Hello. Thanks for your video's. As a matter of interest just wondering why you clean off all the roots when repotting. I thought the less you mess around with the roots the better.
My anthuriums have all been in no drainage and the salts have been building up in the substrate which affects the roots - I rinse them to rinse any build up off of them 💜

@@PlantedinPlatinum You’re very welcome ☺️ Would you be willing to make a video on how and when you should use Physan 20? I got some for my plants but I’m honestly intimidated by it. I saw one TH-cam video saying to be careful when using it because it can melt the roots. I have some Alocasia, Anthurium and some Philodendrons I want to use it on but I can’t find any info on using on those specific plants.

Happy Friday ❤ such beautiful plants!! I just got a bunch of new anthurium seedlings (and some gracile berries as a freebie!) from NorthernPlantRoom!!! and I'm SO excited because they should all end up being various levels of dark once they mature ❤ I haven't decided yet if I'll transfer them to semi-hydro or a chunky mix once they're sturdy enough to move from moss 😊 if you have any tips for seedlings and seeds, or have talked about it before, I'd appreciated any wisdom you can bestow 😂😂 Pumped to watch anthurium content, since I'm definitely in my anthurium era 😂🖤🪴
Happy Friday Shelby 💚🪴 Ooo that’s so exciting!! My tips for you is to keep them in moss until they are rootbound (roots to the bottom of the cup and on the sides) and than upsize them to moss again and wait for them to become rootbound. Than you can pot into whatever mix you like! I pot in semi hydro but that’s just me 😂 Just make sure that they have a good root system before you put them into ambient. I also like to keep my seeds/seedlings in a closed container to keep the humidity up until I repot them into their final substrate 🤍 There’s so many different ways to grow plants though but that’s the way I do it! I can’t wait to see them on your IG 😍 I’m glad you’re here for the anthurium content! I plan on making lots more 🤗 Have a good weekend girlie 😘

Hi what is ace pocks?
Ace pox are the yellow spots that you see come up on Ace of Spades pure form and hybrids. No one knows where it came from and it’s very hard to get rid of 😂 It’s non contagious to your other plants though and is just really annoying if it happens to your plant 😅

My Micholitziana, Cuprea and Green Shield are popping off right now! They are living their best Alocasia lives and THRIVING. My Frydek is sizing up nicely as well. My Jacklyn is struggling a bit. I repotted her into pon and I think she went into shock. Hopefully she snaps out of it because she’s one of my favorites.

Omg! I miss my Azlanii so much! 😭😭 My cat knocked it off of the window sill that it was sitting on and it just died! I thought I’d be able to rehab it, but it gave up on life. 😢

How come you pull off the secondary roots? Is that so they don’t rot in water? That root system was huge on the Cuprea.
@@LeafyConversations yeah they tend to rot on me if I move them straight from my aroid mix to pon. I always remove the secondary roots, chop the main roots back and water root a bit before I make the transition 💖
The Azlani I just love so much, but after about 2 weeks of being delivered it just shriveled up and died on me. It was the first time that has happened to me.

I found a reptile shop that sells a big bag of tree Fern for about 90 bucks. My best root development seems to be when I prop in straight perlite 😂 😢
@@wootlesswocks is it the 10 litre bag? It’s $75-$80 on Amazon and you get free shipping with prime but I know that Northern Gecko sells the 40 litre bag as well :) Straight perlite is amazing for rooting!! 💖🤍

My most difficult Alocasia is the Sabrina so far, it just doesn’t hold leaves no matter how bright or high the feed- it’s been better in my cabinet lately though 🤞. My easiest and probably most loved is my pink dragon, it’s at the size where it’s massive and getting silvery now. I’m obsessed.

I took my A. Azalanii out of the cabinet and she melted. Returned it to see if the 4 leaves come back. 😢 The A. Regal Shield corms grew very fast in flugal.

My Azalanii started doing better once I moved it to my cabinet (~80% humidity)- although I think it just liked the consistent moisture and lower light that my cabinet gives. Mine lives in soil with her babies, I gave some extra babies to my sisters too and those are doing well in ambient conditions (in pon).

Hi Natasha! I also have zero luck with Azlanii and I'm done with her. Here in Europe (Poland to be exact) they are rather cheap, even large specimen and so so beautiful. So I tried and I tried and she always croaked on me. But your Purple Cloak looks amazing! Hugs from Poland!
