Thanks for the informative video…..and to think some would choose Kamal over Tulsi ??? Note: The final photo appears to be at her promotion to Major, as the color is bronze. She has, of course, been promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, with the coloring being silver. As a former Army Officer, and Dad with three daughters, there is a lot of praise in our family for “girl power.” The praise is for those who have earned it…not for those who have simply been given it. I suspect that by the time the next Trump time is completed, we will have noticed the name Tulsi being given to many newborn daughters.
A couple of notes on marksmanship medals - the Coast Guard medals are different, being shaped like the Coast Guard shield and with slightly different ribbons. The medals also come in grades. Unadorned means a "Marksman" qualification, a bronze "S" means sharpshooter and a bronze "E" means expert. It looks like Hunter is a mere marksman. Hell, even my Yeoman qualified sharpshooter!
While I don't remember the scene, it's unlikely that anyone would get a medal for putting out a galley fire. In the navy literally everyone is a firefighter. He didn't do anything that would not have been expected from any member of the crew. If there was some lifesaving involved then that's a different story. And while I cannot confirm or deny anything in Blind Man's Bluff, it's a great read.
Brittish squaddies used to mock US service med and women 3:32 for their chests full of medals. I saw a basic training passing out squad parade where each soldier wore 2 medals each. Ian Dee. I medal for 12 years service in the British army.
The thing is this guy was supposed to have served in heavy combat as a marine in WW2 but his family and Mafia colleagues thought killing would be a problem for him.
I remember getting this medal shortly after 9-11. Afterwards every recruit who finished boot camp had this as well. We all nick-named it the McDonalds ribbon because it reminded someone of McDonalds.
Really glad I stumbled across this channel - excellent videos and a really original subject.
Thanks for your comment Mick, much appreciated. Glad you enjoy it

You should research Gabbard's actual medals and the correct pronunciation of her Name! Aloha!
Where are the GRU, FSB and other Russian decorations?
These are "doing my job" medals. The only ones my father was proud of were his Purple heart and Silver Star.
Michael Cprleone was ons serious badass. He probably regarded Sonny, his older brother, as somewhat of a buffoon. Guadalcanal was a siege more than an assault operation, hanging on while the USA mobilized. Pelilieu was a bucket of bloodiness second only to Iwo Jima a silver star from that means you looked at the devil himself at the very best.
AMAZING WOMAN AND PATRIOT LT COLONEL TULSI GABBARD GOD I LOVE THIS LADY BLESS HER AMEN 🙏
Sabaton lady of the dark animated story video youtube
I would say if she cleans up the intelligence department she deserves a nod for prez.
Ok, well it’s not my intention to be unnecessarily negative; however, as a U.S. Navy retiree with 36 years of service, I have a couple of suggestions. First and most importantly, spend a little more time on research for the medals/ribbons. I suspect you are Googling your information, which is fine; however, you will find many sites that will provide you with inconsistent and even inaccurate information, all the while official U.S. Navy sites with the instructions governing them are publicly viewable. Second, focus on real life personnel, there are more than enough available to keep you busy for a long time. Don’t waste your time on fictional movie characters, they’re not at all interesting and it becomes ingenious. Third, don’t over glorify medals/ribbons, you’ll loose a huge potential audience, that being those who have actually served. It quickly becomes nauseating to us. Your production quality seems good, though candidly I really don’t know how far you can go with this concept. There’s only so many medals/ribbons and then it becomes repetitive. In my opinion it would be much more interesting to focus on individuals and their specific accomplishments culminating in the awards they received for those actions. Finally, while I have not heard you phrase anything in this way, be cautious of how you reference them especially if you get to the level of Purple Heart, Navy Cross or Congressional Medal of Honor. Do not say anything like Service member Jones WON the Medal of Honor for…. These medals are not a contest, they are not trophies to be won. Service members become recipients of these medals through acts of selfless and extraordinary heroism. As I said, I haven’t heard you make any such reference, it’s just a little advice so you hopefully won’t. I’d imagine you already realize that the quote about “nothing more frightening that a group of submariners on the firing range” was to express quite the opposite, that in fact they are likely to be so inexperienced that it would be scary to be there with them, lest you get shot by accident and that your “crack shots” comment was meant in jest. Best of luck with your channel
Cool. Thoughts on: "Carl Maxie Brashear (January 19, 1931 - July 25, 2006) was a United States Navy sailor. He was a Master Diver, rising to the position in 1970, despite having his lower left leg amputated in 1966. The 2000 film Men of Honor was based on his life." Check Wiki for him.
Thanks for the suggestion, I will add it to my list of ideas

You did such a good job explicating all of Gabbard's awards, I wonder if you could find a copy of her actual citation for her CMB. I would love to see if it contains the phrase "under direct fire" which I will wager a large sum it does not but if it does, I will be eager to hear the AAR of the "direct fire" action that justified her CMB. Until proven otherwise, I say Gabbard did not "earn" her CMB in the traditional way but is only the beneficiary of what I call "Citation Inflation" which reduces previously-respected military awards to the equivalent of the "Participation Trophies" often handed out in Little League baseball and what's wrong with those is when everyone is a winner, no one is a winner.
The Brits always seem to tell it better about our people than we do.
She's one of the coolest people. We love her irregardless of political party. She's our newfound Narional Treasure. Only thing the Democratic party did by rejecting her was bring out her prestige. She is a very good person of the outstanding character.
Great video! Really interesting. The variety of American ribbon only awards is huge! An interesting subject in itself.
Col. Gabbard is deserving of any Awards and Service Metals for her time in IRAQ… she is truly a Patriot… Possible VP pick by JD Vance who also wears many of these Awards on his U.S. Military Officer Uniform…
Wrong - she is not a Colonel.
@@KevinOlson-io3dm wrong-wrong. She IS now a Lt. Colonel.
Interesting. Very typical of a ARNG member. No Bronze Star though - very typical for deployed officers to the “Sand Box.” Please don’t equate a Bronze Star with a MSM (Meritorious Service Medal), they are completely different decorations awarded for very different reasons, no overlap. Please note NONE of her service was/has been in the intelligence community. This is an extremely steep learning curve for someone who has no experience nor expertise with & in this professional career field. I’m very skeptical of this nomination due to her public statements & leaning towards Russian policies & actions. Time will tell
Active duty units usually stayed in Iraq/Afghanistan for 6-9 months. National Guard and Reserves were deployed sometimes for up to 18 months. WTF, right? Well... Sometimes, you fill out a specific role that takes time to replace. My unit was deployed for 17 months when I joined them and missed the tour. I was deployed to Afghanistan in 2012, and it was almost a year, while the active duty army was there for 6-9 months. Air Force was there for 3 months (6 if they volunteered). We were told that our tour may take 15 months because they needed help finding someone to replace us on time. Fortunately for us, the unit planning to go to Iraq was rerouted to replace us. They ended up spending only 5 months in Afghanistan.
The Sea Service Deployment Ribbon shown at 0:47 is the United States Army version. The version for the Navy and Marine Corps does not have the three thin stripes in the middle of the ribbon.
recondition you self, you continue to refer on this video the name of the country issuing this awards as to The United States, and that is erroneous. Note, they are many United States, Examples, The United States Mexicanos EE,UU,M, the United States Of Brazil EE,UU,D,B, the United States Of America, USA, the United States Of Bharat IOT, the United States of Venezuela EE,UU,D,V, The United States Of Colombia EE,UU,D,C,ECT. please respect the correct identity of this USA soldiers . saludos
Regarding Roger Pelton, in addition to exposing Operation Ivy Bells, between 1980 and 1983, he also provided advice to the Soviets to interpret other intelligence they had gathered. For betraying his country, Pelton was paid about $37,000 or $121,000 in 2024 money. He was sentenced to 3 life sentences served concurrently plus 10 years in 1986, was paroled in 2015, and died in 2022 at age 80. His selectively worded obituary described him as "He was an US Air Force Veteran. After leaving the Air Force, he worked for the National Security Agency as an Analyst and later in his career sold luxury boats." 😆
the Gloval War On Terror medal is represented no by the Aquila crysaetos, European, Eagle and the serpent, but by Haliaeetus leucocephalus, American Eagle and the serpent . This symbol of the United States Mexicanos erroneously appropriated by the yankees of the United States Of America belongs no on war symbol of the USA but on symbols of the original people of the American continent from Canada to Chile , an indivisible continent. saludos from Iberoamericanos

your comment is total bullshit.
how many proven russian assets who also were members of the us military have been discoverd? and given these us military / russian assets, what was their decoration / medal profile? ie. what is the frequency of decorated us military members who have also been proven to be russian assets, and what were the decorations they received? it would be interesting to understand from a statistical standpoint the us military decoration profiles of proven russian assets.
In the category of personal decorations, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal is separated in precedence from the Bronze Star by (lower to higher) the Air Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and the Purple Heart. Hunter didn't receive that version but it can be awarded with the Combat "V" device.
Thanks for sharing
@@ClaspsofCourage You're welcome and thank you for creating this series.
@ClaspsofCourage Also, the MSM ranks just below the Bronze Star in order of precedence. The Bronze Star is awarded in theater during war, and the MSM is the equivalent for non-combat/peace time meritorious service. As to the Marksmanship Medal, the Navy considers them to be a badge, although it's in medal form. There are three grades. The lowest, in Marksman, designated by a plain ribbon only, no medal/badge. The second, Sharpshooter, designated by ribbon only with a Bronze S on the ribbon. The highest, Expert, is designated by a Ribbon with a silver E. The recipient would be authorized to wear the medal/badge on full dress uniform, or miniature in mess dress occasions. Hope this helps. God bless, Rob, USNR 1987-1995
Interesting details, thanks Rob much appreciated,
Thanks for the video. Here's a suggestion for another video with a real life recipient, Staff Sergent Casper Westphalen Mathiesen, Royal Danish Army. He was awarded the highest Danish award for courage in combat, and remains the only person ever awarded this decoration (Tapperhedskorset, more or less translates to "Cross of Bravery"). With only 1 award in the entire world, this must be the unicorn of medals. I may be somewhat biased, as he serves in my old regiment, Royal Danish Engineers. :-) Take care.
Thanks Brian, I will add his name to my list. I'm thinking of dedicating some time early next year to focus on real life gallantry award heroes and select some examples from various nations. I've already got some great suggestions from viewers so this will be another interesting addition.
In USA armed forces, the "Good Conduct" ribbons and medals are only awarded to enlisted personnel. Rare is it seen on officers' uniforms because few officers were ever eligible. Tulsi Gabbard's prominent display of her GCM indicates her proud memory of her enlisted service and an egalitarian mindset. USA is lucky to have her serve.
Interesting video, I just subscribed to your channel. Having said that, there were a few mistakes, that I'm sure others have already addressed in the comments below. But overall, I still enjoyed it.
The military is woke, remember, which means these are just participation medals. The same goes for that Fox News host guy.
Wow. This could have been done in one minute.
I don't understand. While we served the Officers got the Best of everything. Now in civilian Life that is still happening. Anyone ever think of the common Enlisted Solider? Oh, we know the lower rate the same respect as Officers Ryte?
Tulsi Gabbard earned the Good Conduct Medal, which is only available to enlisted personnel. She served as a specialist in Iraq, etc.
Tulsi enlisted in the early nineties, served as a specialist enlisted soldier in Iraq.
Can you make a distinction background of USMC master sergeant Thomas Beckett from the Sniper movies. Toim Berenger played this movie hero. Please!!!!🎖🎖🎖🏅🥉🥇🪖🙇♂
OR a mistake was made putting the Atlantic theater medal on his uniform by the costume department.
FYI: The Crossed Pistols ARE the Military Police unit devices.
It would be awesome to do a review of Peter Ortiz. The man had more foreign medals than USA medals. He was also a Marine in Europe during WW2! The man was legend. He needs to have a well made movie about his life.
