Climbing Chambe Peak, Mulanje Mountains, Malawi
มุมมอง 3.6K7 ปีที่แล้ว
My hike up Chambe Peak in the Mulanje Mountains of Malawi in July, 2017. The first day we hiked up to the Chambe Basin and slept in a rustic cabin, then the next day did a seven hour round trip to the peak. I was climbing with a local guide named Story. I was a little shy to record in front of him, so my video suffers a little from that.

Driving up Mount Washington, New Hampshire
มุมมอง 5019 ปีที่แล้ว
My drive up Mount Washington, the highest point in New Hampshire, during the summer of 2015. My mom was born in Londonderry so I feel a distant affinity to New Hampshire. A good state, just for the record, I preferred NH to VT, more salt of the earth... Anyway, a nice mountain, although a bit controlled, having to pay to drive on it.... Definitely had weather which was appropriate. Minimal visi...

Hi how long is the cliff trail in and out?
Looks like a rather modest high point. I thought there were some actual mountains along the southeast side of Ohio? Perhaps not, lol.
@8:21 they might be using the nets to fend off ticks and the deer flies skeets are a punk at night more then anything. hopefully you got a moment coming down on that look out view spot.
So, Oklahoma isn't just where " the wind comes sweeping round the plain! "
You’re making me wanna go camping at Big Bend again I haven’t been for years
Well, Mississippi's High Point, Woodall Mountain, is a whopping 806 feet! LoL!
Arcadia, LA, is close to where Louisiana's High Point, Driskill Mountain, elevation 535 feet 😆, is!
Edward Norton goes sightseeing !!
THAT UGLY STRIP MINE, MOUNTAIN TOP REMOVAL IS ON THE VIRGINIA SIDE OF HWY 160. THE COAL COMPANIES WANT TO DO THIS TO ALL THOSE BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAINS. ALL THE AIR CRAFT USE THAT RADAR AS A WAY POINT.
so basically I'm doing a massive school project called NHD on Mount Everest and plan to travel to marcy to film some footage this winter. how hard do you think it would be in the winter for someone who is fit, yet not the most experienced hiker?
Which side did you approach from? What month? Snakes? Baboons?
It was either June or July. Don't recall seeing any wildlife. I approached it from the basin. I hiked up to that cabin the first day then the trail is from there.
Awesome!
Nice!
Awesome that you made it. It was great that you waited for some folks to show you the way. I'm hiking this next week, and I cannot wait.
Get off my mountain
5424 ft. Is really high. nebraska is the 20th highest state. That's over a mile high.it is higher than Denver CO by 144 ft. I would like to see that someday and go to scotts bluff national monument and Chemney Rock too. I live in Oklahoma and it is number 23 with the black mesa at 4973 ft high. I've been wanting to go the black mesa and hopefully I can sometime soon.
@Skyward Music I sure would like to go to the top of Black Elk Peak. Isn't that taller than everything in the entire eastern part of the USA?
Come back, Tofi Texas!
can you bike part of the way
I can't honestly remember whether there was a rule against that, but my feeling is that there was. Based on memory, the trail seems ridable certainly the first two miles or so up to where you cross that river. I seem to recall that being fairly flat and less rocky; however, I know for sure I did not see any bikes anywhere on the trail.
I ran into the same problem near the top. I started down the trail you were on but knew it could not be right so I just so turned around and found the correct way up to the top.
There's a Chinese line, quoting a line of poem from a Chinese poet 1000 years ago " Once you climb to the peak, you overlook all other mounts!"
Texas is one of my favorite states really amazing geology!
don't forget the hills have eyes
Have u seen any pronghorns there?
Dude, the video shakes way too much, but thanks for sharing, either way.
Are there snipe on the grass?
I only saw one, but she was ferocious. I think she was protecting her den.
This was my mommas favorite. So beautiful!
It's hard to believe that this is the highest point in Indiana. I've been to Brown County, which has some pretty high hills.
I was thinking the same thing!
Decent hills in Morgan County on the way to Brown County as well.
Que rico sería fumar Mota ahí
October 25th..started trekking up Mount Frissel around 4 pm. (Huge mistake) foggy, wet and slippery....the red paint trail leads are fading away...so ..I lost the trail several times....But...through thick and thin I made it to all 3 points...Mt Frissel Summit, 2 state register and finally. 3 state monument..... Making it back to the trailhead was terrifying...slipped and fell several times on the slick rocks....daylight was fading and trail markers on trees and rocks were dissapearing .... survival mode kicked in...made to the parking lot at 5 past 6pm. Huge relief.....
Bitch alot?
Nice effort keep doing good job
Great hike. Great video. One question. Why didn't you stop at Indian Falls and enjoy the great view of the MacIntyre Range?
This is North Carolina
The time i went here and I was walking up I saw a snake by a tiny log in the bushes
Rutroh. Haha. Sadly, the mining waste heap in Ishpeming is the highest point in Michigan. The lowest point is the mining pit less than a mile away from the high point. I'm putting effort into starting a trend encouraging people to bring a rock up to the high point of Mount Arvon with them and start a stack. If enough people do it, it will soon be the highest point in Michigan again.. I mean, until the next year when they stack more waste on top of the pile and Ishpeming.
Cool video!!!!
This was a fun hike. I went up the Sunset Ridge trail and back the Long trail to Maple Ridge. It was clouded over at the summit but I had great views on the way down. Would do this hike again.
Great views 😁 from up there 👍😎
I only saw one, but she was quite ferocious. I believe she was protecting her den.
I've watched this video many times in hopes that one I'd finally get to hike it. Well that time is next week. Actually doing this, Mansfield and Washington in NH as a training hike for Mt. Whitney in July. It's tough to get any type of elevation living here on the East Coast. Your video gives me a good idea of what to expect.
That's awesome my friend, good luck to you.
Love Mount Frissell
Just a clarification. Most of the Clingmans Dome access road and all of the parking facilities area is in NC. Even the Clingmans Dome Lookout Tower is in NC so when you are on the lookout tower you are standing on the North Carolina side. The beautiful Dome is the third highest mountain in NC and the highest mountain in Tn. Just mentioning because you only noted Tn in your text. Thanks.
The first high point is Lions head and next is near mountain which is the highest point at 2380 feet
I meant bear mountain
Thanks for these videos. Enjoying them all.
Awesome hike. 2 hours and 15 minutes. Challenge accepted.
Great to see you back at highpointing
I thought that it would be higher
How'd they figure this was the highest point? I mean some places in Brown County indiana are pretty stinking high. They even have a lookout point that looks like Kentucky imo
Your description and commentary was hilarious. "non descript land among some sparsely populated area" describes it perfectly. I spent the first 8 years of my life in that general area, in BelleCenter and Kenton. There's a lot of history there. Very strong spiritual presence too. They should build an observation deck where the benches are.
This was a beautiful high point. Didn’t know Georgia had mountains like this.
