Gazelle Tent Hacks. Includes how to rig a tarp off of tent.
มุมมอง 16K3 ปีที่แล้ว
I really like my Gazelle T4 model. But like anything, there are ways to make it a little better or a little easier to use. I especially wanted to be able to rig a tarp out over the door. Captions should be available for those unable to withstand the Cicada noise!
KIA Telluride Design Flaw. The "fatal funnel" and an easy fix
มุมมอง 51K3 ปีที่แล้ว
I absolutely love my 2021 Kia Telluride EX with premium package. No doubt, it is the nicest vehicle I have ever owned. But there is a design flaw that would allow damage. The good news? There is an easy fix. I received great customer service from this gentleman. He even sent a personal email to ensure and clarify my order. voltshelf.weebly.com/kia-telluride.html
My new pop-up camper!
มุมมอง 1.2K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Life changes so I have adapted my concept of camping. Out with the Rockwood HW276 pop up and I down sized to this beauty. For me at least, this has been a wonderful switch. The Gazelle tent has made my camping so much easier. It no longer feels like a hassle, load up and take off for a few days.
Cold weather tent camping
มุมมอง 1573 ปีที่แล้ว
This last winter I decided to try out some cold weather tent camping. I used a Moko 4 season tent. This video is a combination of 2 trips to the same sight. The first try was a pleasant 70 degrees during the day and down to just 40 at night. The second trip was much colder! I hate being cold. I wasn't sure why I was doing this at the time. But since this video was done (November 2020) I have co...

MoKo 4-season tent - set up and review
มุมมอง 1.2K3 ปีที่แล้ว
I have camped in the MoKo 4 season 3 person tent twice in this video. , I show you the problems with setting it up solo, but it can be done. Since recording this video I have camped a third time and the set up went even quicker. Once the outer shell rainfly is set up everything else is easy. My first night out the temp got down to the low 40's degrees (F). My second time out it got down to 24 d...
Wellax sleeping pad review
มุมมอง 8K3 ปีที่แล้ว
I purchased the WELLAX UtraThick FlexFoam Sleeping pad. This bad boy fills out to be 3 inches thick. In this video, I have used it for tent camping in cold weather. It did not disappoint! Probably to heavy and cumbersome for a hiking sleep pad. I am a side sleeper and the Wellax pad was the answer for a good night's sleep.
Huel Hot and Savory Review and taste test

I am always on the look out for a quick and easy healthy meal. I have gone through a combined total of 3 bags of the Huel, "Tomato and Herb" as well as the "Thai Green Curry" versions. They work for me. But I am only one opinion. I therefore include the results of a 9 person taste test! Also at the end I give a first taste review of a Huel Bar. Huel also now offers a third Hot and Savory versio...

Huel Versus Ka'chava- Which is better?
มุมมอง 42K3 ปีที่แล้ว
I tried both the Huel and Ka'chava meal replacement drink powders. I definitely lean more towards one than the other. These are meant to be a meal replacement drink and not just a protein powder. They are expensive! Are they worth the money? I tried the Huel Black version and the Ka'chava; both in chocolate flavor. Huel markets that you can be a "Hueligan" where Ka'chava suggests you join the "...
Pop up-tent camper lift system lubrication
มุมมอง 32K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Our camper lift system was making a loud popping noise so I realized it was time to lubricate it. This is a Goshen 2660 system used on most Forest River campers since 1994. Ideally, the camper should be leveled prior to lifting the roof. The lubrication seemed to help as the popping noise has resolved.

Camco RV Fridge Airator test
มุมมอง 1.7K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Here is a test run of the Camco RV fridge Airator. These pop up refrigerators take FOR EVER to cool down. They tend to function poorly in high heat and can take over 12 hours to get cool. Many people add an exterior baffle and exhaust fans which have been shown to help. As mostly a weekend warrior, it is almost not even worth the effort to cool the fridge down...we mostly just use a big ice che...

DON'T BUY. These are HORRIBLE for any real distance driving. I bought these for my 2021 Kia Telluride for a road trip between Tampa, FL to Seattle. I've made the trip in the same car previously without these, and nothing bad happened. So I tried these as a just-in-case. All of these bent from dragonfly and random bug strikes, and all of them wither bent inwards creating an opening, or peeled out of their rubber edge rings, creating seriously dangerous-to-grab situations. One mesh was even hanging of the front bumper - even though all of them were zip-tied. I had to cut the zip ties and throw them all in the trash by the time I hit the mid-west. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY.

I'm not quite sure what happened here, if you would send some pictures to me, i would love to analyze them and see what is going on and what can be done. I have not heard of this issue at all previously. Some of the stated concerns sound possibly like installation issues. These are metal mesh screens, bugs and dragon flies should not bend or damage them. A rock might dent one, but that is a badge of honor, letting you know your radiator was spared. HTH!

It's designed for things to get in the grill it's about a 3 grand fix at the dealership. And the auto makers sells the dealer the parts to fix it

    • @SteveVoltShop
      @SteveVoltShop 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

I don't think manufacturers purposely design grills to let rocks and debris in and help increase parts sales, but I also think they know what it takes to protect a radiator. The seem to be choosing high design over protection, busted radiators and condensers are just the collateral damage. And it isn't their problem because it isn't a warranty issue. So they seem to not be concerned with spending your money for you after the sale....

Happened to me too. 2023 KIA Sorento EX Hybrid. One little random rock dented the coolant coils and leaked inverter fluid everywhere. Replacement part and labor cost $1100. Debating whether to have a custom auto body install a home depot type screen $450 (bumper has to be removed) or buy the internal set from Volt Shelf. Looking for any videos on how hard or easy it would be to install these. I think it can happen to any car but something about new KIAs and the size of the opening. KIA mechanic said he's repaired 3 in the last few months.

Is one of your reasons for adding the awning the fact that the factory rainfly does not entirely cover the doors? So if you open the doors in the rain, rainfly run-off will flow inside the tent(without your awning)?

It wore me out . Times have changed. That is a monster of a tent, camper ? The support for the bed doesn’t look very strong. At 275 plays a 125 lbs woman is 400 plus children jumping ect and that doesn’t look safe. I’d rather have a small trailer. Pull up level up plug in and start the grill !

It is much easier to put the bar in above the bed if you do it before you do the zippers on the side wall. It took me a couple of times setting up the camper before I realized that. Good video for first time set up. I have the HW 277 and love it.

Thank you for showing us this set up! Both of you worked so hard - you did a great job and I wish you happy camping. I must say, though, that this was one more nail in the coffin for popups for me; I’m going directly to a hybrid camper. Love the tent ends… but all the Velcro, door set-up, and a wet bathroom were too much for me.

I have a love/hate relationship with Gazelle tents. I've had one T3, and two T4 Overland Editions. The T3 door zippers failed (2020) - all 4 of them. I needed a replacement ASAP, as I was "transitioning" to life as a nomad. It was under warranty, and would be replaced as such. Trouble was, the T3 was on backorder, so I decided to upgrade to the T4 OE for what seemed like a very reasonable price. Back on the road - the T4's zippers fail. Back to the city to wait for another replacement under warranty. I'm using that one now, and the zippers have ALL failed. I've gotten pretty good (so far) at "fixing them", which entails squeezing the back-end of the pull where it's supposed to interlock the teeth together. Also, a carpenter's pencil is handy to rake along the teeth to help smooth the action a bit. I think there's a design flaw in pairing the hub style walls with a zipper that is struggling to deal with the tension created. Also, quality control was asleep at the wheel on my current tent. - most notably during the seam taping process, and the sewing of the panels. Of course, not everyone uses (or depends on) their tent as much as I do. Camping tents are not designed for heavy use, or they'd cost way more. I think I need a van. 😆 Oh, about knots - I like the app Knots 3D. It has user controlled speed of an animation of the knot being tied. Very handy!

Thank you for actually showing how this pop-up is put together! I've watched several videos on Pop-up trailers, but all of them are already "magically" up and together! It is nice to see how it's done! I am even more vertically challenged than you, plus as a female I don't have the arm/shoulder strength that even the smallest male would have! I would have to do a "pop-up trial" prior to any purchase, just to make sure that I would be able to open and setup the camper myself.
