I am pleased to have found your videos, they are very informative and a pleasure to watch. I am just getting into railway photography, your videos are very inspirational.
I have watched this video before and now having just returned from Scotland, brought back my memories of taking photos at Blair Atholl station. It is an amazing place to be and great for photography with the mountains, the light, the signal box and the good old semaphore signal. Just love watching your videos
More stunning photos, love the colours! You certainly enjoy the golden hour, for a long time I refused to even get my camera out unless the sun was low in the sky! Wonderful stuff 😀
Many thanks, I much prefer the golden hour, but I do gravitate to the dusk rather than dawn, I've actually very few photos of dawn, probably because I find it so difficult to get out of bed.
Wow, some wonderful compositions. Great tip at the end of the video where you took two photos, one at a high ISO as the train passes and then a second after it has passed at normal ISO speed.
I've only just come across your excellent videos but pleased I have. Whilst I'm a point and press railway photographer I appreciate your photo knowledge. Look forward to more videos.
Thanks again for another brilliant piece of filming. Some great photo opportunities all around the highlands. Thanks for sharing always looking out for a new video. Happy new year and thank you
Now if I did not know better did the good lady help you with the video? Excellent as always we stayed at the Blair Atholl Palace but did not tour the distillery next door.
Oh, yes, the good lady did quite a bit of the additional footage, she'll be wanting credit before long. I think we'll be back to Blair Atholl, a couple of days wasn't long enough.
@@AndrewShenton Beautiful countryside up there well worth another visit, surely she won't want the credit ! although is the good lady a good photographer like you?
Something very special about the time just before during and just after the dawning of the day, especially in that ancient part of the world.great shots as always Andrew!☺️
Happy New Year Andrew. Lovely film and reckon you nailed the Tesco 66. Was that a merged image as the shutter speed looks good to me! Always love night/twilight photography.
Thanks Andy, the Tesco 66 was a single shot, fortunately I didn't need to merge that one, with it being head on, the shutter speed can be lower, not as much motion blur as if the subject is side on, so I got away with it - just.
Great shots there Andrew, love the footage from the bridge with the sunrise. I've got a trip planned to Glasgow in February for a change of photographic scenery
Enjoyed the video thank you and took note of the tip about taking two images to merge in Photoshop of nighttime shots. Just wondered though whether you can get a good enough alignment between the images if shooting them handheld; I guess you can!
Many thanks, Chris, when photographing hand held, I frame up a little wider to allow for any mis alignment between shots - the alignment is an automated process in Photoshop and it usefully does a good job, unless the two shots a miles out.
Thanks for bringing a little piece of Scottish soul to German trainspotters, what a great impression, thanks a lot👍👍😊😊😊😊
My pleasure, its such a lovely part of the world to visit, I'd love to revisit soon.
Thank you for getting out of bed so early, it’s horrible! Pulitzer Prize nomination
Many thanks, Mark, getting up early when i'm supposed to be on holiday - I must be mad.

Many thanks Geoff, yes a magical place and I’d love to return and do a bit more exploring up on the Highland Main Line.
I am from Kolkata, india, and love to see this kind of signal. This old technology is Beautyful.
Yes I agree, it is disappearing fast though.

Thanks John, I don't envy you of that, mornings aren't my thing really!
Something very special about the time just before during and just after the dawning of the day, especially in that ancient part of the world.great shots as always Andrew!☺️
Many thanks, I should make more of an effort, I'm more of a dusk photographer - just because I find it so difficult to get out of bed!

Many thanks, yes, that was a fabulous dawn break - enjoy your trip to Glasgow!
Is there double line or single?
At this location the line goes from single to double line.
Happy New Year Andrew! Again some amazing shots, a professional at work at all hours of the day. Keep the videos coming 👍🏻

@@AndrewShenton thanks Andrew; that’s useful to know; I’d always assumed you needed a tripod👍🏻
