Elden Ring: My First Impressions
Only a never ending game like Elden Ring could ever call for first impressions only after beating the game. This gargantuan game was a predominant reason why uploads have slowed down a bit. It's not an exaggeration with just how huge and long this game is and even after finishing it there's still got to be 10s of 100s of hours of content for me to try. Either way, the game is done, and it is only after beating the game when I felt I was ready to provide again, only first impressions.

Tunic: Carrying the Torch that Zelda Left Behind

*MAJOR SPOILERS* *VIEW AT YOUR OWN RISK* Out of all the different types of video game experiences, the one of the original Zelda has always fascinated me. The Legend of Zelda is a game that I never had much interest in playing growing up, simply from the dated nature of it nowadays. Why I Don't Like Twilight Princess HD

Probably going to be my most divisive video, but one I wanted to make anyway. Twilight Princess is a game I hold pretty dear to me. The HD version for Wii U is a fine enough version. I agree with him. No matter which platform you'll play as long as the game is accessible and playable, then I don't see any problem. Although playing a game on a console can give you a nostalgic/satisfying experience; emulators are also good if you're not one for collecting consoles or doesn't have the access to the said console.

I grew up with the Wii version and playing the HD version is weird. Like I think that the action is fine but like it seems so... Rushed. Like its just upscaled and bloom was added. I like it, but I also own the GameCube version and THAT version I beat.

Short conclusion. Emulators are incredible for playing extint games and enhancing a game to create the best way to play possible, plus they are way more acesable, but stay legal kids. And the original consolesare like a rlic of the past, can be nostalgic or just the best way to play, plus nothing hits like playing ya childhood game on the original hardware

Some people see TP as a rehash of OoT, but for me, it's closer to "Twilight Princess is to Ocarina as Ocarina is to LTTP." Yeah sure, it plays out in a similar way, but it's got a far more involved story, a more entertaining companion, fancier dungeons, bigger bosses, cooler items with more features, and "interludes" that feel like epic setpiece moments instead of uneventful diversions. ...Well, for the most part anyway. I mean in OoT, you walk to a nearby cave, pick up some blue fire in a bottle, thaw out a single Zora, and later hear that "don't worry bro the other ones'll like... thaw out later." In Twilight Princess, you trek back to death mountain, teleport a giant pillar of freshly erupted lava rock through a sky portal, drop it in, and watch an entire frozen river roar back to life and cascade down the cliff. That's what the identity of this game is to me. Zelda Plus Ultra.

Collect consoles and pickup flash carts or ODE’s. official games on official hardware. No clutter and only expensive upfront but not expensive at all compared to cost of games. Emulation just isn’t the same as playing with the original hardware, it’s a whole vibe.

Best video I saw on YT about the analog sticks. All other I watched it's so shallow, just "impressions", no real tests. I have this 8bitdo hall effect stick and I love it. It's the best one GCN style I ever bought it, and I bought it more than 5 times through the years. About the RalphNet adapter, as far as I know, he don't do it anymore, and even if that's untrue, the GCN controller still missing buttons, so it's not really a valid option for me. I have a Retro Fighter 64 controller too, but I don't like it too much.

My biggest enemy with emulators is the input latency. Even with the right settings, plenty of emulators I've used that aren't RetroArch have enough input lag to make me want to stop playing (usually close to quarter-second). I really hope the people behind those emulators keep working to minimize latency.

The screen crunch ruins the game for me. I can't deal. Not being able to see all the beautiful set design (especially on Yoshi's Island) and having your character so large on the screen... yuck. SMB3 on Advance is worth it, and I can deal with SMB2 because of the enhancements but the others are not worth the loss.

I like the past reflection of you going, "I was an idiot for not noticing this." That's what i do when i think about the time i first played Link to the Past. I was born in the early 2000s, and later on, i played it on the SNES at my grandmas house. For one, i couldn't get the controls down forever. Having A be B and B be A really threw me off. Also, i was just really bad at the gameplay. I legit had to use the previous save file to get past the castle. Then it took me like 12 weekends of staying at my grandma's house to beat the first dungeon. After that, I was trying to figure out what to do next. Didn't help that my map on the cartridge didn't work, so i was looking at the pendants on a green screen. Then i finally realized i could just look up a guide for the game online. Kinda ruined some things, but I found my fair share of secrets on my own. But hoenslty, there are some things in older games where i just go, "How the hell was i supposed to figure that out?"(i.e., random generic blocks to destroy in NES Zelda or Metorid for upgrades). I was able to redeem myself by playing through Metorid Prime with no guides. Though granted, i was 20 when i did that. Tunic definitely sounds like a fun game to go through. Slowly with pen and paper nearby. Don't worry, I'll probably forget all the screts you talked about in this video. So i should go in mostly blind

It honestly seems like Zelda Twilight Princess was the last game that allowed the player to achieve heroic feats in many ways through generosity, helpfulness, saving the helpless, and vanquishing evil. There is also a lot of esoteric knowledge in the game with the mirror, the twilight realm, and the divine beast prophecy. The mirror points toward the obsidian mirror. The twilight realm points towards a dark realm from many cultures. The divine beast prophecy points toward the white tiger prophecy in which the dark realm feared the white tiger because the tiger meant wrathful righteousness and heroism. There are so many hidden details and secrets in Zelda Twilight Princess that it is simply amazing.

My introduction to Zelda was that my mom used to play A Link to the Past, and Ocarina of Time. She introduced it to dad and they played Majoras Mask, and OoT before I was born. They played it when I was a baby, and in 2006 when Twilight princess was released, I remember watching them play through it and witness their love for it. I picked it up myself a few years later, since I was so scared to play it alone (I was 6/7). It was so much fun, and I sort of took over their passion when they both grew too ill to play it. Then Skyward Sword came around, and I loved that one too. looking back, I can't truly decide which I like the most. I've managed to play all the games by now, and I still stand between TP or SS. They're the ones I've played the most, and both are great in their own way, and since I grew up with motion controls, I didn't really struggle with the whole wave to swing sword like my parents did. If I had to choose, I believe that TP is the peak <3

I abandoned consoles 100% in 2017 and switched to PC gaming because I was just tired of buying 2 or even 3 consoles every 5 years. That and well to avoid this 2:14, yikes. Now I just have one PC for gaming (both modern and retro through emulation) hooked up to my big screen. With Sony and MS releasing many of their titles on PC nowadays, I'm not missing much outside Nintendo and the only game I would sorely miss with them if they ever release a new one is Punchout. Overall, I'm very happy with my decision with no regrets.

Since I didn't hear you mention it, did you know that Twilight Princess actually DID have a magic meter that was scrapped super late in development? It's why the magic armor runs on rupees instead. There's a screenshot on the back of the Gamecube edition's box (I think) with a meter under Link's hearts, and there's a couple spots in the game where you can coerce a yellow Chuchu and a blue Chuchu to fuse into a green Chuchu, which drops a green Chu jelly that does absolutely nothing when consumed.

37:20 Worth noting, but Ganondorf had still murdered the Great Deku Tree, was forcibly starving the Gorons, and had infected Jabu Jabu with Barinade by the time Link meets Zelda in OoT, so just revealing those atrocities would have been enough to get him sentenced to death.
