  • I'm a flight attendant for a major US airline, and a journalist telling stories across America.
After working many flights to Mexico I FINALLY GOT TO STAY! And just in time to celebrate my two year anniversary living my flight attendant life haha. Puerto Vallarta will always hold a special place in my life. It felt like the start of truly enjoying the job. LET'S GOOOOO!

Happy 2 yr Anniversary, Malick! 🥂 I rarely see old school spirit in young FAs these days. It’s refreshing to see! All hope is not lost! lol. Mexico has always been my fav country! You won’t find more friendly, accommodating people anywhere! It’s their culture. They are that way with each other, and they share it with foreigners. As a side note, I was very upset to see the cat on leash. It bothers me very much to see exotic pets. I feel it’s very wrong to do that. (Forgive me, I just had to get that out!) I love how you venture out on your own on layovers! I feel exactly the same, wanting to experience real life, not just another bar, or resort restaurant. Do you have a hotlogic? Next best thing, when a microwave isn’t available. I’ve often become emotionally involved with people I encounter (whether passengers, or on the ground) so I understand what you mean when you are sensing vibes and energy. I sometimes wonder though if I’m interpreting those feelings based on my experiences, or if I’m assessing accurately? I’m like you though, I can’t just brush it off. I think you’d like the zona romántica area even more! It’s more original PV. The malecón is there. I stayed in the hills last time I was there (several years ago). It was beautiful but those hills were satan himself! (walking up them, that is) But the views were worth the effort it took to climb them! And for the love of all good, make the trip between Nov- April. It gets very hot and humid outside of those months! 😬

Thank you so much!! Hahah I have had one senior FA told me he thought my attitude was dead, I'm grateful I can be one of the ones keeping it alive - this life is such a blessing! I LOVED the culture and vibe so much -- the land is beautiful. I was also upset by seeing the baby lion...that's what the man said it was. I just can't imagine it enjoyed being pet...it seemed uncomfy. I don't have a hot logic, I've just heard some horror stories so I've just stayed away from it. And the emotional/vibes note you bring up is a good one - I think sometimes it is our own experience reflected back, but I also think we can pick up on things from others and energy doesn't lie so we have to listen to it and trust it. I think sometimes it can take stillness to get to that place which can be tough to get to in an in-the-moment situation. I made it to zona romantica my second time! It was pretty cool, more trendy but like you say there were chill/more authentic feeling spots. Would love to go back and go on a hike and see those views! And yes a local in palmar de aramara told me this is the best time of year to go -- summer is brutal. Thank you for being here :)

Hey malick, hope you are well.. what an amazing view from your hotel room, looks beautiful.. I love your enthusiasm for your job and for life, it’s nice to see that.. Hope you get to go downtown on your next visit there.. well I’m back from vegas, and waw what an experience this was, 5 nights was plenty 😂 the city just never sleeps.. I visited the Grand Canyon and that was breathtakingly stunning, what a beautiful place that is, Shelby museum that was really good and also free.. Allegiant stadium, that was amazing too.. watched mystere the cirque de soleil show, fantastic show.. ceasers palace forum shopping mall, what a beautiful city.. there was a lot more homeless people than I thought there would be, this was sad to see.. all in all a fantastic trip, and we got some sunshine which was really appreciated 😂 take care and have a great weekend ❤

Happy 2 year anniversary! I love how appreciative of the journey you are and how raw you are about how the job comes with some downs, but we take those and we grow and learn from them! Many blessings to you, love! 💕

You came to PV and you DIDNT GO to downtown??? Omg! You missed everything! lol 😅
Also the beach where you stayed is not the nicest beach at all … there’s a lot of beautiful beaches out there on the bay .
