I dont thin contrast paint unless specifically mentioned in the video. I think it's also worth noting that the amount of paint on your brush is just as important, if not more important, than how diluted the paint is. I'd look in to how much paint you're loading on to the brush, and do some troubleshooting. The right amount of paint to load the brush with will vary, because it depends on how diluted it is. Honestly I wouldn't use contrast on vehicles. I don't think it ever looks good, and you have to spend so much time smoothing everything out afterwards, it negates any time saved by using contrast to begin with. I think it woild look a lot better (and be easier) to airbrush the vehicles with yellow acrylic. Something like white, then Phalanx yellow, then Yriel yellow. Then I'd shade Casandora yellow with a brush around the rivets. Hope this helps and good luck!

Yep I filled them in. I just used green stuff epoxy putty. I think the trick is to use the right shaped sculpting tool. For most of the work I used a rounded spatula shape, almost like an elongated spoon shape. It fit the gap just right. Good luck with your models!

@@MattsHobbyHour Thanks, I am working on the squigs myself right now, there are a lot of gaps, I used sprue mixed with tamiya cement or "sprue goo" on the bigger gaps and thought I might try varnish or something on the smaller gaps in between the legs and the torso. I feel like greenstuff might take a while on so many squigs with so many gaps, but you did a really good job!

@@TooMiniModels good idea with the sprue goo! Green stuff does take a while. I don't know if I'd be able to fill the gaps on 30+ models without going crazy! Glad I only had 10.

I don't own that color so I can't test it out for you, but I think it would work. It does look pretty close. You may have to adjust the highlight colors though, because they're designed for the mixes mentioned in the video. Thanks! I used a light grey primer. The black was standard Vallejo Game Color black paint, thinned with water, and applied with my airbrush. Then I did a light zenithal spray of a dark grey, mixed from VGC black and white. Hope this helps!

The paint may be over-diluted, in which case you can just paint a second coat once the first coat dries. The speed at which you move the brush can also factor in to how much paint goes on the model; if you move it fast, the paint will be thinner and more transparent. If you move the brush slower, more paint should deposit on to the model and you'll get a brighter mark. I'd give both of those things a shot and see how it works for you. I don't change brushes too often. I like to try and use the oldest brush possible whenever I can, and that will indirectly extend the life of my newest brushes. I keep the newest brushes for the finest detail work before downgrading them to lesser work. I think I get a brand new brush maybe once every 3 or 4 weeks, but I paint quite a bit. Wet paint isn't so bad for the brushes, the worst thing is when paint gets up into the ferrule; as long as the paint is only on the top half of the bristles, it shouldn't damage the brush at all.

Thanks! I used a mix of PVA glue and snow flock from Woodland Scenics. Mix it into a paste, apply small patches to the base with an old brush or sculpting tool, and then sprinkle some dry snow flock on top. I posted a Chaos Warrior video recently that shows the process.
