  • Here is a test run of the Camco RV fridge Airator. These pop up refrigerators take FOR EVER to cool down. They tend to function poorly in high heat and can take over 12 hours to get cool. Many people add an exterior baffle and exhaust fans which have been shown to help. As mostly a weekend warrior, it is almost not even worth the effort to cool the fridge down...we mostly just use a big ice chest. Let's see if the Camco fan helps any.

I have the exact same fridge in my Aliner. I’ve found it cools better on 120v AC. Also an exhaust fan (computer fan) blowing air out the top vent outside makes a huge difference. The Aliner has an exhaust fan system that turns the fan on base on temp.
I find turning on the fridge the day before and then loading in food either the night before or the morning of the trip works very well. Leave the fridge running pong off the battery while driving to your destination. As long as you’re not traveling thru tunnels or on a ferry you can also run it off propane while driving. If you elect to power it off the battery, make sure you have a good, high gauge wire on the car side to send enough amps thru the 7 pin to tour trailer battery to keep it charged otherwise you may arrive to your camping spot with less than a full battery.
