@@Afty86 Chucks guides! I'm sure it's not out yet for the F1, but those are absolutely indispensable to me, completely changed learning new aircraft. Like a highly detailed manual with pictures and labels on everything, incredibly thorough covering every system from take off to weapons, to navigation, and in game settings like ideal curves. I keep a tablet with them next to my pc at all times.

Typical dcs module life cycle 1. Read manual/watch tutorial videos 2. Trying out the new features you've just learned 3. Happy noise 4. Encounter enemy aircraft 5. Haven't learn the modules combat features to fight it 6. Get shot down 7. Rage quit 8. Rinse and repeat from step 1

The South African F1AZ could carry fourteen 500lbs bombs, and had the Cyrano radar removed, and in it’s place, bombing computers, extra fuel, and a rangefinder. It would be a pinpoint precise bomb truck, which would be a very fun plane to fly an attack mission on a Cold War server. Then of course there’s the Iraqi F1EQ. It could carry two AM39 Exocets, AS-30L missiles, and was a very advanced variant. It would be the perfect opponent for Heatblur’s upcoming Iranian F-14A-95-GR variant.

@@Afty86 Aerges have acknowledged the darkness and are working through it - the colour they used, while accurate to the aircraft, doesn't really work well for DCS lighting - according to the Spudknocker video I watched recently. It was him or GS.
It just makes the playability that much longer, Lol! People have that overwhelming desire to be the Ace of Aces, till they jump into the cockpit and suddenly realize, they don't have a clue of where anything is and how to work the damn thing. That's why I applaud ED's decision to give people two weeks to play with a module before they buy it, because, with limited free time, you need those two weeks to get it started, Lol!
Lol.. 💯 True... Another rabbit hole is using the 3rd party utility JoyPro (by Holdi601) to standardize HOTAS key bindings across all modules in one configuration. Very cool utility if you own more than 4 modules.
@@Afty86 performance is ok, when I was down to guns vs the last 21, it was a massive struggle. Not the best guy at ACM by any means but the 21AI is known to pull energy out of thin air. Cockpit too dark for VR, I would be lost too if I hadn't gone looking at those vids. Still can't locate the chaff/flare dispense push button (bound to D by default), I scoured the left wall where it is mentioned to be and there is no button there methinks, just the key command. Ejector seat safety pin is shown in manual but when I craned my head over to look in VR I saw no tag to click on like you would expect but seat did not fire until the key was pressed for remove pin. Lots of small polishing like those two things still required. As far as release problems go though, it seems to be a heap of very small things. Overall a decent release and the module has phenomenal potential. I still remember when the Mirage 2000 released, and comparing that to the absolute masterpiece of a module it is now (2022 Mir2K is one of my favorite modules, top 3 ez), I could see the F1 really going places

@@Afty86 Right side of the cockpit, you see the 8 big white buttons (they are for missiles/guns/bombs/etc), look further forwards and you'll see all the warning lights and the row of switches that have the battery, generator, etc. Basically all the electrical stuff is on the right side near the warning lights and those 8 white buttons while the fuel pumps are most of the switches just forwards of the throttle. The big round red cover near the throttle covers the starter button. All the fuel pumps are in that same block of switches.
Realism sims aren't supposed to be plug and play, people don't buy them for the arcade experience. My arcade combat flight games all look like the video, ACE combat is fun, there are more VR arcade games, since they can be counted on two hands, you can just google to find out. Just a warning, it's super stressful in VR, 90FPS beyond 110FOV.
DCS in VR is great I just wish it was optimized a bit. Been playing a few campaigns in VR haven't tried multiplayer yet as checking your six is a real chore lol

Real pilots have dozens of hours of training and practice followed by several hours into an aircraft to get certified. You can't leapfrog that.
