Yeah that’s the hardest stage in the game. I had to use 3 continues on hard my initial playthrough and haven’t used any elsewhere before or after. I had more trouble dodging stray fire with Teradactyl when I messed around but it is a potentially good strategy 👍. The most rage I had in the game was that skeleton boss phase 3 with the tiny hit box and 75% of the time invulnerable. Tough stages almost back to back for sure!

Haha thanks! With how this game is balanced this might be the first and the last of pure beat ‘em up levels.

It’s not a bad game, but disappointing off TMNT and SoR4. It does feel heavy, a boost in speed on both X and Y axis would help a lot since you have to be precise on the Y especially. There’s also a dodge delay after you dodge or 2x dodge where you can’t do it again with no visual indicator which feels rough. The dodge is nice overall though since you can cancel any attack to avoid damage which is what makes the game for me. The main issue is that this is the entire move set which would be ok if it wasn’t practically identical in function and damage across every character. Half of the enemy attacks you can’t really react to either which is why you have to line them up perfectly here or they will insta kick you. That said I did have fun doing this and will play some more. Apparently it was only made by 5-6 people which is impressive, but does explain a lot.

Woah never played Sengoku 3 but that looks incredible still. I’m a huge fan of any game with an Izuna Drop haha. Agreed on story and in game dialogue, maybe they will add the option considering there’s a proper speedrun mode.

The characters including Green Ranger all have near identical move sets making 6 characters feel like 1. No charge attacks and only one attack button with limited juggling and no OTGs limit combo potential. A lot of states where bosses can’t be damaged and can’t even finish a basic combo when they are vulnerable making them more tedious than they should be (Think Rat King in SR). It’s not a bad game thanks to the music, solid Zord/bike levels but feels like it should be a lot better with more depth, especially with the move sets/enemy variety.

Relaunching characters Off the Ground (OTG) after knockdown like in Streets of Rage 4 or MvC3. Disappointingly can’t even hit characters on the ground after a hard knockdown which was in the 90s classic Konami X-Men arcade all with custom animations. Just slows down the game a lot especially when down to 1-2 enemies left

Yea Mike summed it up well. Not worth $30 IMO. When the gimmicks are better than the Beat Em Up aspects of the game when its labeled a Beat Em Up you know it missed the mark a bit. It sadly lacks the things TMNT SR Engine did well. Lack of Juggling and followups really hurt the fun factor. Also lack character depth and ability to do damage as all attacks do the same damage with the exception of the Super Attack. Also whats up edgerector? I'll probably start attempts in TMNT SR next week I know you're been waiting for me to get back to Single Segment runs. Goal is 54:54 or lower.

I’m guessing it will be erased even after completing the game. I didn’t die after completing this run so I can’t confirm but that would be my assumption on true death. Glad people are still finding this, fantastic game!!

Yeah the AI is absolutely brutal in this game. I don’t know if they tweaked it further but at launch it was easier to win matches vs top 10 actual players on each platform than the computer. These matches actually made me way better for proper PvP which usually doesn’t happen vs CPU in any game. I’m glad people are still playing this, fantastic game!

Lol yeah I’m on controller as well, took me a bit to figure out to be careful for 3 rounds of the purple and then pretty much safe until it pops. GGs on finishing the game!!

I had a great time with it around 75ish hours. Solid coop game, not quite the perfect sequel to the original Space Marine but does a lot of things right. It's not super long but very replayable IMO, definitely worthwhile on a black friday sale at this point!

Yeah was pre patch 3 weeks in where they changed Carnifex and improved performance. I would sometimes get inconsistent melee damage after restarts and depending on framerate? Also stacking perfect blocks would seem to dramatically increase damage, also would vary based on how your partners decide to attack as well. I’m going to record updated patch today since a lot of people have had issues with this fight post buff.

Framerate mostly 60 instead of the "feel of 60 fps" at 30. More fun now I'd say once you know to expect the stupidly fast swipes the last half of the fight!

Just played him this morning... WTF had a good run and then the game decided i would need. over 2 full stacks of ammunition (not mags, the complete stack of ammo) to shot the eye... not easy to restock while being warp circled. Restarted again same thing. And this time i died when the chest said you are already fully stocked while amount at 187.... WTF

Yeah definitely rougher post patch, even on the Angel of death speedrun I had I think he downed me. Considering doing a proper run of this again on the current patch since Carnifex is arguably the hardest boss in the game now

The cinematic counter attack happens if you attack immediately after perfect parrying (L2) a Yellow flash attack. The timing is fairly late to get it perfect. Don’t forget to use the Devil trigger on L1 and during that when you are Blue you can press R1 for special moves to extend the combo. Also if you are grounded, X-Y-Y should launch the enemy to get away from the other attacks. Good luck, I can’t wait for full release this year either!

Yeah soundtrack is excellent. Going to do a run with the retro soundtrack enabled which is great without feeling the exact same too!

03:09 I’ve only played this game on Angel of Death and have the WR for a single run clean through. You have I-frames on your dodge and half of them are perfect netting the reticle shot. You don’t take any damage from imperfect blocks and the bosses take increased damage when they are perfect. The purple aura doesn’t hurt you until he raises his arm out of the ground. Thanks for watching the video but might want to not call someone a liar who spent a couple hours grinding this fight out to learn how to manage the BS add spawns and attack patterns.

Woah thank you for checking out the run and more importantly for developing the amazing game! Really great game balance and attack tells throughout with solid mechanics while still feeling like a great throwback. I hope this game sells a ton and can be expanded on further in DLC and/or a sequel!

Hey! You guys did make an awesome game! Btw, im playing this on ps5 and i cant seem to unlock the "Flawless" trophy on there. It requires you to beat new game + with 4 lives and i did it twice but still didnt get it. Is it bugged or am i doing something wrong? I sent you guys an email about it. It says on ps5 that 10% of people have it so i guess it may be me but im not sure what im doing wrong

Thanks a lot of the systems finally clicked on this attempt. The game is very solid overall, some questionable laser hitboxes in only a few spots but very fair for the most part even on Extreme. Soundtrack is excellent and the game has that classic satisfying arcade feel. It could stand to be a little deeper mechanically but what's here is worth 20 with the extra modes for more replayability. Not quite as great as Kill Knight, but awesome to have a new entry in the rail/space shooter genre. (GGs on the new Kill Knight WR). Will be uploading a full no death run of the hardest route tomorrow with standard starting equipment!

Panzer Dragoon Zwei is my favourite rail shooter and I really like the genre. I was score attacking Zwei like crazy on my Sega Saturn back in the day! :)

@@edgarector Haha yeah PC leaderboards are usually compromised within the 1st day no matter what the game. I've never played PDZ, looking forward to the remake although I thought it would have been out already. Hope the OG is included whenever it does release!

I believe it’s mostly made by 1 person which explains the environment. Doesn’t really matter to me since the gameplay is so fast (even faster vs normal enemies)I barely even notice lol. Just a really good pure action game, I’d recommend trying it before the demo expires tomorrow before early access starts in the next couple months. It’s a great throwback to a raw PS2 era action with no fluff

Yeah he took me hours to beat on hard the first time. The biggest thing is not getting caught when he holds over his right shoulder and goes into the undodgeable yellow shield bash. The final phase he only really throws out the red and yellow attacks, you can read the the unblockable red since he usually does the same swings before it in phase 1. Once you break him after he turns red it’s over. Can also keep your blue Devil trigger until phase 2 and style on him until he’s dead

Thank you so much, totally agreed that there’s not much like this anymore and has serious potential. The final boss destroyed me for a couple hours too before finally styling on him a bit. I love that you can juggle the boss like the regular enemies, great design philosophy there. DMC is my favorite series so extremely happy if we get a spiritual successor here with the devil trigger/RG/air combos. Thank you so much for the follow, it’s very much appreciated!

Thanks! Yeah full proper action game it seems, demo has 4 encounters with lesser enemies that are still challenging and they can also be styled on. Being able to properly combo the boss when you have devil trigger equivalent or you break them is exactly what I want compared to just hitting them while they take a knee for 10 seconds in other even sometimes very good action games. Absolutely, this game is going to be special. Haven't played anything quite this aggressive in a while!

Yeah framerate dips quite a bit on my PC as well, especially if using Melta. Definitely scavenge for the krak grenades before the fight and hold them until last 50% of health for a burst. The regular grenades don’t seem to do much damage at all.

Yeah if he leaps you almost have to dodge that too and still get to his back otherwise it hits in a huge cone covering basically everywhere from his side to front. Unless you perfect dodge it forward and to the side you can’t even use execution shot safely. They made him more aggressive last 50% in the most recent patch which is where the difference is

If you stand directly behind him he does the quick swipe which is very hard to react to. I think you are right in that if the bots are behind him he may do that fast 180. Lost a lot of attempts to that attack. They actually buffed him a bit last week where he does faster swipes for the last 50% of health and taunts less even from front and side.

That’s partially why I can’t replicate this because if the AI allies don’t behave the carnifex will do the quick swipe which makes it so frustrating because it’s unpredictable and unreactable

If you stay close it usually doesn’t do the triple charges. They have made him more aggressive in the last half of the fight after last weeks patch where you need to parry after almost every melee hit instead of getting 2 in early here. It remains a much easier fight up close

The boss is completely broken

GGs on finishing him. Some free easy damage is to save 2 krak grenades from before encounter and then pick up the other 2 mid fight to him past half health. They need to make the arena clear of so many little obstacles, gets nasty with the adds as well. It’s surprising this is the one boss they actually buffed on the last 50% health a week ago

@FBIMichaelScarn free damage? My last 10 tries, I was hyperfocused melee. Melta? Nades? Don't know those, never heard of em. Thanks for the advice, tho.

LOL dude I did the same with melee tunnel vision here, so preoccupied with parrying and melee and forgot about the grenades. Made it much easier on the speedrun sprinkling in the krak grenades and saving melta for the adds. The skills you got from this will make the rest of the game far easier IMO, good luck!
