you’d spend thousands m same with amps. It’s easy to use right away but I guarantee I am getting better at it as I use it knowing all the tweets. What fx are best, I’ve found some. Awesome cabs and amps, I’ve read a lot of guys are no longer using IRs because the latest firmware gives you all the control and then some that you were used to on an ir. Buy a helix, you have 30 days to return it, I’d buy a new one just because I didntwznt some beat up thing. I,erp mine pristine. I satared playing in bands in 1967, until the mid 80s the only fx I had was a wah wah pedal. I had an early fuzz box but I didn’t like it, there’s a huge difference between a fuzz and a distortion pedal.

I have a DT 50 head and a DT 50 212 combo sound excellent, I ise the L6 LINK that way using the helix setup input and output, I can chose either DT 50 preamp or the helix preamps, the first amp the head I pan left and the combo pan right. I’m looking for a small amp to be a center dry amp. I never get terrible sounds, I don’t hear any digital scratchy sound, helix gives us 6 digital mic sims that I tink work excellent. I’m 70 years old I’ve owned fender dual showman, and other fender tube amps., ampeg v 4 some pee vey amps, nine of them sound as good as the DT 50s, , I may get another DT 25 head for center. The amp section compares with most custom amps. , try getting a high quality Xlr cable , I purchased 2 line 6 digital Xlr, I don’t know the difference except I wanted to use everything designed for the helix and DT 50. I’m amazed no one wants the DT series amps, I’ve lisened to so many reviews on TH-cam through a hi fi system, I’ve never owned any amp like the DT 50 that I can plug any guitar into alone and just fiddle with the power amp selectors plus the cheat sheet line 6 gives you for the basic settings of the 4 preamps works excellent, also you can use a. Midi foot controller, use one of the after market DT editors, there are actually 16 preamps to choose from a,though I actually set my dts to unity gain on all knobs, then ion each preset I use I select all my helix preamps, you do not have to turn off the preamps inside the DT 50, you’ll see when setting up a preset, inputs you’ll find a choice of HELIX OR DT that selects the helix preamps and shuts off the DT preamps.

Great! Question does the auto focus work with this set up? Mine isn’t. Once I start using the hemi the auto focus stops. Anyone have thoughts on this?

It doesn't work for HDR video format unfortunately. This option just disappears when I choose HDR. And AF box is there.

1:01 Omg, thank you. I got super frustrated and had my rp in the manual mode, but it actually needs to be in "movie auto exposure mode". Thank god, i hate thia stupid canon menu. Edit: I swear, I didn't had the option shown in the video to activate clean hdmi while being in manual exposure mode. I don't know why that's the case, but it appears that it needs to be activated in the auto exposure mode first, to be usable in other modes, wich is not user friendly at all. But anyways, hope that I'm the only one who had this stupid problem or that anyone else know found the solution too.

Just hate the fact canon HAD to hide menus for different modes. My 700d at least has a SWITCH for camera/movie which makes it easier to consider it to have different settings.. The RP has the movie mode integrated in the gear: literally NO ONE BUT CANON would think that menu is there. Plus if you want clean HDMI out in picture mode... You JUST CAN'T HAVE IT!

What if you just use a tube amp with your helix through fx loop and lower the master volume from helix without using a load box ? How does the load box make a difference here ?

I'm on the process of acquiring a Silverface Dual Showman Reverb head from an antique shop in my country. They sold it for around $270 bucks, but the condition it was is... well, lets just say it has seen better days. Hoping that the power & output transformers are still functioning well. Since internally it is the same as your Twin Reverb, I wanna thank you for the series of videos you've done about your own amp. Didnt' work for me with my latest EOS RP firmware. Instead, I just pressed the Info button to toggle how much info is being shown.

Can you still manually control exposure or aperture in movie mode?

I've got a satin red one, and it's absolutely stellar. Everything is perfectly aligned as far as string spacing and pickup placement. I had to make a minor truss rod adjustment and touch up the intonation, but beyond that, it's pretty much perfect. My only regret is that it's no longer in production, as EVERY other one I've played has been fantastic as well.

Is the camlink necessary I mean can't we just plug it in directly to my computer's hdmi port

Better get 2 DT 50s or 2 DT 25s with helix.

I LOVE my DT50 2X12. i have an orange32, fender HRD, yamaha thr10, blackstar HT5R but I find myself going to the DT50 the most. I suspect it didnt sell wildly because they wanted too much new. Used theyre a steal

I have 2 DT 50s one head and one combo 212. I play the head through an old Marshall 412 with 4 Celestion G12M speakers 16 ohm , 25 watts, AND 55HZ almost all guitar speakers are 75hz , the 55 hz speaker from 1970 was actually their bass coil. Bass amps had no way at that time sound or feel like the solid state class d 410 cabs of today. But those “bass” speakers with the same high end as their 75hz were basically the most full range speaker you can get with out horns etc. don’t have a helix yet get it when I can afford it fir now I am running a stereo rig with a Variax standard, love it, and line 6 HD500x connected to the 2 dt50s with the L6Link. Love it.
