I started listening to Nightwish about 2 years ago when I was in the army. Their “orchestral” style wasn’t too fit for me. Storytime was the first song I liked, and then I got obsessed with nightwish. So, as I’m 27, I first heard of the “beef” for the three singers a year ago, when I was a codriver in an army vehicle and the driver was a nightwish fan. He told me about the 3 different singers, and how some of them were worse than the others, or better. I knew there were different singers in some albums, but didn’t care. I first fell in love with Floor on lives, while the studio versions had a different singers. The poet and the pendulum was one of my most important songs during my time in the army for many reasons, but when I heard of this version, Jesus it was such a blessing. Guys. You have so many wonderful Nightwish songs, and you can still listen to them with different singers. Each and everyone of them is totally different, so you listen to the same song, but you fall in love with it like the first time. I can’t imagine anything better than that. So many bands and I only wished the song to be erased from my head and listen to it again. And you have it with Nightwish. How can anyone disagree with that?

For me after tarja left anette was the only one wich fit for nightwish music and songs. She has a very warm tone. Floor is vocally a powerhouse but there is no NW vibes. Only when she sings the old nw songs.

I have watched this video many times and I love Annette’s rendition of Poet and the Pendulum. But I always wonder why she is wearing the brace on her right hand.

I miss her voice.

El que hizo el video le subio el sonido al video de Floor... ya que si escuchan ambas versiones por separadas Tarja literalmente la destruye a Floor, sobre todo een la segunda parte de la cancion, donde Floor canta mas suave y corta para tomar aire, mientras que Tarja con su poder y tecnica le da duro y parejo hasta eñ final... en este tema no hay punto de comparación... TARJA SE LA COMIO EN 2 PANES

First time hearing Anette singing it. I kind of missed out on her period. I think she is not a bad singer but she is not a story teller and she cant put emotion into this song. It kind of ruïnes the song for me. Sorry

This is not my favourite version, but I would be lying through my teeth and dishonouring an excellent adaptation of this song to Anette's style and vocal strengths to say anything other than it is excellent regardless of ranking. She made very carefully considered tweaks to play to her strengths, as any skilled singer would do.

Fuck I was one of the fans who cursed Tuomas Family for 5 generations after he fired Tarja and naturally thought Anette was awful after replacing Tarja but the more I listen to her the more I like it, she's an amazing singer and a lot of Nightwish's songs are more suited to her voice than the other two....this song here is a prime example

I love her, she managed to pull this off, put in her own style. She doesn't try to mimic Tarja, she sings unlike Floor later would sing. Thrown into that difficult song Annette made it sound great and authentic. Still, he's a Titan, she's a mortal. She catches up, but that song was made for Titans.
