Loved your analysis, specially given your context, and your curiosity to know more. Reg the beginning of a united and democratic India, our first Prime Minister Nehru asked two specific people, Vallabhbhai Patel and VP Menon, to make sure all provinces acceded to a single Union. They raced around the country in 1947, coaxing, cajoling, threatening all the kings and princes (about 500 of them!). That they managed to accomplish this was a massive start to a united and democratic India. Since then, we have managed to hang together and thrive. In spite of every once in a while, a few fissiparous tendencies in some or other part of the country

The WPFI 2020 is compiled on the basis of an online questionnaire comprising 83 questions, answered by 18 freedom of expression NGOs, many of which are funded by the RSF, and a network of around 150 correspondents, and researchers, jurists and human rights activists, usually selected by the correspondents. This qualitative questionnaire is used to calculate scores on six parameters in the index - pluralism, media independence, media environment and self-censorship, legislative framework, transparency and quality of infrastructure that support production of news and information. This score is combined with quantitative data on abuses and acts of violence against journalists, to arrive at the overall WPFI score. Multiple countries and commentators have raised concerns with both the WPFI criteria, methodology and also about RSF’s perceived biases, lack of objectivity in ranking and lack of transparency. One of the primary concerns raised has been the opaqueness of the WPFI survey. Question-wise or category-wise scores used in computing scores for the six parameters are not made public, nor is the list of respondents provided. Similarly, clearly defined, credible sources are not available for quantitative data on abuse and violence against journalists, nor is any attempt made to clarify such data with Government or country-wise sources in any of the countries being ranked. When a limited sample of approximately 150 respondents and 18 NGOs are asked to analyse and respond to 83 questions for each country, the chances of biases and disconnect with the realities are high. On an average, 1 respondent is asked to provide parameter-wise assessments for 1 country; the implausibility of one respondent being able accurately assess press freedom in a country render the WPFI rankings highly subjective at best. Indeed, this might be one of the reasons behind RSF’s reluctance in sharing parameter scores or even anonymised country-wise responses. Not surprisingly, a former Singapore PM had called1 the WPFI “ a subjective measure computed through the prism of western liberals.” Excerpt from NITI Aayog Official Website.

It is a TRULY UNIQUE system, no other country has a system quite like the Indian Judiciary. I would love to hear your thoughts on this. The system is technically called the *Indian Judicial Collegium System,* if you want the exact term to get accurate Google results. I won't provide my own bias on this system by passing comments on it. But I would REALLY love to see your comments on this and if you would like to see such a system in USA.

1:47 I would caution against taking these so-called "Press Freedom Indices" at face value. First check on what their methodology is to arrive at these numbers. Many times I've seen such so-called "Global rankings" being forwarded by motivated NGOs that arrive at these numbers by (brace yourself): "Internet opinion poll of around 3000 people in a nation of hundreds of Millions." You don't need to read Design of Experiments formally to know that such stats are B.S.

Just go and check how this so-called ranking on press freedom was compiled. We all know exactly who the target audience for this BS propaganda rankings is. This is the era of post-truth, as they say. In order to regime change a nation, first step is creating distrust between a relatively benign government and its people through such fake news and rankings. Then your hired goons start protesting/hijacking genuine protests, there is violence on the streets. All these steps slowly lead to a regime change operation. Meanwhile, the world is fed the same propaganda and that is used to say "hey look, this revolution is good, the people are revolutionaries and the government here was bad so they revolted." We all know which country has a holier than thou attitude regarding these things like "Human Rights", etc and loves to do regime changes like the recent one they just conducted in Bangladesh. This is how geopolitics is played at the high table. The truth seldom matters. Perceptions are all that matter. And perceptions can easily be shaped, especially by a nation that has a stranglehold on virtually ALL the big Social Media corporations of the Earth. They control the medium by which news is disseminated, and thereby they control the entire flow of Information. Which is why they always win in Information warfare. And nations like India always lose. China was at least smart enough to create its own social media alternatives. Indians got taken for a ride.

Who is God in Hinduism? Brahman: The ultimate, formless, and infinite reality that is beyond all dualities and distinctions. Brahman is the source and essence of everything in the universe, encompassing all that exists and transcending all forms and concepts. The Trimurti: The three primary deities-Brahma (the creator), Vishnu (the preserver), and Shiva (the destroyer)-are manifestations of different aspects of Brahman. Each represents a fundamental force that sustains the cycle of the universe. Personal Deities: Hindus may worship various personal forms of God, such as Vishnu, Shiva, Shakti (the Divine Mother), Krishna, Rama, and others. These deities are seen as different aspects or incarnations of the same ultimate reality, Brahman. What is God in Hinduism? Brahman: God is the eternal, unchanging, and formless essence of all things. Brahman is not limited by time, space, or form and is beyond human comprehension. It is the ultimate truth, consciousness, and bliss (Sat-Chit-Ananda). Saguna Brahman: When God is described with attributes, forms, and qualities, this is known as Saguna Brahman. This includes deities like Vishnu, Shiva, and Shakti, who are worshiped with specific forms and characteristics. Nirguna Brahman: When God is described as formless and without attributes, it is called Nirguna Brahman. This concept emphasizes that the true nature of God is beyond human description and imagination. Where is God in Hinduism? Omnipresent: God is present everywhere, within every particle of the universe. The idea is that God permeates all of existence and is immanent in all living beings and objects. Within the Self (Atman): In Hindu philosophy, the Atman (Self) within each individual is considered to be a reflection of Brahman. Therefore, God resides within each person as their innermost essence. In Temples and Sacred Spaces: Hindus often worship God in temples, which are considered sacred spaces where the divine presence is particularly strong. Statues and images of deities are revered as physical manifestations of God’s energy and presence.
