IMO the best way to play is either on the 3ds, or the Nintendo switch online expansion pack they have for n64. If u want classic n64 look or just don’t have a 3ds then I do recommend Nintendo switch online. Or if your just broke then emulators, specifically ones on pc (or on the delta app for App Store work too if u connect controller) are great, free options. Pc allows for more customization in your emulation while mobile is a bit more streamlined especially on iOS. Hope this helps!

It's a shame Ship of Harkinian doesn't support the NTSC ROMs at the moment. Hopefully one of these days, I can play the native OoT PC port using the ROM I got legitimately through the Wii U Virtual Console release.

If someone could take Nerrel's MM texture pack and bring the relevant assets over to the OOT port then I think we'd really have the definitive version of the game. The textures that are exclusive to OOT would have to be remade from scratch but most of the work would pretty much already be done.

I hope someone ports Majora's Mask to GameCube when the decomp is finalized. I was hoping we'd get Mario 64 and improved version of Ocarina of Time, but those never happened. I think the GameCube deserves an actually good version of this game.

They ruined the bridge to Ganon's castle by changing it from Bifröst to some lame bridge.

We're so close to getting the PC port, I think I'll wait until it releases and supports visual mods before playing. Ocarina of Time looks great via Ship of Harkinian and mods

Number 10 sums up my experience with the game. I started with the wii u version which I didnt like when I was young. I later bought the 3ds version and finished the game that way

Guys you're either blind or lying to yourself. Even with the best mods, the 3DS remaster still has better visual than PC port. The 3DS doesn't only have remade 3D items and characters, they remade almost everything like the terrain, building, etc. they made 3D version off some location that used pre rendered backgrounds like PS1 Final Fantasy games (look at 7:40 ), they added props everywhere (lot of grass blades, rocks, etc.), they reworked the lighting, etc. Mods can only change how some old stuff look but it can't add stuff or change the whole game code/engine.

problem with the Ship of Harkinian though is that you gotta access an OTR file thing and as far as I know OTR is only accessible in Linux

The one thing I've realized is that Grezzo had taken some creative liberties when remaking some of the assets of Ocarina of Time for the remake, most notably in Hyrule Castle Town. As a purist myself, I would have tried to match the look and architecture straight down to the "T", but obviously make it look better than in the original game. Hopefully, someone does a fan remake that tries harder in matching the intentional style of the game, much like how the Render96 Project does with Super Mario 64. Glorious demonstration, nonetheless!!!👍👍👍

Anybody ever had trouble with the Collector’s Edition on GameCube crashing every 20 mins? I played it when I was a kid and it was seamless, played great. Now my copy drops to 8fps when there more than 3 enemies on screen and randomly crashes. It’s really frustrating me.

Man, usually these lists leave me feeling like they weren't thorough enough. This video was well done, I felt like I pretty much completely agreed with everything you said, and you also managed to be thorough without taking a ton of your time to nail down every nitty-gritty detail of each version. Just the main pros, main cons, your experience, and moved on. Well done.
