This shadowing technique exercise (with an Edith Piaf anecdote, no less!) is a French comprehension practice to help you understand real French: the fast French that you hear in France, as it is spoken in conversations, on TV or on the radio.
Learn how to do French shadowing, and keep repeating the shadowing exercises, and soon enough the "I don't understand French" will be a thing of the past".
*How does it works?*
French shadowing gives you brain the missing pieces: a link between what you have learnt & already know and how it actually sounds in real life.
By doing these exercises you are teaching your brain to recognise new sounds of real French/spoken French pronunciation.
Don't forget to repeat out loud what you hear too, because it will also help your French pronunciation!
