What is the best orientation for printing these -- standing upright with a brim/raft, or flat (in the case of the square frame)? I'm using Bambu Labs and X1C if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance!

Hey! I was able to get one print off perfect but now everytime I try to use lithophane maker and "create STL" I download a zip file with only a txt file in it. I've tried 3 different browsers and using both PNG and JPEG files for the image. Anyone have any advice?

Yep, I had my stock extruder crack right away... not the best intro into 3D printing for a noob, but I ended up replacing it with a Sherpa Mini direct drive extruder and have had bliss since then.

I've been working on a similar project on my end, but using a resin printer. And using blender. massive learning experience but crazy cool. Still working on the dimensions, nice to see other new projects on this. Looking for other resin settings though :) thumbs up for your video on the project!!!!

Another thing to watch out for in the future is wear on the gear that connects to the stepper motor right there. It is made of brass and the teeth will wear out after some time.

ya there are facebook groups that would have told you the arm breaking is a common issue with creality and other cheap printers we also would have warned you not to waste your money on the metal version of a POS extruder and to buy something like a BMG dual drive clone but at least you got yours working

for your demo you showed the flip option in lithomaker but did not use it? isn't the result upside down for an ornament?

Can you print it to the inside!? In that case it is a regular smooth white ornament till you turn on the light!

yeah this is a pretty common issue with plastic extruder parts, well known and well talked about in essentially every ender 3 community.

This is the first thing to break on every single ender, it is highly recommended to swap to a metal extruder on these machines

For me it was the extruder gear Being worn down beyond use.. It was basically just rubbing against the filament

I just installed a BMG clone it is great. dual drive with 3-1 ratio, not a great deal more than the one you bought.

This is a know common issue with ender 3's. One of the first things google research will tell you to replace. People are definitely talking about this, but I'm glad you got it fixed.

6minutes of explanation just to say "hey guys, that plastic extruder arm on your stock ender will break after a couple of weeks"? "the fix nobody is talking about" is not only a totally nondescriptive clickbait title, it's also not true. Any subreddit or facebook group about Ender printers is FILLED with people reminding you that these plastic arms constantly break, often in invisible spots, and that you should replace them...

My prints are all over the place sometimes comes out nice but other times are horrible. I did installed the same exact replacement but still getting bad prints. I recalibrated the E steps after the new extruder assembly arm but didn't change much I feel like throwing this ender 3 pro out of my 4 floor window. Anyways thanks for video

Very common problem

just use a double gear extruder and you will never have this problem. These are simply bad extruders.
