TWO WEEKS hiking SOLO through the DESERT | 230km Larapinta Trail 2021 | Extended Video
14 days spent hiking solo along the 223km Larapinta Trail in Northern Territory Australia. Trek Support was provided by Larapinta Trail Trek support using 3 food drops and a bus transfer at the end. The trail was hiked End to End walking from East to West along the West MacDonnell Ranges.

    You should get one of those outdoor shower tents and just attach it to the side of your van. The tent just drops down and you can either use a bucket with the hose or a solar shower bag??

      I have an anytime fitness gym membership these days which has proven very useful for hot showers while traveling Australia!

      I'd say this is actually a fairly beginner friendly hike. The water tanks are always full and the shelters are good. Plus you can be supported making the food carry nice and reasonable. Just get some fitness training and basic map reading/camping skills.

      I didn't! Water tanks are all kept full with town water. Always good to carry some though. I use a Sawyer Squeeze as my water filter.

    Its so weird. Just discovered your channel. I was supposed to hike the PCT in 2018. I also had a March permit then my mum got sick. 2 years ago I also did a van build, only I have a shower and toilet as im old, and im Aussie. If you get up QLD way give me a hoy.

    I bought an arctic bag because I sleep cold. Bit heavier but worth it. I use both Thermarest pads to give me an RV of 6.4. Love to know what kind of bag you ordered in Oz. I haven't found anything.

    I use sunscreen sachets. Very light. Moisturiser I used All The time, but then I'm alot older than you. Id look like a prune without it.

    I think as an international hiker there is much more pressure to finish. Logistically its so much more work just to get in the country. Makes us strive harder.

    Did you have to use their food for the food drops or can you purchase from else where and bring with you. Also can you put anything else in the containers.

      You can put anything you like in them! I put my own food in. Just remember to book and collection after of you are leaving things you want back along the way while you are out there (items you haven’t rushed so far etc)

    LOVE IT! Love your tenacity! I’ve wanting to learn how to crochet. I think I’ll just have to take the plunge and sign up for a class. On a side note, me and my family may be in Ashland, OR in mid-July. I’m hoping to get a couple days in hiking the PCT near Ashland. In 2019, I was able to trail angel the last time we were there.

      Thankyou!!! It was such an incredible trail! Something I couldn’t capture was just how culturally sacred a lot of the sites felt, which was also why I didn’t film at some of the water holes / camps. Powerful stuff. But I agree - attitude is everything, I was so in love :)

    get yourself a 12v laptop charger it's more efficient than converting 12v into 230v than back the 12volt?
