While studying journalism, I’d whisper to myself, ‘TV studios are cool, but what if the world could be my set?’ Today, as a flight attendant flying across the globe, I’ve manifested that dream into reality. From Vancouver to Paris, I explore cultural nuances, personal growth, and find magic in moments everywhere. Come with as I turn travel into a lens for understanding our world.

Happy Thanksgiving Malick!’🦃🍽
Fredrick :) happy thanksgiving!
Great Boston vlog Malick! I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving I hope you don't have to work and get to enjoy the holiday.
Awww thank you! I’m working half the holiday and get to enjoy some, too! Thank you for thinking of me and same to you and yours ❤️
Hey Malick. My sleep schedule is always messed up too. I always do red eyes and internationals so I'm a mess. Melatonin is my best friend. Sleep is important doll.
it really can be tough!! same - I do a lot of west coast almost always red eyes back east. it really is, thankfully its gotten better since this vid. I had a san diego and we got in the perfect time, I went to sleep and it was the BEST layover sleep ive had in a minute!!
Happy thanksgiving Malick❤ it warms my heart to see you enjoying the Wicked Awesome Boston layover and being spoiled by your crew l I literally died at the SpongeBob chocolate scene! I loveeee chocolate
Happy thanksgiving Jay!! Your city haha such a great layover ❤️
Malick beautiful to see your vlog wishing you a amazing great safe blessed Holiday be safe
Thank you!! Happy holidays 😊
Happy thanksgiving to all who celebrate 🦃✨! Thank y’all so much for supporting me ❤

You poor thing. I was raised in San Diego and you were there on a beautiful day
I CANNOT believe they made me go there!! like its too pretty and perfect my EYES 😭
Nice!
😊thank you! such a goodie
Hostel, hotel? It's strange to me that you wouldn't stay with one of your subscribers. I'm sure many of us would be happy to host you. Just like taking advantage of your flight benefits you should take advantage of having thousands of subscribers. Next time you're in the city let me know. You might not be comfortable sharing my place with me as it's a studio but perhaps I'm not in the city at the time and then you can have it for yourself.
Thank you so much - this is incredibly generous of you, Sebastian! I really appreciate the offer, but I prefer to arrange my own accommodations when I travel. I hope you understand! When im back hopefully I can host some sort of meetup. It would be so fun to meet those of you who watch from France!
@malickmercier I understand but I believe you should change your ways.
Dude you come to France without announcing it,… why don’t you try to meet your followers when being abroad ??
Blake! It would be a dream of mine to connect in person with y’all esp abroad. I didn’t have time to plan a meetup this time around but, I’ll keep it in mind for future trips!
I enjoyed the Paris videos you have shown us. I admire your bravery for doing your first solo international trip. I stay domestic and take advantage of International when my company flies me there. What I think is really cool, you visiting the city and not the tourist areas like The Louvre or Versailles. And glad you went to moneprix, I never leave CDG without getting butter, croissants, and a baguette. You are awesome, can't wait to see your next video. 😃
thank you so so much :') it means so so much to me that you thought it was cool I saw PARIS and not the tourist areas. you are my people!! I got the butter but LOST IT 😭 next time, i'll also be sure to get a baguette!
Oh honey! Always drama with you! 😂😂😂
What a great vlog Malick and especially in your own hotel room where you can move freely. I am so happy that you have experienced so much in a short period of time you have learned so much. I think we as people put a timeline on life myself included and feeling guilty about taking vacations and enjoying things. You have so much to offer and by you being in Paris by yourself you feel so free and get to know yourself more. Oh and I feel your pain about the Pastry Shop being closed because I would be mad too lol. I just had to take a step back from following a dream where life is telling me to wait and not rush it will happen.
thank you Randy! it's so funny I think this was my favorite of the three and I wasn't expecting that. it was so fun and filled with play which is what life should be haha and yes I feel like it's apart of our society to shame people for the wrong things, a vacation should just be enjoying! and yesss you do get to know yourself more especially being abroad solo. I think that's important. and I was so madd about the crookie shop! that'll be one of the first stops when i'm back haha! and I love that you're listening to life's nudges. I am excited for that dream to come true for you!
Hey friend! We are literally sooo much alike . I yet to not really have used my benefits for leisure other than commuting home to Alabama from Boston (every other month ) I don’t have a bucket list as of right now due to our low pay but I kind of always to just go to Paris ! So thanks for posting this experience because now I know what to expect or else I’d be lost and confused thanks to you ! Also , I don’t really have desire because the job itself even traveling domestically is enough for me I don’t like to take too much time off unless really needed. I’m reserve I pick up extra hours on my flexible off days multi pairings (Got to hustle 🏃♂️ l💰 know the bills don’t pay themselves ) I don’t want to travel alone in unfamiliar cities it will give me anxiety! And the drinking lol I’m one that doesn’t drink ether ! Any small intake of alcohol will hit me real quick !!
Awww this makes me smile Jay - thank you! happy these vids will serve as a resource for you when you go to Paris! I could also totally see you operating transatlantic! Our job is a lot on its own and I definitely have my moments where I can't imagine going back to the airport for leisure haha. But whenever you have the energy and can make it work financially, it's so cool to use the benefits -- even if it's just to go to another state. New Mexico really surprised me...saw the most beautiful sunset there. And if anything picking up layovers you don't usually do can allow you to travel while having that sense of safety and security the job provides. Sending you my loooove!
i really appreciate for your content ! would you please tell me whats your goal in this platform ?

Pris❤️!! my friend was like you need to talk to them because sometimes they check at the end of the ride and im like GREAT now that im drunk you tell me this 😭 but who knows thats why I ubered the rest of the trip I was so confused. but thank you i can't wait to go back! trying to plan a little personal vancouver for christmas...we'll see!
I am happy that you left the Hostel you are still my favorite FA
awee thank you David!
Thanks for your incredible perspectives in all your videos. You were so much happier in the video when you left the hostel. You are very inspiring and it would be a joy to travel with you. If you are ever in the UK again, I'll take you for some superb Chinese and Thai! Keep smiling and spreading joy.
yes I hatedddd it LOL im too fancy 😂 it was so nice to just know that I had a PLACE, not just a bed. but thank you for your kind words - really means a lot that you were here for all of it Ian! that's so kind of you, I do want to come back to the UK so maybe our paths will cross!
That would be a wonderful opportunity to share a great meal and show you some more of the UK. However, I talk way too much! Lol😂
now I know why people on the plane be ordering that sauvignon blanc with the cheese plate 😌
My Malick, your future is bright! 🤩💛Loved this vid!
😭❤️that means so much Pris, thank you. my 3rd day is uploading rn, comes out tomorrow!! some good life nuggets in there! so grateful you're here <3
So it's basically a historic Vancouver.
You could say!! I think the key is despite the two cities having similarities they each have a different cadence. Paris is the first city I’ve seen other than NYC that has a “keep up/let’s go!” culture and Van is more slow, west coast, chill.
@ true that, but with the rising costs here that’s slowing slipping away. I would not recommend to come here to have fun. There are fun aspects, but everyone works 24/7 to barely pay rent.
You live in Van? I’m obsessed with your city haha but it is reallllly expensive. That sucks and definitely changes things. I want to do a video where I try to spend just $20 CAD there in one day but it seems like an incredible challenge.
@ yeah I moved here from California in 2007 cause of health care and education (dual citizenship 😎).You could get by with $40 but $20 is what you’d have to pay for a cup of coffee and a muffin. So if you plan on starving, sleeping on the sidewalk (umbrella needed!), and walking everywhere, then sure! $20 is doable. You can find cheap food at Sunrise Market, but that’s in a very DODGY part of the city. Go there during the day and avoid all eye contact.
The streets are confusing but beautiful
trueeee
What a trip! Would love to explore Paris and all of France but I feel that most Americans are thought of as “Ugly Americans” by the French. You are African American so you may not notice it even though you don’t speak French. I think you inspire me and others
Suchhh a goodie!! I learned so much! Think I’m going to make a sit down video on everything I learned. And yes so true - I think I look…cultured? Maybe not the best word, but what comes to mind right now. I do hear so many that say the French are really mean. I only felt like one person looked at me like I was stupid LOL when I was asking for directions when I first landed. I think speaking English compounded it for sure. Maybe one other attitude but for the most part they were really, really accommodating and kind. Thank you for the compliment! I’m looking forward to going back.
You are too cool for school .. you’re like Dora the Explorer ✌️
awww haha thank you!! on layovers or on my own it's truly one of my favorite parts of life 😭
🍁🍂Hey Malick👋🏾. Nice vlog. Thanks for sharing your Paris adventures. Be blessed.🤗🍂🍁
thank you Rose <3 such a fun time! happy I get to share!
Malick what a nice day you had walking around Paris taking everything in and that croissant looked so good. And that is cool about the coffee shops we need to enjoy them in the moment and relax with a book. I am looking forward to the next one.

I'm not built for the hostel life........Hotel Me please.....
Omg Malick I am so happy you made it to Paris its going to be the best trip especially traveling solo you will experience a lot while you are there and you'll be creating memories because you are doing this on your own. I also enjoyed hearing about making things happen and being scared of accomplishing something that you are looking forward to or have a joy about it. I need to hear that right now because I will be experiencing something that I have always wanted to do and it is slowly in progress right now and I am excited and anxious at the same time because of the What if's. The opportunity is approaching and I am saying to myself this is what I have always wanted. I can't wait to see your Paris vlogs and make sure you have your picnic outside with a baguette, cheese, chocolates and wine and enjoy yourself.
Randyyyy!! Thank you - such a special city. I’m back stateside now but I did have such a good trip! As you say, I will never forget it. Thank you for listening to the life lesson sides of the video :) - those mean a lot to me. I LOVE that you’re having that moment, too. Congratulations on a dream come true! Humans are so funny… when we’re so close to what we wanted and then we get a little scared. You got this! I definitely need to go back and do it all on the lawn outside the Eiffel Tower but I had all those things and it was lovely! 😌🥰 looking forward to getting the rest of the vids up!
I'm a Black woman, and I travelled abroad at 38 -40 years of age solo. If I can do it, so can you. Much luck and safe blessings to you, Malick .😁 You got this! Stay safe though.
Ayeeee yes yes yes!! Thank you! You know there’ll be more adventures now that I’ve dipped my toes in the water 😅😁

Another great video. Don’t think I could handle staying in a hostel. I love traveling solo
Laura :) thank you! and yeah it was SO WEIRD so grateful I had one night in a great hotel...gives you so much more freedom.
The exact video I needed to get my day started. Did you pray for Wisdom like Solomon? You’re so enlightened and positive! I’ve expressed wanting to go to Paris, and someone responded with a video of a man complaining about Paris and how dirty it is. I’m like OK, I’m not sleeping outside. People will definitely live vicariously through other peoples trauma and negative experiences as opposed to cultivating their own. I think I want to to do Paris and London together, so I might plan for that in 2026, God willing. But next year I think I want to take a solo cruise for my birthday. Or Curaçao.
Awww Lena thank you! I'm not too familiar with Solomon's story, but I did pray for the trip. Thank you so much for your love and kindness here. It's so true people love to crap on people's dreams...sorry that happened to you. Paris is a real life city, but I didn't find it any more dirty than NYC or any other big city lol so definitely not a reason to discourage people from traveling there. Oooooh yes, I do think if you have the time it could be smart to do London + Paris together. I wanted to add Belgium to this trip, but didn't want to cram it in. Once you're across the pond the world is your oyster! And I've heard only good things about Curaçao! Best wishes as you plan your trips <3

I am huge fan but I have a question if I want to be stable while being a flight attendant how many flights I would have to take just to get 40 hrs every two weeks or close to 80?
Thank you for supporting my channel <3 it really depends on the airline and what income you need. It doesn’t really go in a week basis but more the month. Last month for example I worked 100 hours (really only 70 hours of actual flying not including boarding or deplaning…this fluctuates but i was really smart about the trips I did last month) and had 11 days off for the month. So it’s not really flights, but hours. 2-3 short flights could equal one long JFK-LAX. It’s a complicated question to answer, but hopefully this helps. And when you start, you’ll likely be on reserve where you have a little less say on what you work but the major airlines have a guarantee of what they promise they’ll pay you each month whether they call you or not.
@ thanks this was helpful
In the Caribbean...Many of the countries that were colonized by GB...they drive on the left. ... That fish sandwich is heavenly 😅
