I’ve been testing the toughest levels, almost have level 13 done. It’s much more fun since they increased the speed dramatically compared to the original release but they need to fix the 0 frame grab from the large putty enemy. The final level is a huge problem but it does seem possible post patch.

Haha thanks! With how this game is balanced this might be the first and the last of pure beat ‘em up levels.

Aside from having the option to turn off story dialogue, I wish the gameplay was like Sengoku 3 for Neo-Geo, or Battle Circuit from Capcom.

Woah never played Sengoku 3 but that looks incredible still. I’m a huge fan of any game with an Izuna Drop haha. Agreed on story and in game dialogue, maybe they will add the option considering there’s a proper speedrun mode.

Haha that last boss is a mess currently but if they tweak that would be a spicy challenge. Full game S ranks definitely on deck though!

Although this looks fun and full of nostalgia… the lack of unique moves and combat depth between the rangers is a disappointment.
I think Double Dragon Gaiden has been the best beat’em up of the renaissance so far. The combat depth balanced with fundamentals and simplicity has been a huge innovation for the genre.

Completely agreed, they should have expanded each character to have proper movesets and it would have added a lot, especially for the premium price over SoR4 and TMNT SR which is nowhere near justified.
I grabbed Double Dragon on humble bundle a while back, haven’t tried yet but glad to hear it’s actually that good! I’ll definitely give it a shot soon

Hmm...based on what I see, it doesn't look too bad. Very limited moves, I guess, as there's just this 3-4 hit combo, running attack, dive kick, grab and hit or throw...and that's it. Also, most people complain game feels very sluggish and rangers are too slow and stiff. Is it?

It’s not a bad game, but disappointing off TMNT and SoR4. It does feel heavy, a boost in speed on both X and Y axis would help a lot since you have to be precise on the Y especially. There’s also a dodge delay after you dodge or 2x dodge where you can’t do it again with no visual indicator which feels rough. The dodge is nice overall though since you can cancel any attack to avoid damage which is what makes the game for me. The main issue is that this is the entire move set which would be ok if it wasn’t practically identical in function and damage across every character. Half of the enemy attacks you can’t really react to either which is why you have to line them up perfectly here or they will insta kick you. That said I did have fun doing this and will play some more. Apparently it was only made by 5-6 people which is impressive, but does explain a lot.

@@FBIMichaelScarn Yeah, I wasn't overly interested beforehand, but now I kind of lost it almost completely. Maybe on a deep sale.
Btw, try "Vengeance Hunters", if you haven't. Very solid beat 'em up.
