Just a clarification. Most of the Clingmans Dome access road and all of the parking facilities area is in NC. Even the Clingmans Dome Lookout Tower is in NC so when you are on the lookout tower you are standing on the North Carolina side. The beautiful Dome is the third highest mountain in NC and the highest mountain in Tn. Just mentioning because you only noted Tn in your text. Thanks.

I wish those guardrails went a little higher.

What a circus! Way too many people to enjoy it.And why did they not just leave the trail natural?

I hope to see it one day. I recently visited Mt. Mitchell in western North Carolina. At 6,684 feet, it is the highest point in the United States that is located east of the Mississippi River.

Too crowded, & isn’t even considered mountain climbing. Mountains should be challenging not a damn tourist attraction. Society is shit
