Coolest wedding ever!
Great job bringing back that speedster! Enjoyed watching the fun.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Morning Gary! Heads up, our local scrap yard over here in Oakley is closing. The owner passed away. They are clearing the place out if you want to go look around
I appreciate the heads up, I am not sure if you’ve seen videos of me bringing home stuff from Delta Scrap but I’ve known the owner Ken for many years and I had no idea he passed. I’ve been staying away because I always drag home too much stuff. After I got your comment I called over and talk to them and plan on going over there today. Appreciate the heads up. Gary
@OldIronMachineWorks I live right down the street and drive by everyday. Bummer about Ken and the yard closing up. I always end up dragging home stuff I don't need too. Brought home an arbor press, enerpac pump and jack and a come along yesterday.
@ it was good seeing you at the scrapyard, I brought my Ford ranger, thinking it would limit how much I put in the back and I think I overloaded it 😊
Reminded me of my first job, over 50 years ago, at Farrell's. I would carry two of those canisters in each hand to refill the soda pop dispenser. I think they were over 40# each, full of syrup. Today I'd have to test first to see I could carry even one.
Sounds like a tough job, but the good old days! Appreciate you watching
Two videos in less than a month. I guess I'm going to have to catch up now. You must be at least the second coolest grandpa in Rio Vista at this point. All the best, Tom
Second coolest 🤔 I know you haven’t been sitting around watching soap operas all day. So looking forward to a new video out from you. Always nice to have you stop by Tom.
I really like your videos. You remind me of my dad who had 3 bad allergies. One allergy to depreciation, one to paying interest and one to paying someone to do anything for him. I don’t know if you have the allergies but he always had a good simple straightforward approach to everything because them, you have those same characteristics. Nice project! Thanks for sharing!
You nailed it! I hate paying someone to do something that I can do myself. I’m sure your dad and myself would of got along really well. Thanks for watching
Always enjoy your videos, welcome back.
Thank you, hoping to get more videos out soon!
One of my favorite boat styles .. if you still need it there is a guy in Antioch that does boat upholstery out of his garage . Message me and I will give you his contact information
David, I appreciate you watching. Would love any information on people in the area that do upholstery. If it’s easier you can send the information to oldironmachineworks@yahoo.com.
I have washed motors in a bucket of naphtha and it’s ran fine I never thought it would run 😮but the stupid supervisor told me to do it ? Duh but it works 😅
If this is out of line, please delete . Is there a practical way the rebuild a large cast iron Queen City grinder inner stand/ shield. I don't have the missing pieces.
Gary, excellent video Brother, brings back many memories for me! I had the same Sanger but blue with the 460, Berkeley jet drive and Jetovator in the mid 90's, what a great boat!!! Great job on the repairs and wheel narrowing.
Ray, great to have you stop by and check out the video I got rid of my last jet boat in the early 90s and didn’t think I’d ever get back into it but it’s been a lot of fun with the family. But it’s nowhere near the project of your nova, I don’t do as good at responding to videos as I should but I’ve watched every video you’ve done along the way and followed on Instagram and it’s one beautiful car. Anyway, I hope you’re doing well. Gary
Nice to see you are well and making new content.
I appreciate that!
Welcome back!! Good to see ya, great video Gary, keep'um coming.
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it.
Looks like it moves out pretty good!
Brian, always nice having you stop by the channel. For a 22 foot long boat it goes right at 50 miles an hour with two adults and two full tanks of fuel. And they offered the same boat in a V Drive, which definitely faster with a prop than a jet, but I like the way a jet boat maneuvers in and out and away from docs, and I don’t have to worry about hitting something submerged and wrecking my boat. Again, thanks for stopping by and hope you’re doing well. Gary
I love that you could have just found the right sized rims for $20 ea but went to the work to narrow the wheels instead. 😊
Thx for sharing all the family fun with us. Been saving this footage for a bit. Always enjoy seeing your fixes while being frugal.
I appreciate your kind words, thanks for watching.
I wouldn't want to hit that log @ 60 mph!
Nope, it would definitely ruin your day. Appreciate you watching.
Awesome video, crazy builds, amazing troubleshooting, super family time…great looking boat…thanks for sharing ❤
Chuck needs a jet boat!
Thank you Chuck. It’s always nice having you stop by the channel my friend.
Hours and hours of recreational tinkering 🤣 And I almost forgot having fun with the kids is priceless
I could not have said it better. Appreciate you taking the time to watch the video. Gary
Good to see you back.👍👍
Thank you, Paul
Too long, young man. HappyNewYear.
Remains one of my favourite channels. Thanks for sharing Gary :)
Paul, I really appreciate those kind words. Thanks for watching. Gary
Hey Gary good to see ya posting again i always enjoy your videos now go save another lathe so we can see ya a little more 😂
That’s too funny, you reminded me that I do have another Lathe under a tarp at work. I still need to bring home. A few months back I went to a big estate sale and ended up buying way more stuff than I wanted or needed. But they were motivated to get rid of everything and letting stuff go pennies on the dollar. I don’t know how much people like watching videos of people bringing home stuff but I may put together another tidbits video of the tools that I bought in 2024. Appreciate you stopping by the channel. Gary
Wonderful to see on the water, cheers from Florida, Paul
Thank you Paul, I appreciate that!
Glad to see you having fun.
That Holley takes me back to high school auto shop in '67. That was the first carb I ever did a rebuild on. Shocked the hell out of me when I put it back on my brother's '57 T-Bird and it worked. Thanks for the video, Gary. Good to see you back. Nice view of the bridge from the water.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the kind words about the bridge. I think my first Holley was somewhere around 1977. It was a 650 double pumper. I was putting in my 67 mustang when I was a sophomore in high school. Where does the time go, appreciate you stopping by the channel.
I'll have to remember that horizontal wheel cutter in the Bridgeport trick.
Great Video, Thanks for taking us along!
Thank you for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Great fun to follow you through another project, Gary. Nicely done.
Thank you, I appreciate that! And it’s been a while since you’ve put out a video Joe
Enjoy your videos Gary. Hope the work on your house is going well. Also my son drives a truck for Case like you did. I’m sure proud of him.
I appreciate you taking the time to watch my video. I just recently finished a new roof project on my house. Definitely ended up costing more than I was hoping but I wanted a roof that will outlast my kids as well as myself. Always that balance point between putting time and money into your property and also working on the things that you enjoy working on. Thanks for watching
good to have you back sure looked like a lot of fun
It sure was! It's been a long time. Thanks for taking the time to watch the video.
What a pleasant surprise to see a q new video. I am glad you are doing well. Was wondering. Always enjoy your no nonsense approach to getting thing done. You are a lucky man to have such a beautiful, loving family.
Fantastic job ! keep 5 fire extinguishers and fire blanket two sets of battery's bulge pumps race car types of fuel cells on the boat .
Nice to see a video from you after a long absence, especially one as fun and relaxing as this one. Congratulations on the nice boat.
Thank you, I really appreciate that. It’s hard sometimes coming up with a video that most people will enjoy. But I wanted to show a little more of my life than just standing in front of the of the lather mill. I appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment.
Cool boat Gary. I can remember being sore from head to toe after bear foot water skiing. The tube was deadly. Nice repairs on that list of stuff. Great to see a new video.
Randy, always nice to have you stop by the channel. Growing up on the water I definitely spent a lot of time on a ski, and a little bear footing also. Later this year, I will turn 65 so I plan on being in a little better shape to show the kids I can still get around on a single ski. At least that’s what I’m telling myself ,time will tell. Thanks for watching.
Wow, great fun. Good to see you, Gary and the family. 👍 That’s the same style engine I had in the bronco 💪💪
Dean, great to have you stop by the channel. I’m just getting a chance to respond to my comments. So I assume you sold your bronco which I think was 78 or 79 and I just seen on Instagram where you sold your bump side Ford which would be 72 or older so now you have no more old vehicles? I think that Bronco had either 351M or 400 that came in them. I recently bought a 1976 short wheelbase four-wheel-drive that came with the 360. So I had to get a couple more trucks in order to get the parts I want to put in it. I will build up at 460 that’ll go into it. But I also bought a couple Jeepster commando’s I’m working on also 😄may have to start a second channel, call it the rebuilding of old iron 😄 thanks for stopping by Dean.
@ yeah sold the Bronco & bought a 2017 Tundra; little more comfort for an old guy 😀 The f250 is going to a TH-cam buddy.
@ The 460 is a good choice. About the same fuel mileage as the FE 360 and a ton more power. And you can fit up an overdrive tranny.
Gary is back! Great to see a video from you. I have built a 460 before in a Lincoln. Great engines. ----Doozer
Thank you Doozer, it's good to be back and I appreciate you watching!
A great looking boat!
Thank you
Nice to see what you are up to Gary. You went all out with a place to park it. Nice time on the water.
Thank you, I appreciate you watching Randy. Even though I have not been putting out videos, I’ve still been dragging home stuff right and left, just hard to find the time to sit and edit a video. Hope you and family are doing well. Gary
Good to see you back
It is really good to see new content from you again.
Thanks! I'm looking forward to getting more videos out this year.
Wonderful video, this is my 2 me time, love your attention to detail. Cheers from Florida, Paul
Great detailed video! Love when someone takes their time and tries to do their best. It’s great to see someone save these Great American made machines. Question do you rebuild these machines for anyone?
Always love watching your videos, even for the second or third time, cheers from Florida, Paul
Glad to see you're well. Miss the videos.
Outstanding information in this video.
Ugh well if it's going to triple your time in production then taking the time to make it worth while isn't wasting time"
Merry Belated Christmas an New Year! I am still behind 🙂 I thought for sure that was a hay ring when you first showed it. lol
I miss your video’s so much I am rewatching them.
It's always good to hear from you Gary! I know I'm late but I hope you all had a great Christmas, Happy New Year! Thanks for sharing and take care!!
Thanks for the well wishes. You too!
