The Five Reasons that Dystopian Fiction Always Sells
มุมมอง 44K21 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Movies, TV shows, games, and books that depict a hellish future of either pure totalitarianism or total anarchy have always sold well. What is it about these stories that make them so popular? Why do we love to explore these pessimistic ideas in fiction? More importantly, what is their relationship to real life? Also, check our book review of "This Perfect Day" on the T.Rex Talk podcast over on...

Always-Listening Devices and the Erosion of Privacy
มุมมอง 100K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
As voice recognition, AI tools, and computers in general get faster and more powerful, there is an opportunity for individuals to have more control over these tools... Or less. The opportunities for use and misuse are both very tempting, and the consequences will be severe. www.wired.com/story/iflytek-china-ai-giant-voice-chatting-surveillance/
Gathering Intelligence with Inexpensive Optics
มุมมอง 185Kหลายเดือนก่อน
In all of our past conversations about drones and radios, we've been circling the topic of gathering and communicating information. There are a lot of was to do observation with different optical devices, and here are a few real world tests of lenses and scopes for collecting data. Let us know in the comments what kinds of tests you want us to do at T.Rex Labs, and what other observational devi...
1500 Mile Targeted Contact with HF Radio
มุมมอง 86Kหลายเดือนก่อน
It's easy to use handheld radio to talk over short distances, but what about hundreds or thousands of miles? Are the HF radio bands only for random contacts with ham hobbyists, or can we call specific people directly? We team up with TheTechPrepper and KM4ACK for a simulated emergency contact based on a pre-made comms plan, and test the limits of our skill and equipment.

WOW...I did not know.
This is where libertarianism falls apart.
Isaac really did his homework, as evidenced by the PvP clip from DayZ.
Both of the devices glow they just glow different colors. Id say diversifying is the strength in this case. You already have your phone on you 24 7 so if you can use an offline device for other taks even if some of that data does get out it goes to different places. If its not all centralized to one location its harder to find as much info on you. Also looking at a devices circuit board and finding out what each chip does can tell you if it has wireless capabilities.
Next generation of duty pistols will be to have no pistol at all...
TREX CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD!!
This is interesting because I work in shipping at my job
An Autostore System could help you a lot...
Would be nice to see how the Nikon P1000 compares, as this seems pretty cost-effective.
This is a pretty awesome setup and a great demonstration of the multiple facets of the Ham radio capabilities and limitations. JS8Call would definitely be my go-to for EMCOMMS.
Excellent work guys!! ❤
I have to say, Nora is not only Hot, but a Hot asset to your company. she is setting an example of great worth ethics, for all Women employee's. if only, all women, has similar work ethics, as she does! I will also say this as a suggestion @TREXARMS should do a blem category/option, but at prices that us poors can afford, to buy top Tier gear from TREX ARMS, or possibly a low budget line of products, just for poos, and I would bet, that it sales out, faster than standard priced TREX products.
HF requires significantly more flexibility than point to point VHF/UHF modes. Don't be afraid to play with the height of the antenna's take-off angle and the wattage of the signal. Excellent demonstration of the commo plan and time-tables for windows! The military uses ALE (*Automatic Link Establishment) radios now which help find the best freq. and strength digitally. I do not understand why Amateur radio has so much trouble making useable "manpack" models with the popularity of SOTA and other mobile hobbies.
The fighting hand gun is a long gun.
If it has a camera it's watching, If it has a microphone it's listening, And if you're reading this YOU ARE THE RESISTANCE.
Why use drones when they can just use there satalites
I know you probably won't read this and even more so don't care. That said I want to like these videos but there seems to be a lot of dialogue that is explaining or talking about something that has nothing to do with anything related to the subject I end up skipping around trying to get to the meat of the subject get frustrated and figure I can just take a swag at it and abandon the video all together
It is a bloody business. Let me say this for your human conscience if you have any. For every person killed or harmed by your arsenals and ammunition you get a share of the sins committed by the buyers and would be brought to account by the creator.
Would pulling the sim in a "cheapo" cell phone make it more useable and secure?
action heroes are obviously popular generally, but my favorite subset is when a professional bad ass is put in a setting fighting alongside/against regular people. SHTF fiction is usually the best place for that like Robert Hawkins in Jericho or the SF guys in Black Autumn or Going Home books.
I love the message at the end, get out there and make cool shit. A basic 3d printer is like 100 bucks and you can go a long way towards learning how to make and prototype things with just that.
That whiteboard at the 4:00 minute mark would have Mother Jones in fits. Keep your rifle by your side…
A deeply appreciated Easter egg for fans and haters alike.
I tried ordering an optic three times on three different days. It never went through. I called my bank and everything was good there. Then I tried reaching out to T.rex arms in two separate emails. Never heard back. This was a big letdown from a channel I really respect and appreciate.
Please change claw to a better design i would love a tiny bit more adjustment for a deep concealment option
If trex actually developed and produced this new handgun, we would all buy it.
Ordered from the your short arm company several times and everything shipped super fast. For such a small company you're easily on the level of Brownell's or Midway. Thank you.
I always wondered how Trex shipped so fast. I am sure it involves a whole team, but seeing Norah's knowledge and attitude, I am sure with her management, the fulfillment department runs smoothly. It is good to know who to thank when I see that shipping notice, the same day as ordering.
IT IS THE CONTROLLER! All these brands come out with great tech but give a $h!t control this is where DJI dominates the market they have 2 outstanding controllers not just this “hook up your cell phone or beacon crap. Why should you buy a 3rd party “gaming controller” to have superior control of your drone? Why aren’t these drone companies smart enough to figure that out?

Here is an example of technology that existed 10+ years ago. Take any iPhone or Android device made in the last 10+ years. Whether it appears to be on or off; the device can entirely audio monitor a 20x20 room - and anything in it. Doesn’t matter how crowded the room gets or how loud it gets - or the opposite. The device can pick up and filer out something of just 5 to 10 decibels. Then add in WiFi. One can WiFi map any room where the device is located. Using electronic signal reflection, it can live map most of a residence, most of any business or school, and then some. There are all kinds of electronic reflected maps of most everywhere you have ever been within the last ten years - accurate to a scale of between six and nine millimeters. Then add in how many millions upon millions use smartwatches. About voice recognition; there’s already voice recognition and extensive audio files of almost every single adult - worldwide.
Impressive!!!

More Norah
I would love to work for Trex arms, seems like a really great place to work.
When are we talking the real discussion to alt tech platforms?
What about iTAK?
I really have to hand it to T. Rex as a company and especially the shipping department. It seems to be an underappreciated aspect of running a business in the "modern era" where everybody's buying things online from thousands of miles away. I have recently placed a plethora of orders from you guys and the shipping has always been lightning fast and even when I wanted to exchange something I purchased in error. Stellar company, and stellar employees. Keep up the good work guys.
This video is a prime example of why I buy my gear here. T-Rex is well run and organized by people who care. Thank you, T-Rex
did anyone here any back ground noise
Being the shipping/receiving guy for 2 different companies for 18.5 years I have the utmost respect for Norah. Funny I just looked at your jobs listing today. I would apply, to bad I'm 69 years old. However I still do a 40 hour work week as THE shipping/receiving dept.
Why Samsung phones if you cant DeGoogle them?
Norah is smart, passionate, dedicated & beautiful. Thank you for showing the people that make TRex cycle.
👍👍
Pulling on the brass cartridge is a horrible method of manipulating the cartridges because cheap ammo WILL be pulled apart separating the case from the round. This has been demonstrated with the boberg
I'm eyeing a really inexpensive Slovakian rotary barrel pistol right now and I'm glad to see this mechanism discussed. I've been told that said gun (in duty-sized version) has accuracy on par with fixed barrel designs which many people choose for sports purposes, so while this specific aspect is not exactly on my priority list it's nice to have.
Bill Nye the Junk Science guy is not to be taken seriously. I was pushed towards engineering because I was good at science & math. Btw it's 93 million miles to the sun. A little closer or a little farther away and life as we know it would cease to exist. Bill Nye pushes a narrative of science that has no creator and follows some big guesses and more faith that all of what they are saying is true (evolution is in itself it's own religion because you need to have a lot of faith that one species can become another). Nye was clocked by Ken Ham from Answers in Genesis. Btw most of the pillars of modern science: Newton, Kepler, Wren, and others were Christians. Since Christians have been run out of Science fields a lot of the discoveries have dried up. Should look up Nathaniel Jeanson and check out his work.
I love the transparency.
Very impressive Company🇺🇸🎉😎
Hate to break it to you but your ship times are slower than 80% of online retailers
Great video, just bought the raptor 2.0 and received it within 2 days great stuff
