I have watched and re-watched this episode. Love both people so much... Great conversation!
Are right wing folks really funny. I always feel like only socialists like to pretend this is true. While most socdems know that the right can't meme and is never funny. Why do we have to pretend that they are actually funny? Like, "we wuz kangs" is only dlfunny if you know no black people and secretly say the Nword.
Yes. Next question. Side Note: JJ is rapidly becoming known for being a toxic centrist that wants to build his brand. This is the easiest way to do that. Rambling for an hour and forty eight minutes.
Its actually called "The ballbag left"
What in the actual shit is this.
lol trump wins and dems say damn we gotta go further right
can someone help me understand how is it not disgusting to be so infatuated with the unabomber? three people died and 23 were maimed for life. I am trying to be open but I find it utterly disgusting and I almost didn’t finish the podcast out of sheer emotion.
Finally, having the language to describe my lived experience is so incredibly powerful. Thank you for sharing your life’s work.
His understanding of "unrealized gains" is fucking dumbshit level. Unrealized gains is a tax on what is being held, not what is being sold. It is only taxed at the end of the year (or quarterly by decision) and your 2022 FY gains are considered principle in 2023 FY, therefore wouldn't not be double taxed. Loses of 2023 FY in unrealized GAINS can be subtracted from taxes owed 2023 FY (paid in 2024). It is a tax on gains NOT realized through sales. What a dumb fucking take on this. I would love to see his dumbshit take on how progressive taxation works. Please fact check bullshit.
woke
Every Marxist I've ever known is as petulant and smug as her.
Protect Dan at all cost...
Eh? Talk some bollocks u wuss
Amber A’Lee Frost this lady is spot on with this shit. I never checked out chapo but she sure does say stuff that makes sense. Interviewer was fantastic also you can tell when someone is interviewing with genuine interest hats off to yall.
hard pass
I find this pretty shallow. I am someone who was deprogrammed from being a Trump supporter. I think Elle Reeve's book "The Black Pill" has more insight.
This guy looks AI generated. like wtf bro did you just pop out of a cryo chamber or something. AGI is a spook. Godel, Penrose and Nolan want a word with you. Consciousness is not a calculation. It is simply profitable for capital to sell this. This is just the real time erosion of digital literacy. As a digital artist and creative developer, this shit is laughable. Leave it to people with no technical skills whatsoever to play make believe to justify their 2009 Republican uncle politics. At the end of the day if your "singularity" (which these freaks have been saying is right around the corner since 1970s) runs on millions of gpus in the desert somewhere, im gonna be more impressed by the actual engineering and programming genius that powers, say, a GameBoy. Thats probably all you need to realistically economically plan a city state. Actually impressive technology does not need guns and hype. The reality of whats actually possible if we had a digitally literate society and if all software was FOSS and federated would surpass what AGI can do a hundred times over. You should talk to a free software dev, fedi dev or livecoder if you want to actually hear about a human centric vision for the 21st century, not play patty cakes with technofeudalists. At least if you say your on the "left". Or are you just another artsy liberal who stands on nothing like all the rest?
ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZzzzzzZZZZzzz
Love Jack
"biden has been the best president for unions ever" does not change the other facts about reality like "the minimum wage has been 7.25 for decades" and "40% of Americans live below the poverty line"
Much as this dude seems to know about the world, he seems completely decoupled from reality
Literally.. he’s a tech bro egg. Struggling to come out of the closet and transition
Interview @Xaniken - probably the funniest guntwitter personality. Not sure if he will be ever willing to appear on camera though
anyone talking about the singularity favorably also knows the age of consent laws for every state
The most sus guest so far. Crypto guy that says AGI is “inevitable” and “close” and is “really concerned about antisemitism”
Landian brainrot that Josh takes "very seriously"
Great interview lol
Im seeing a trend here: josh is at least 3x smarter than all of the guests on this pod
This guy is yet another deliusional person who thinks agi is around the corner, and that corporatocracy needs even more power, and that ubi is already in a sense some crypto nonsense he couldn't even describe.
Yappin so hard he’s convinced himself of his own bullshit.
The left failed in its goals so I’m going to the right because at least I can salvage face than being judged by the other. The post post leftist boomer goes full circle and says hold my beer if you can’t beat ‘em become them.
Oh brother this guy stinks
I get that this interview is already very long, but I would have been interested to hear what was cut out at 6:53. Maybe as a tangent it was too niche/British to be relatable to the audience though 🤷
I spaced out and thought I was back in my Anthro college class
absolutely the hardest 45mins of doomscrolling so far holy shiiiiit
what music did ecco2k contribute here lol
Great content, as always! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
My question is why should anyone trust his assessment of where things are going? I believe him when he says he believes in class war, but he's clearly chosen his class of allies. Keller’s investment in AGI could only be the result of an intense online echo chamber that places value in endlessly supplying the tech sector with unfettered resource extraction, tax cutbacks, off the record contracts etc. These takes are only useful to listen to insofar as they demonstrate the present, ghoulish visions of the crypto / nrx / whatever-acc crowds in tech. It's always the same posturing towards libertarian “freedom” & self-sovereignty, meanwhile both big tech & meager start-ups would jump at any chance of a deal with the security state. They’re looking for their cut of the pie, not actual social reinvestment or “human potential projects” or whatever shit they have to say to get their foot in the door.
I like him
nah tho but ok fine
You're telling me his art is just showing off things he bought?
Fr this art shit Josh is into is fucking cringe
Love Amber, great to see her on here! I really recommend reading her book Dirtbag, it made a big impression on me
Oh damn his "futuristic technopolitics" is all about deregulation and lowering taxes thats so crazy
Trauma can (and often does) have political causes or contributing factors but is individually instantiated. We can treat it as a medical/psychological issue without dismissing the concept entirely, or abandon our commitment to re-politicizing the issue.
I love JJ to death but my mans has not spoken at length to a genuine leftist in his life😂😂
citarella acts in an unsettlingly effeminate way.. whats up with that
it doesnt come off as something normal as being gay. it seems like some sort of theater kid illness
16:50 - Here's one for you: Mondragon Corporation
if taxes can be dodged then why do we bother paying them at all
This will be a tough act to follow! Perhaps you should interview Adolf Hitler next?
Turned this off as soon as he started defending not taxing wealth
The humanoid robot thing is such a fake concern. Boston Dynamics does that stuff for the same reasons car companies make concept cars or F1 teams. Assembly lines aren’t fully autonomous just because they haven’t made an electronic human yet
