Trying the Jujubee fruit from our tree at Mark and Cindy's food forest in Lutz, Florida.

The Jujubee fruit tree needs little maintenance and is easy to grow. It does well in central Florida as it thrives in the heat but also does very well in the cold here in Zone 9b. It also goes by the name of Chinese date because if left on the tree to completely ripen it will start to dry and shrivel and resemble a traditional date. It is very sweet at this stage. I'm over in Clearwater and that was quite a storm. In past storms I have lost many bananas, but this time I trimmed them down to 2 to 3 leaves before the storm. Although a bit tattered I didn't lose any. I'm learning that trimmed and thinned out trees do tend to hold up better in the wind. Thanks for sharing.

I live in central Florida 9a. I bought a Barbados cherry tree one month ago It has lots of new growth ,but no cherries yet. I am thinking about doing a softwood cutting to see if it will work. I bought the tree from a local nursery in a three-gallon pot. I planted it close to my house on the south side. Do you have any pointers for me.

OK what’s your secret? How do you grow these wonderful fruits in Centra Fl? I live in Brooksville, and have two hardy-ish banana plants and a pineapple from Florida Hills Nursery (purchased online). I have some others, but those are the most reliable. Your videos give me hope. I’m enjoying them very much.

Im from Paraguay. We have that growing all over the place, its wild. I have a great recipe for passion fruit mousse with hand mixer: 1 can condensed milk 2 cans measured heavy cream 1/2 can measured passion fruit pulp, with or without seeds (must blend or process separately prior to mixing mousse if using seeds) Put the condensed milk in a bowl and hand mix (or use ur standmixrr) along with passion fruit pulp. Mix well. Add the cream and mix until fluffy. You can portion it, cover it and refrigerate atleast 4h prior to serving. Its super yummy and we give it to kids in the summer. You can also use this recipe and make ice cream with ice cream maker. Hope you make it. Remember!!!! Passion fruit seeds lower your blood pressure, so beware!

Air layer won't be as fast as propagation. You can take multiple small branches put them in water with a grow lights and have roots within a month or maybe two. Super easy to propagate.

I'm not sure. You can try covering it with a light blanket. I lost two trees to the cold winters. I know some people have told me that their trees have made it through the winters. Maybe planting the tree close to the house to get the warmth. Good Luck!
