@@advipers with your specs you should be able to run VR no problem. However from what I read the recent update has butchered VR performance. I haven't tested VR yet with the update but I'm going to guess its going to take some major tweaking!

@@TheAverageSeverideFan what type of headphone did you use? I have a headset that blocks it out almost completely. You can still hear the intensity, but much less. Still just as cool though!

@@Afty86 I had seen the two jets just a week apart, and I would say the F-35 is louder haha. But I think it’s still similar, in comparison to the sound.

@@Afty86 I loved it 100% ! This was my 7th consecutive year coming to the Airshow. I absolutely loved the F-22 as I hadn’t seen it for I think 4 years? I enjoy the F-35 aswell, but I feel like the F-22 is more impressive for some reason. Not to mention the weekend before this I was down is Seattle to watch the Blue Angels, along with my with the classic F-35 and a few other jets. Surprisingly even though I had just seen the Blue Angels, I always enjoy the Snowbirds. I like to think of them as the Blue Angels of Canada. Love those guys and probably always will! How about you?

@@Gobie_ I haven't tried VR yet with the latest update but from what I have read the latest update has really messed up the VR performance. Hopefully it will be fixed in the coming two weeks™

@@Afty86 oh i didn't know, i still think that my settings may be wrong because i have no idea how i should optimize it for VR but maybe the update is causing the problem. (It's my first time trying VR ever so i really have no idea lol)

@@atorius989 no I see it in my notifications and in my studio feed but it's not listed on the video and it's not in the held for review area. So strange. Yes I am an original Vaicom supporter. I bought all the modules. I was super sad when a couple of years ago halloween the update broke it. I'm glad it's now open source with the community. I agree Vaicom is awesome! I liked the chatter mod when I I'm playing single player.

@@Afty86 I run viacom and it wont detect my aircraft works fine when game isnt running.

It will put together the command but for some reason game will not recognize even after piolets voice repeats the command and I am on right channel.

@@thundernoob22 a HOTAS would improve your experience 1000x. While it is possible to play using the hand controllers (I haven't tried it) I heard it's not worth the effort.

@@thundernoob22 no problem. I was in the same situation as you but without the vr when I started playing. Was flying the stock su25 tutorials with the keyboard and I was like this is awesome but the controls are too hard. I went out to bestbuy the next day and got a Logitech 3D pro for $40. Served me well until I bought a VKB gladiator as my first real stick

@@Afty86 is logitech 3D pro good and I would just need a joystick and headset/trackIR to play right?

@@thundernoob22 the Logitech 3D pro joystick is a good starter as it's not too expensive if you decide flight sims aren't for you (they take time to learn but once you do it's awesome! Tho I miss some of those learning days it was fun). You can get by with just a joystick TrackIR will definitely help. You don't need a headset to use it but if your going to use some sort of track clip you'll need something to attach it to. Otherwise you will be wearing a baseball cap and sitting the reflectors on the brim for the camera to track. There are some inexpensive head tracking options as well. If you have a webcam already take a look at 'Beam Eye Tracker' from what I heard it's pretty good eye tracking software.

@@Herrcampzalot haha this was my first time DCS VR. I did have previous experience with the playstation VR when that came out with Eve Valkyrie. It was a space flight combat game.

It depends if you are using The AA radar you need to make it the sensor if interest and use the TDC to move the cursor over the contract then you need to make sure your radar elevation is right. Then TDC depress on the contract to lock. I should do a tutorial on this. Thanks!

The toolkit? I believe the default hotkey to pop up the menu is ctrl+F2

@@Afty86 I activated openxr in the oculus program on my pc and it worked fine.

Does it show on the bottom left of the XRNS window a green dot with joystick label?

@@Afty86 Yes it shows a green button and 3 joysticks assigned. I am using Winwing and their SIMAPP pro app, but I've also tried assigning the button without the app running and still unable to assign it.

@@zigzagfly1635 when you go into the set the center button you hit the magnifying glass and push the key you want and it doesn't show up as you hit a button?

@@Afty86 That is correct. Nothing happens. Also, I have a DOF reality motion platform - not sure how that impacts it. I did get two crashes on my PC in the middle of a dogfight as I was checking six which doesnt normally happen.

I read they are accepting refund requests for the F-15E currently. Not sure if the other modules will follow.

@@Afty86 razbam had a long history of not supporting their modules since FSX and shitting on their customers for the last 4 years at least in DCS. ask chuck owl how he feels about Razbam when he asked for help with his how to updated manual for the Harrier.

@@Afty86 Yeah, that's because I own the MiG-19 and have demoed the Mirage 2000 and Harrier several times. None of them have a decent flight model. (I have no idea about the Strike Eagle's FM as I can't Free Trial it. But I expect it's similarly "on rails" feeling to all their other ones.) Fool me twice, shame on me.

You must be joking right ? Razbam completely remade the Mirage 2000 to push it beyond any of the ED modules in terms of what is simulated, and yes that includes the A-10C and it's comically unrealistic sensors. The F-15E was on track to be the same, one of the best simulated aircraft in DCS with actual limitations like bending wings (and an actual effect on flight qualities), a decent attempt at making the LANTIRN bad (as in real life), an actual A/A radar, an actual A/G radar and not some if else logic like we get on the F-16. Out of curiosity, have you ever tried GMT on the F-16 and noticed there is no error what so ever on the designation ? Not even to mention that it's a photo filter (which you can edit in the lua files btw) applied onto a perfect map to generate the ground picture, there is no radar being simulated here, barely any. That is what ED level simulations provide, unrealistic, simplified systems with decent FMs. What you're saying is actually false. Who would update a module that barely sells due to it's age within the DCS ecosystem if it wasn't out of good faith (and no, even if it was poorly simulated, people would still buy the Mirage 2000, if anything the state that the F-16 and F/A-18 released in proves it, people buyed those for the name) ? Who would raise the bar for systems modeling if it wasn't in good faith ? Saying Razbam or ED is handling the situation poorly is one thing, finding out/saying it's their fault or ED's fault is one thing, but saying they didn't work in good passion is objectively false. That or for you none of the DCS devs work in good passion, and yes even Heatblur wouldn't be immune considering that we're still waiting for some F-14 stuff and that the Viggen still has a half cooked FM. May I remind you that HB also didn't snap into being the most "passionate" dev in DCS, they improved at each module launch (the MiG-21 is not really the best simulated aircraft in DCS systems wise, same devs, it took them time and they were here before RB), just like Razbam was/is doing. The fact that the F-15E released unfinished, which HB does also but not as much granted, is something you could argue is a bad mark yes but both third parties are clearly not in the same situation, and updates were focused on quality. Considering how troubled that period was for RB, you can't really spin an argument that they were also not working in good passion on those. Now sure, you'll probably say the Harrier was not made in good passion either, and while it didn't get the same amount of love as the Mirage 2000, it is at least in a finished state which is the bar set by ED pretty much.

If I was in your shoes I would wait. It's just a time bomb with an unknown timer to when it will become unplayable. Could be in the next few patches or next year no one knows. I hope they can get it all sorted tho.

Unfortunately that's probably not the case. DCS is a very niche product and with each module the amount of tech debt increases to where ED has admitted that if they stopped doing early access modules and selling things way before they are actually done they'd be out of business in short order. That's why years later we still don't have the briefing room promised on the SC module. At some point that next big module is going to land with a thud and it could be for many reasons. One of the most likely is that this is an expensive hobby and people are financially tapped out.
