    Don’t stop making videos man. You are better than most channels I sub to that have a million plus subscribers. I’m not sure what the magic formula is for blowing up but your content is already there to have this be your main gig.

      I swear there’s a 50% chance I would’ve abandoned this channel by now if it weren’t for you. I’m not convinced you aren’t just my Nana secretly trying to encourage me. She’s so kind.

      ah trust me I'm not nana. my last job was a industrial robotic tech. your channel always gives me a chuckle. I just like the way you look at stuff. Fun but analytical. Keep it up i always look forward to your content. I just don't get why your channel doesn't blow up.@@thedoubtfultechnician8067

    I'll keep saying this until it gets old - you're the funny, hip, younger, and informational version of AvE. And not to take away from you. We know there's no ill intent to copy. You're you, and by God PLEASE keep being you. We like the you that you is... . Am... are/ yes.

    This may come as a shock, but many of these types of flashlights are MADE TO start fires. They cannot SAY that in any ads, but any outdoorsman will tell you that having a fire starter flashlight is the thing to have. The one thing I wish they DID have, was a better switch design. You're right when you say that it's too easy to have these turn on by themselves if they're ruffled around in some backpack or something. People who pack out at times have a solar arrangement to keep these charged up, just so the fire starter feature is always available.

    It's quite impressive if you think about it: There are so many of those tiny little, mass-less photons coming out of this thing, it can ignite stuff.... I know the sun and Lasers do that on a daily base, but somehow I'm always impressed by the power of flashlights nowadays ;)

  • @tinymetaltrees
    @tinymetaltrees หลายเดือนก่อน

    There have been ads on youtube for firestarting tactical survival flashlights. This seems to fit the bill. I don't think that you are supposed to touch the lens with the material that you set on fire.

  • @Random_4400
    @Random_4400 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    You are definitely much better off with something from sofirn, Wurkkos or acebeam. All those lights also have a lockout function so you can't accidentally activate it if it's in a bag. For the price they are asking for this light it is definitely not worth it. There's a lot of much better options out there that make this flashlight seem like a toy.

    Reminds me of the movie 'Real Genius';
    "Chris Knight : It's a chemical laser but in solid, not gaseous, form. Put simply, in deference to you, Kent, it's like lasing a stick of dynamite. As soon as we apply a field, we couple to a state that is radiatively coupled to the ground state. I figure we can extract at least ten to the twenty-first photons per cubic centimeter which will give one kilojoule per cubic centimeter at 600 nanometers, or, one megajoule per liter."

    lol I mean if its truly 7000 LUMENS that’s no joke serious business i would expect it to burn stuff. I’ve seen 1000 lumen pistol lights scorch stuff the same way. I saw this thing on the website & googled it that’s how I found your video, To be honest I was surprised to see 7000lumen for 49.99 (sale) in the first place. That turning off part is the only thing that bothers me smh so your OLD one was turning off not the new one right

    • @thedoubtfultechnician8067
      @thedoubtfultechnician8067  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Old one did. Didn’t keep the new one long enough to find out. Returned it and spent the money on a thrunite archer mini and a sofirn sp33 v3.

      @@thedoubtfultechnician8067 a man of culture i see. check out the wurkkos fc12. it's been a solid light for me and its 2000 lumens. wurkkos is the sister company to sofirn. also have a few sofirns and thrunites, much bang for little buck lol

  • @mrofinUtortxoF
    @mrofinUtortxoF หลายเดือนก่อน

    well of course it emits light, and light may be transferred into heat and fire over time. I've always thought it's normal.
    Just don't buy flashlights with power button protruding from the case. Or ones with drivers that may lock the button.

    I personally think that the cheap thermal paste you used to replace the original stuff with in the last video was just not up to the task of cooling that thing, probably the main cause of problem no. 1.

    • @thedoubtfultechnician8067
      @thedoubtfultechnician8067  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      1. What makes you think I used cheap thermal paste?
      2. The one in this video was fresh out of the box, with factory thermal paste.

    • @m.streicher8286
      @m.streicher8286 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Any thermal paste he was able to buy is almost guaranteed to be more expensive than what was originally used.

      it's not the heat from the flashlight itself, it's about amount of light it emits. Like, sun may also cause burns.
