Hello! Welcome to our channel😊. We are a couple of frugal “Old Schoolers” who love to explore the great outdoors. Crabbing and Fishing New Jersey - Last Day of Summer 2024
It’s the last day of summer☹️.Took another long drive down South Jersey. High tide at 12:30 pm. Caught 7 crabs in the incoming tide. Not a lot of luck with fishing , just 1 perch. Brunch in the water😄. Enjoy the video🥰!

Cloudy day with a bit of rain. Went to the edge of Osborn island and tried fishing in the Great Bay . Caught 4 big spots and then tried crabbing in the marsh. High tide! No waders, no problem. Tried crabbing at the heels of the storm Debby. Expected a lot of rain but it turned out sunny. The wind was gusty at times and the river was too wavy. Ended up with 17 keepers. Cooked noodles for lunch with ham and turkey sandwich. Enjoy the video🥰! #crabbing #newjersey

Made the long drive down South Jersey and decided to try crabbing at Wildwood. We went to a tiny park called West Wildwood Park. Lots of small crabs and pregnant females. Rainy day in July. We went crabbing in an old marina in Bayville. Unable to cook lunch because the rain kept pouring. Another good day and ended up with 27 crabs and 4 spots. Dinner was yum! Enjoy the video🥰 #crabbing #fishing

Late June and decided to visit the little pier at Windward Beach Park. Slow day for this time of the year. Had DD and corn for breakfast. Lunch: pork chop, snow peas and mushroom plus white rice. Sunny sunny day, ended up with only 13 keepers. Enjoy the video🥰 #crabbing #NewJersey

Hot Summer day! But crabbing was not as good. Went to Parkertown Docks at Little Egg Harbor for the first time. We got there early and the bugs were waiting😀. Beautiful scenery and lots of birds. Love your vids! They have inspired me to go crabbing after almost 20yrs! I typically go to Turkey Point early in the morning, so I'm usually the only one on the bridge. This is something I used to do as a kid, with my parents. They're both long gone, but crabbing is something I think I'm going to do every year. Thank you 😊

Hey my wonderful couple, Dan here. Please tell me you're going to crab into October....I know I will. Also I keep wondering how you take the videos of the car coming towards you and when you take both of you together.. Is there a third person or a tripod?? I'm dying to Know lol great video 👍
@@magazineman3910 It’s our old reliable tripod😊. Sometimes our daughter comes along and she automatically becomes the camera girl. We’ll still try crabbing and fishing in October, hopefully it won’t get too cold.
Nice catch on the crabs. Lucky you went on the 21st (Saturday). Sunday was also a nice day, but the storm surge plus full moon caused a lot of local flooding and rough water. Although, Saturday was the last day of summer. Local summer should still be in the swing! Hope you still have clear skies and good crabbing!
@@MsMrBigglesworthThe crabs have been fat this time of the season. Not a lot but we’re still catching them🦀Yes, until the water turns super cold, we’ll continue crabbing and fishing. We love this cool fall weather, keeps those bugs away.

@@thandastones888 thanks for the reply. What type of fish are those that your catching, do they have small bones that you have to be careful about swallowing and do they taste good?
@@Vin3Man They taste pretty good🐟. They’re not too bony, just the usual bone segments protecting it’s abdominal area. This is called a White Perch.
That was a nice size perch. Haven’t seen one that big in a while.

@@MichaelColey-h7l We check for high tides usually and base our time on that. But ideally we love to start really early between 6:00am to 7:00am. In the peak of Summer, that noontime sun is unforgiving😊.

@@slingshotcrabbing 😆We’ve never tried Old Bay. This spot gets really underwater on high tide. Tricky, needs to plan around the tides. It would be interesting to crab here in July🦀. Good luck on your trip! It’s going to be a beautiful Day!

@@Echi1d 😊No, not really. But that’s a good idea, just to see the trend if numbers are going up or down per season. We had one time more than a hundred crabs in one day at Brick. This year our best day was at 55 crabs in Island Heights. Thank you! Have a great Sunday🥰!

Beautiful day, I miss that Jersey morning foggy wetlands, then you go ahead and fried up those croakers almost brought me to tears, mom used to fry them up after I came back from the inlet, served with warm rice and fresh steam crabs too. During hide tide, thsoe snappers come in and easy to catch with 1/2 oz cast masters, those are tasty too pan fried. Grilled eels are delicious too, I hope you get a chance to get one. A live killie on the bottom is what catch them. Thanks for showing us your day, reminds me of my days there.

Crabbing has really slowed down. Crabbed at Lavallette yesterday. Only caught 6 keepers. Four “big boys”. And two smaller keepers.
@@JohnKorek Yeah, for the past 3 weeks we hardly get keepers anymore. The Giants 0-2 😭😭😭!!!

You folks have been hot on spot/ croaker, very cool. Ever try Fishbites scented baits?
@@wayned5872 Yes😊! We read that around this time, Absecon and Mullica river has lots of spots and croakers. Some local bait shops have recommended that too, we’ll probably try it one day.
@thandastones888 the mullica gets loaded with spot/ croaker check around chestnut neck area crabs should be there also, I think crabbing is gona be so-so this weekend coming with this predicted tropical depression off of the Carolinas moving north

@@hnczgychen3109 This place us actually public and those picnic tables are for Public use. However when the restaurant beside it opens around 12:00 pm, customers dock their boats there too. Directions, message us on instagram.
