A year since the end of Class 68's on TransPennine - a look back.
Turn up the volume, sit back, and watch 10 minutes of Class 68 on the TransPennine. I can hardly believe it's been a year since the final Class 68 ran on TransPennine services on December 9, 2023. Here's my anniversary look back in photographs and video.
It's also been exactly a year since I last uploaded a video. Keep an eye out, I'm planning a new series of railway photography videos in the new year.

Four-Season Railway Photography Challenge
มุมมอง 1.4Kปีที่แล้ว
For my 2023 railway photography project I aimed to seamlessly blend all four seasons into a single, captivating railway photograph. Success in this endeavour hinged on finding the railway location that I could revisit in each season while maintaining an identical composition. Consistency was key to achieving success, with all photographs captured at 24mm from a fixed location that I could easil...

Where's a Class 124 when you need it? I do find the title a bit misleading, though. I was thinking that this would be a documentary discussing how things have changed over the year since Class 68 operations ended.

I think that Chiltern Railways are to inherit the Class 68 and Mk5 carriages. But why is Transpennine Express not using the Nova 3 stocks anymore. Despite they be keeping the Class 185, Class 802 Nova 1 and Class 397 Nova 2.

Lovely sound there. Personally I would have used the Mk5's with some repurposed Class 60's rebuilt for passenger work and 95mph workings. Metra in West Chicago did something similar with the EMD SD70MAC's and made them into 95mph SD70MACH locomotives with HEP to power the passenger cars. Maybe the repurposed Class 60's I would have used would be a Class 62 or a Class 63. Technically a new loco of the Euro 4001 inside a Class 60 shell with everything from the cab interiors, layout and AC tractions being new and I would used the Cummins QSK95 power packs for good measure too. Great video as always mate. I have subbed.
