Good stuff. For any new visitor to my channel I always recommend visiting my Animenz playlist.

Next one is Guren no Yumiya, even more exciting.

I like.

I thought it was just me. I didn’t really like this until after I recorded the piece and having listened to it on loop for some time. It became quite addictive. I suppose this is an “acquired taste”.

Oops!! I thought I was reading comment on Sasageyo released today. This took over a month. Maybe less than 2. This is extremely difficult. Some sections are more difficult than Unravel, but it’s not as difficult “throughout”. That’s why I ranked this behind Unravel on overall difficulty. If we consider the length of the piece, this was a nightmare to polish and get through the whole thing in one piece.

It’s hard to explain. This only took me less than a week to learn. Usually that’s because the piece uses techniques that I’m used to. On the opposite, A Cruel’s Angel’s Thesis, even though the difficulty doesn’t seem too bad (in the end), it took me quite a while because it feels “new” to my hands. The next release, Guren no Yumiya, is very similar to this, it’s difficult because it’s much faster. If you tone down the speed a little, it’s not that difficult. But as is, it’s extremely fast. I pretty much went presto on that one.

@@RichardYangPiano Animenz set Guren No Yumiya’s tone as Presto Agitato, so I guess fast is the right way to go. Maybe because I pick up things fast, most of the Animenz’s song I can pick up in a shorter period (less than a week for 3 pages). However my progress somehow slows down when it goes on and on. To master an Animenz piece, I can spend a couple months or even a year. Surprisingly, I went through Bios 10th anniversary version in 2 weeks but I just couldn’t master Only My Railgun even using a whole year. Probably because the lack of my dexterity, runs and arpeggios really disturbs me a lot. But with pieces like Bios with less runs and more polyphonic stuff, I can get through really quick.

@@lightbulbDDP You learned Bios in 2 weeks? Respect man. I’m pretty good at sight reading. But Bios was still very tough learning the notes. In general, classically trained pianists should be able to handle runs better naturally only because in the classical repertoire, things are generally full of runs and everything. Lack of a better term, music outside of classical have been filtered down so each piece only requires a limited amount of techniques. Guren no Yumiya, mine is just slightly faster than Animenz. Not error free though, way too fast, but should be exciting. The only other working version on TH-cam doesn’t come close.

@@RichardYangPiano Thanks for your compliment! Probably I’m a half-baked classical pianist(taught by teacher) and I really had a tough time dealing with runs (continuously). This makes me nearly impossible to attempt ARSM or any Chopin etudes. Anyway, the show must go on. I did improved compared with a couple months ago. Looking forward to see your Guren No Yumiya’s cover!

Colors should come eventually. But that run I do it quite differently than Animenz. His much wider reach allows him to use a more straightforward fingering. Sayonara Memories, I don’t think there’s enough audience for me to do one. That’s a difficult piece.

Both NieR albums (in my playlist) are so beautiful it’s so unreal for game music. To play like this, you need imagination and experimentation to see what feels good.

Not even close. Any Animenz that I can learn within a week is not that difficult. Surprisingly, Guren no Yumiya, I don’t think it should be in the Top 10 either. There is possibility that these use classical techniques that I’m used to (even though these sound nothing classical).

Part 3 drove me insane. Have a couple of AoT’s next to balance things out. I have a feeling you aim to finish all of Animenz’s AoT.

This is the kinda piece for my younger self. Compared to when I was 17/18, my stamina is now halved in my 40s. For the recording, I played continuously for like 3-4 hours, got maybe 3-4 potential takes. Picked this one where the mistakes are not from more important spots. People have no idea how difficult it is to record this piece in full. I didn’t want to just record each part separately.

I usually played the last part much better. But I had to settle with the take where I didn’t completely mess up Part 3 (battle). That part is SUPER difficult!

@@FormP Overall, this is one of the craziest things I’ve played.

4:01 was impossible. That’s the fastest octaves in a very not jump-friendly key I’ve ever attempted. And the LH run before that is probably the most awkward one I’ve ever played so far. And before that, the repeated notes, this was difficult only because the N1X keys are so heavy.
