I LOVE my DT50 2X12. i have an orange32, fender HRD, yamaha thr10, blackstar HT5R but I find myself going to the DT50 the most. I suspect it didnt sell wildly because they wanted too much new. Used theyre a steal
I couldn’t get the perfect tone until I connected my helix rack via L6 Link XLR digital cable. You’re missing out till you try this! Took me 1 year to stumble upon this incredible sounding rig: HELIX RACK, L6 Link, 2 X DT25’s = incredible tone! The L6 technology configures the gain staging as well as the power amp topology.
Originally I had tried the L6 link with my hd500 and it drastically changed the tone. I used a different amp for that but on my dt 50, the line 6 link is not functional. Probably why is was for sale used... Also I’m not using the speaker simulation from the helix but the dt 50 so I’m not sure that I really am missing anything since I can program the dt 50 with midi and use the pre amps from the helix. I’m currently not using this setup either lol. There is always something new to try. Thanks for your response.
@@bbqchickenrobot3 I’m actually not using the 4 cable method. Guitar, to helix straight to the front of the DT 50, then I turn the amp sim off in the DT 50 using DT customizer beta 0.8, and I still use the speaker sims from the DT 50 since I am using the custom line 6 speakers that Celestion built for the amp.
Ultimately, i keep the DT 50 at home and use a smaller tube amp when i play out. I like the results and i like being able to carry everything in, with two hands.
I'm just running the helix preamps, but i use the dt speaker sims. I have to use the DT Customizer Beta .08 to control the amp, then one i find my settings i program them into the helix. Its very convoluted but it works.

@@pfmusic1636 So how are you connecting the helix the amp? 4 cable method?

5:30-6:30 ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!

very pleasing video ///i have the exact same rig....I didn't try the DT in conjunction with the helix yet....how much is it better that helix alone ?
are you using the DT pre amps? or running helix pre amps into DT ?

Better get 2 DT 50s or 2 DT 25s with helix.
