I think you're going a bit too far.. some stuff can and should be verse equalized.. Chakra, Nen and Ki are very obviously the same stuff.. Haki is an application, it's not just "ow I have a mystical energy inside my bodey therefore I can hit your logia ass" it's "that energy inside of me allows me to do something to make your Logia ass accessible to my attacks" If a nen, Chakra or Ki user discover the secret to make Logia users tangible, then they could use their own verse' energy to perform that task and make the Logia users tangible.. but Obviously Chakra isn't equal to Haki or devil fruit.. but it is equal to the energy that flows through the body of one piece characters that allows them to use their Haki..

One form verse equalization I could agree with, is imagining that the characters live in the same universe, such that both characters have the baseline traits of each others' verses while their own power systems still function separately as normal. For example if you took Gojo and Kakashi: Gojo would have a chakra network by virtue of being a human from earth, but would have no use for it. Likewise Kakashi would have cursed energy with zero ability in utilizing it.

Generally agree, but usually have to do it for certain verses and matches. I.e. bleach characters mostly being literal ghosts and can’t be seen without a high level/exposure to raiatsu

one can argue kaido is stronger than current luffy (as of chapter 1117), one of the main reasons luffy was able to beat kaido was because he was severely fatally wounded by the worst generation, and gear 5 did catch him off guard a little

If this were Naruto vs kaido, it'd be a different story. Idk if Naruto would outright beat Kaido, but Naruto cleanly blocked an attack that split the damn moon in half. (Not saying this as some kind of coping Naruto fan, I enjoy one piece infinitely more.)

If we’re being honest, Kaido would absolutely smoke the 5 Kage, no diff and very quickly. The only reason why Kaido actually lost, is because he had to lose because of the story, his character and persona. We all know that Kaido beat Luffy multiple times and could’ve easily killed him each time, but it’s because of him being the untouchable, always bet on, wanna have a great death Kaido that he wanted an actual great fight and he didn’t really care to kill Luffy. But if Kaido actually goes into war with the 5 Kages with the mentality of imma wipe that scum off the earth, then he’d do that in a matter of minutes.

A shinobi is reliant on his own power system to put another shinobi under Genjutsu, but a character that can hypnotize anything regardless of whether it can affect the internal energy of its target has an inherently more powerful and universal application

Kaido wouldn't be able to toucu the Raikage. If tsuchikage lands a genkai hakuri no jutsu on Kaido it's a wrap. As far as the other Kage I'm open to discussion.

Chakra and Haki have similar descriptions within their verse as a combination of physical and spiritual energy. Theoretically powerful enough Ninjutsu, Nin-Taijutsu, and chakra enhanced Taijutsu attacks could harm a Logia user or in the case of the gentle fist, harm someone using armament Haki, however since One Piece character’s don’t have Tenketsu, they wouldn’t be able to prevent the usage of Haki. Another thing is that One Piece characters tend to be more durable than Naruto characters on average. A chakra based attack could harm a Logia user, but wouldn’t be able to outright negate their Devil fruit since their body would be an element and not a construct of chakra or Haki. Kinda like how Nagato couldn’t absorb the explosion from the paper bombs that took the usage of his legs.

I just do whatever makes it more interesting, or do both. I'm gonna verse equalize if theres a character who pretty much has 1 ability which doesnt work without equalizing, because if we dont, then its pretty obvious who wins. not a very interesting convo at that point, when it could be.

As someone that is interested in Cross verse battle and Verse Equalization, the real problem is scaler bias and agendas. But going into detail the real issue is that no one does proper research into how powers work. Ki is not the same as chakra and neither is Reatsu, each are their own energy source and for them to be affect in a similar or exact same way, they need to have enough attributes in common for them to be catagorized in the same group. One could argue that Ki and Chakra are in the same group while Reiatsu is something that is too different because it's soul based while the other two are more "chi" based. Another issue is when scaling up or down radically different universes, one has to figure out what kind of powers the lower level universe has if they are scaled up while on the opposite end, you have to ask what needs to be nerfed or removed from the higher tier universe for them to be scaled accurately. While scaling down is far easier. scaling on that magnitude will always be too complicated for all but the most fair and rational scalers. Then there is character tier lists relative to their own universes, someone like Yujiro Hanma would be like god or the most broken character in any universe if he was scaled to them while the likes of Beerus could be seen as Monitor level beings although that may not be a completely accurate statement but close enough to not be seen as a fallacy. Again the real problem is that too many people cannot scale fairly and then create those so called "thought experiments" because that is in the realm of cringy fan-fiction.

Is this VE as a whole or only when it's used wrong or biasly? The whole reason VE exists because he it basically presents the same problem or similar problems non VE does. Quite frankly most fights against goku is just unfair, gojo is controlling the space around him which is his curse technique "infinity", characters from dbz are shown time and time again to be ripping apart space, shaking "infinity", simply shouting/yelling and ripping apart space and time etc. Any and all forms of verse equalizations doesn't give any benefit to goku what so ever, and all of that is still ignoring anime like dbz/bleach has an in-built systems that allows any and all characters to bypass hacks by literally just being stronger than their opponent. Hell we literally see the best example of it by hit vs goku, or jiren vs hit. Then there's other examples of it like when goku & several other characters got hit by hakai. All in all saying goku can't get pass gojos limitless is bs at it's finest Edit: Quite frankly the only benefit of verse equalizations are for the weaker verses Anime like Dbz power cliff other anime soo hard that a single low tier person with ki can solo the verse. Bleach also isn't too far from that where just by a person existing without restraining their spiritual pressure can wipe most verses. The same apply to naruto & one piece where they just hit harder, most faster, have precognition etc. Hell the same thing applies to gojo here again, bleach characters can cut space, have hados that directly affect space and time it self, then there's spiritual pressure that isn't going to get blocked by infinity... hell since you're not giving gojo the benefit of verse equalization he can't even see soul reapers. Naruto there's attacks that also affects space such as kamui, in one piece you've law an all of that is ignoring that anime like One piece, naruto, bleach & dbz heavily, heavily out scale weaker verses like Jjk in speed, attack potency & hax. Hell each of those verses has a different form of precog

Solution: Kaido is basically unkillable against those opponents, can teleport and oneshot every single one.

Most of what you described as being a problem with verse equalization is actually only a problem with people claiming to be equalizing verses and then saying that one character gets all the benefits of both verses, which is just not verse equalization. If you take Ace vs Deku and do VE, that doesnt grant Deku the ability to use Haki. VE wouldnt make a 6P Sage immune to all energy attacks, because ninjutsu is a specific method of using chakra. 6PSM Naruto wouldn't be immune to a Kamehameha because it isnt ninjutsu, but the Preta Path coukd absorb it, because it is an energy-based attack. Verse equalization is just a rule that says that both characters have access to their full toolkits. Asta vs Ace without it is just a bland fight, because one of them doesnt have access to their normal fighting style, since the abikities said style is based on are effectively turned off. Asta vs Gojo without VE not only takes Asta's entire catalog of abilities away, but also leaves Domain Expansion unable to do anything. Discussing a cross-verse fight where one character has some of their abilities removed isn't interesting. VE is not giving Chakra the properties of Haki. It's saying that these characters have abilities, and their abilities all work as shown on screen.

Genjutsu doesn't actually your opponent to have a chakra system. Kaguya used it on everyone before the sage started handing out chakra.
