To me, since Avid is a quite simple piece, it requires more articulation on notes or it sounds very flat. Getting used to Only My Railgun kind of fast-paced and full power piece (which can still keep the tension by pure technique and passion), it was surprisingly hard for me to keep such delicate touch through the whole piece on Avid. Still have a long way to go😂
Slower pieces are almost always more difficult to record. For example, playing a chord at a slow tempo, even a slight change in touch can affect the tone.
Should I learn this piece? I’m self taught and I can play the simplified version of this exact song and I can play 2mins of my dearest theishter version. My technique is probably wrong but I want to enjoy it for fun. It looks difficult and easy at the same time somehow.
Don’t worry about the soft pedal, you’re not losing much there. This is one of the easiest Animenz arrangements. In theory, most parts should be playable if you’re not seeking perfection. Judging from how you described your experience, you might not be “intermediate” yet, which would make this a good challenge. Good thing is, the “fairly-easy” parts lasts for a while. So if anything, you’ll have some parts that can be presentable eventually even if it’s not the full piece. But as a wanna-be teacher, I always recommend taking any given piece to the finish line.
@@RichardYangPianoWhy is that? Honestly, I've completed only maybe a fraction like 1/64 of all the pieces I learn... Kinda bad I guess. But I mostly go for the climax and the parts I like to most. Even now I'm re-learning avid but mostly focusing on the run or at (i) section
@@deat3321Getting through the piece in full is what propels you forward in piano. Normally people just play the part they want (Unravel the wall for example), and they never get through and move to the next piece. That way you never really learn.
Awesome tutorial, just bought the sheet music today. How long did it take you to learn this? I’m self taught and also learning hitori by fonzi M right now. I don’t think this will be super hard, just difficult to get the pedaling and right technique for my hands.
@@RichardYangPiano oh ok, I think since I’m fairly new it’ll take me around a month or more. On the piece I’m learning now I’m around half way through.
@@RichardYangPianoI’m sorry but what do the circle c things mean in place of the beat for the tempo? In most pieces that I’ve bought it’s 4-4. I’m self taught and just tryna get the tempo right. So far I’ve gotten to the end of section B and just speeding up now. Thank you for your tutorial, helped me resonate the keys like holding that A and emphasizing the middle. 👍
@@garfield_thedog1188 C = 4/4. You don’t usually need to look at this because when you read the music it becomes apparent that there are 4 quarter notes in a measure. Remember to keep the pace stable.
@@RichardYangPianoI had to take a break for a while and I’m at the part you have that first run at the bottom of page 2. Do you use the petal for it? because when I try to play full speed it sounds off. Also I’m struggling to keep my left hand at the same pace as my right on the same part.
Great job with these tutorials, I love them! I've just completed Hikaru Nara and am now beginning to learn Avid.
Cool man. I hope the content makes sense.
Nice! I love these tutorials, they just give me confidence to finish a song. I'm considering membership next month 😊
I’ll be able to see a star beside your name once you’re in.
You know what I would love to see a tutorial for? Quatre mains from the last evangelion movie🫡
You as a member, I do consider requests. If you can find me the sheet music I’ll try my best.

It's finally here!🎉 The tutorial!! You've motivated me to try to play this song honestly... I suck at piano....😅
If something does / doesn’t make sense, let me know eh.
Awesome video!!
Nice work!!! will give it a shot
